Hey, all!
Here's a wee update:
My Dark Devil is going long -- I have to leave today for a few days on business so won't be able to chop her until I get back. That's fine by me -- she's barely got any amber and I want a bit more. She's at 12 weeks today and looking pretty battered:
Looking battered, nah... that's the way good bud is supposed to look like going down the back stretch. What's happening is the plant in a last ditch effort to reproduce, is trans-locating stored energy and minerals from those old fan leaves to the flowers in hopes she will need that energy to produce seed. So a plant that looks like that for me is for sure healthy and growing as expected. Looks GREAT to me. Just leave the leaves fall off naturally. Makes for a real easy trim, which follows my growing style..less (work) is best.
Yes ma'am glimmer yer killing it. I just put a plant 1/4 that size in a jar last night - looked just like that at chop. I wouldn't worry too much about trichome color with this strain. If you wait till there's amber, you're going to have knock out non-work day meds. Trust me on that I've got a few jars of this strain that I cannot smoke on a work night. Lord knows I've tried... lots of times. Tonight is Saturday night so... BOOM .. gonna roll up a big purple fatty and when I wake up in the am I will be just as medicated as I was when I went to bed.
I actually prefer it a bit on the early side - I get raced up and my body gets numb and tingles .. whats not to like there, eh? It I let it go longer I'm down in the couch for the next day. I have to really motivate myself to get going (why I say non-work night) ... at the end of the day = it's all good really. I've called in sick with this so take that for what its worth. hahahaha... always looking for a good reason to call out ... last time which was last week it was what I called a "mental health day" ...
Weather forecast was: foggy followed by extreme fogginess = mental health day. All I wanted to do was R E L A X and mellow out and feel really really good for like 24 hrs.
So my point is... I think yer there... get the nippers out, look her straight in the buds and if you see any new pistols, slowly step back away from the plant. If no more new pistols, she's done.
Don't think about it just: chop, drop and hang her up. Done. Boom-sha-ka-laka. Celebrate the harvest (tradition).
Oh and I finally have a fairly large DD just going into flower - she's about 18" tall right now after stretch - not the plant in the back round (mother in veg 3 months or more) - looks like shit now - will be a bud monster later on.
