I have a batch of Doc's soil ready and waiting...and only 2 DDA seeds left! What's a poor boy to do ?

I've got the timer set to decrease daylight and increase nightlight by 30minutes each day this week--taking the tent into Flower mode, thinking 11/13 once it gets there!

As for the DDA photos--I finally got of my ass and took a few shot and wouldn't you know it, the phone died--LOL.. sometimes it doesn't take much to stop progress.

I find myself checking in here more and more, love this community, thank you so much for what you contribute Sue. Cheers gang!

Oh Stoney, you're so welcome. I'm sorta addicted to the site myself, so it's really sweet of everyone to indulge me.

What else are you growing with the DDAs that requires you to decrease the light? I keep mine on 20/4 from day 1 to harvest, and in the last week or so I usually supplement with CFL side lighting. These girls loooove their light. At least mine do.

Anyone have any that do better in lower light? I never thought to ask this question, to be honest.

While I'm here I'll leave a couple pictures. My notes put her at Day 65. She's obviously coming into the harvest window, but the fans haven't begun to turn yet. I've learned to wait for the fans to finish. They bulk up significantly in the final weeks.

I'll be pulling out some CFLs.

To answer the question of what I also have growing: A Malawi x Cheese Candy cross I call "Franco" in honor of Franco Loja's recent death fighting the rampant spread of malaria in africa. It was his Malawi genetics that made this plant FLY!

So I have two "Franco"s, 1 Chocolate Tonic (first CBD plant!), 1 (greenhouse seed co) Super Lemon Haze, 1 (greenhouse seed co) Golden Tiger, 2 Cheese Candy (delicious seeds), and a volunteer that popped up in the yard and transplanted indoors (I think it's a Tangie x Malawi cross, from the look of it!).

Anyhow since being able to start growing again (long story), I went kind-of nuts and germed a bunch of seeds, and only have the 5x5 tent to flower them all, and damn if that doesn't mean limited space! So essentially we'll be doing a sort of "SOG" with all these plants. I've continued dialing the time down 30 minutes each day this week and have decided for sure now to have them on 11/13 next week to help stunt the growth and get these plants flowering. BUMMED to hear the DDAs like so much light, but if I run these sativas on 20/4 it'll be November until I get to harvest them

The tent: 2 900w Vipar Spectra lights, 1 Mars Hydro 720W. BIG ass mushroom-in-a-bag for C02, 6" fan, a total of little over 1000w real-draw. 81 in the day, 71 at night.


We live and learn! 2 DDA seeds left, and next time, I'll run them 20/4.

Hey everyone I'm new here, I've been checking out this forum for a while and I'm very impressed with the dark devil grows I've seen here. I'm a bit confused with the results I'm getting. I have a few grows under my belt, but this one has me stumped. This dark devil is 46ish days from when it sprouted (give or take a day )and it seems to have slowed down/stopped flowering. Heres some background info on the grow

46 days from sprout
5 gallon dwc
7inch diameter air stone that fits bottom of the bucket and 8 port air pump piped into 1 line (lots of bubbles)
Humidity is 30-45%
Temps range from mid high 60s at night to 81 max durring when lights are on.
Using GH flora duo, cali magic, and a few drops of floralicious plus with filtered tap water
PPMS are between 475-525
Ph is 5.6-6.1
My lighting isn't the best but it has produced a 3oz yeild from an unknown bag seed on my first grow.
180w HGT seven band led 160actual watts 15inches from the canopy. 8 2ft t5's (2 on each corner post of my 2.5x2.5ft tent
8 100w equivalent cfl I had lying around hanging over head. The lights have been 18/6 since I've started

She started strong and fast, she's lot bigger than I thought she would be and very bushy. I dont trim leaves or branches i just let her do her thing.She showed pistils around day 25 and then she stretched ALOT. Tons of bud sights and pistils all over. She's healthy looking, but she seems to have halted. I'm at week 7ish of an 8.5 week strain (I know they usually take longer than advertised). I'm in awe of some of the DD I've seen here and I was hoping one of you amazing growers have any input on this strain. Here's a few pics thank you in Advance and I hope this is in the right spot (I'm not forum savvy)

Welcome Moose ! Good looking plant. If she has quit growing vertical that means it is time for the buds to fatten up. I have four growing now and we are within days of each other. I think today is Day 44 on mine. I measure each day trying to find a stopping point, so far they are still growing upwards.

I also chose her before all the cool kids "just because I liked her picture". I have gotten 4 identical plants. Each beginning to flower inside of 21 days and standing 18" tall. Almost zero side branching at all. This particular lady is in 2.5G of soil. Her sisters were grown in coco and or soil ranging from a solo cup to 5Gallon pots. All spitting images of each other...

Anyway, here she is!

Nice looking plant Moose. She'll be turning purple tones any day now, from the looks of her. It kinda sneaks up on you the first time. You're first DDA, eh? Welcome to your latest addiction. Lol! It's driving me crazy not to be able to plant the next one right behind this one.

Harvest buckaroos!

She came in on Day 70. Only 97 grams fresh cut. I'm anticipating in the area of 20 grams. I'd have left her up longer, but there was the beginning of amber trichomes, and I can't have that now. Lol! She was so easy to grow, and looked so wonderful under the Timber Vero panel. The soil finishes cooking in about 10 days, and then I can drop the next seed.

Hmmmm..... I may have enough for a solo cup...... get her started early......

Mine was a crisp 70 days. She could have gone longer. I've taken then as long as 90 days, and as short as the mid-50s.

Oh yeah. I plan on at least 90 days from breaking ground.

Like I said, they can sometimes hang in. You'll figure out as you go which buzz you prefer. I harvest with no amber trichomes. It give me a hit that similar to speed, under the right conditions. Not everyone's comfortable running that fast.

The genetics seem to be very solid... no matter which pheno you get. I'm growing 4 now, two pairs of identical twins, of two distinct phenos.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys and gals! This morning I opened the tent and found she just started showing some color.... ANDDD I'm thinking a calmag deficiency haha. It's only a few of the top leaves with those rust colored spots. I'm not sure if the light is too close at 14-15 inches, but that's the highest I can get them. So I recalibrated my phone meter and found the ph was a bit low for a few days 5.4 5.5, I added a little calmag and brought the ph to 6.1 for a little bit. Any thoughts?

My thoughts are she'll bounce right back. It's hard to slow these girls down once they're this far along. I had one with a mite infestation that I had to almost completely denude, and it ended up making it more potent.

The CalMg should do the trick. Great news on the purple!

Thank you for the reassurance Sweet Sue! When I was young and foolish I had a really bad calmag deficiency on a plant that totally wrecked it. So now I'm a nervous parent over everything haha. Im Not so young anymore, but still completely foolish! The only part that confused me is that I always add calmag to my nute mix

Just thought I'd drop in a leave a family shot of DD1-4 left to right, and a shot of my double headed bud on DD3. Nope it's not two buds, it is one bud from one stem with two heads on it. Kind of neat and a first for me. Day 56 and DD3/4 are two and a half weeks behind their sisters. A staggered harvest just means i don't have to work as hard all at once. I'm more than happy to spread it out.

I got some more DDA beans....

Am going to grow the Bloody Skunk Auto first but want to have some DDA for summer for wandering about in the woods with the dogs as the surreal high in surreal surroundings was great fun last year. I want to grow at least one in soil out this pack but will probably go for one in NFT to make sure I get a nice big pile of it again.

The Green Poison Auto seeds are there because I really like Red Poison Auto but haven't had space to grow the green one yet....hope it's as good?
