F1s of auto x photo are all photos. Generally F2s will have about 25% chance of being autos. F3 is like the breeders choice because if you hunted for autos and crossed autos, autos is what you will have. Whereas if you were hunting for a different trait, you could end up with any combination of photos and autos.

If someone did happen to cross Big Devil XL and a purple Kush, which purple Kush and which phenotypes would you start with? Of course I could be wrong , but phenotypes of the parent/grandparent plants do need to be considered as well. That is trade secret stuff that only Sweet Seeds knows.

I wasn't trying to start debates . I really just wanted to know if any folks were interested in that sort of project. It appears that the answer is no, lol. I have other projects on deck, the community has spoken... Of course that might not stop me from going through with it, being hard headed as I am.

Jarred up the dda yesterday.Dried out she came in at 121 grams. Pleased with my first run with her. Still got 3 beans to play with later.

If there was actually a way to produce pure Dark Devil photoperiodic plants I'm sure many people would be interested. The only way I see it being possible is as someone mentioned above. Recreate the cross of Big Bud XL X Purple Kush and eliminate the auto gene. Might have to grow a lot of plants to get it right and that could take years. But if the point of that project would be to produce higher yielding plants a DDA can be a pretty good yielder if grown right.

The largest we’ve seen on this thread was over 6 oz, to my recollection. The largest I’ve grown myself was 4 oz, a respectable haul pulled off with a little side lighting.

4-6 oz seems to be a reasonable goal with autos. @Rifleman, what’s your largest harvest of an auto? I know A-train beat that to hell, but he’s an auto-growing Superman. :laughtwo:

The gents over at that network of auto flower growers probably have secrets we could learn from.

From start to finish in around 77 days i would say she did great. Been smoking a bit today and this evening some sweet smoke for certain. Be better in a few weeks. :passitleft:

My largest DDA was a shade over 7oz. My largest auto ever was an 110z Barney's Farm Sweet Tooth Auto.

That was back when I was running a 1000w HPS with four plants in the big tent. It was entirely luck because I didn't know jack about what I was doing back then, nor why I was doing it. :rofl:

I've thought of trying another sweet tooth, but I just didn't like the taste profile.

Tis true though. Most highs are the same for me, so I'll pick a lower thc smoke over one that I might find only a slightly better high with but a shitty profile nearly every time. I prefer skunk, musk, and earth tones over anything sweet or piney. :blunt:

I have to say, DDA is th easiest clean up before a harvest. The fans snap off so easily that before I know it she’s down to sugar leaves and buds.

She won’t give me the 2+ ounces her sister did a couple weeks back, but she’ll get over an ounce for sure, and Brix has another seed dropped. My stocks of both Carnival and DDA are replenished for the time.
