Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Unfortunately, I didn't get the pure purple pheno this time, but she is almost done.

My smallest is now 62 days old and stands a mere 4" high, but today she was showing off the sweetest beginnings of the purple tones we love so much.

Her older cousin, growing in much more soil, and Kit soil at that, has deep purples. This one's at day 77, very close to the end now. She just got her second CAT drench, so I'm hoping to keep her going at least another week to 10 days.

I trimmed a bud to dry and test. It'll dry for about three days, from the feel of it.

Taking pictures in the tent this morning instinct kicked in and had me notice a nodule rising up from my oldest Dark Devil Auto. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a decent shot of why we grow this strain. The trichomes are even more exciting! LOL!

Looking mighty fine there folks. Just a word of caution - be sure the buds are "mostly" dry. They will mold up faster than a pair of socks left overnight in the gym locker room.

Mostly dry - tips of leaves you're going to trim off should be a bit crispy but the rest of the bud still has a bit of spring when squeezed a bit (don't bruise the buds, gently squeeze).

MrA - those look finished to me - I don't see any new pistols. 20g is a decent haul. That's about average for me. I just got 28g from my GDP auto. Those buds look nice, perfect actually! Very good job.

Plate o nugz - yummy, that would've looked perfect beside a big ol turkey... and for desert we have Dark Devil buds and for desert after that we have an assortment of dark chocolates and Kit Kat bars with ice cream, and for munchies we have nuts with popcorn and some more dark chocolate. yum yum yummy.

Congrats on the harvest, Mr Am4zin! Those flowers are so pretty ... What does she smell like?

Can't wait to see what they look like when dry, I'm hoping for almost black. They smell quite spicey with a hint of something I can't quite my finger on

Thanks Bo and reps for the info on drying. I'll make sure I'm extra careful. That last paragraph had my mouth watering.

Dark Devil Auto - Day 63

Background: In 4'x4' tent, Mars Hydro II 900 along with 2 photo period plants so she's been 12/12 since 10/30/15 using RAW nutes, some Overdrive, Molasses and a taste of Epson salt at last watering. She was germinated in her final 5 gal smart pot. She is 20 inches and bud back building of 3 colas was done 11/18/2015.

I'll be checking closely this week to see if I can determine if she stops developing. She's very thirsty and got full nutes Saturday and today. I'm thinking about straight water next two weeks then harvest.

HARVEST FOR A Pair Of Dark Devil Autos

:yahoo: :slide:

Not one, but two at once. Oh guys, I'm a little overwhelmed and incredibly happy to have these drying a week before my birthday. :yahoo:

I wanted to see the weight difference before and after the trim.

So between the two of them I can anticipate somewhere around a half an ounce dry. I'll be good with that. I'll probably start my grow back up after the holidays with two of these to get more inventory on hand.

Now some glamor shots in natural light. I got carried away here, so I apologize in advance for the photo bomb. :laughtwo: Chalk it up to exuberance. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Spicey is nice :) I guess I don't really care, because I'm growing this plant regardless, but I'm super curious about it. I'm loving the change in smell as my own buds cure -- it drives me nuts trying to identify the smells!

My wife says they smell like choke berries kinda tastes like them TBH... I think pungent berry smell with a hint of dank. Always that dank is there and a sweetish berry smell.

We like to drink wine from time to time and these black buds pair really well with a good old vine Zinfandel, just sayin...

Try vaping these buds and you will taste the sweet berry right on the tip of your tongue all the way down to your coughing bone. Then we get a little head band wrappage, does a 360 all the way around my head and BOOM... it's psychedelic. :thumb::drool::ganjamon::party:

The more I smoke on these buds the happier I get! Wow that's novel eh?

Oh yeah I just wanted to say that I'm soooo freaking proud to be a part of this community grow Dark Devil. You ALL are killing it, doesn't matter methods be it organic or not, its all looking sooo freaking good.

I just want to say thanks to all current and future participants, keep it green and purple my friends.

I'm so thrilled at how well this community grow idea has worked out. To see so many different approaches to the same strain...... It been damned exciting! Atulip and Glimmer - so tickled that you both have new ones coming along. Wait until you try the harvest. You'll plant another right away. :laughtwo: What BB describes is very similar to my reaction to it. It's going to be all I can do to stay away what's drying here. LOL!

Keep up the good work everyone. :thumb:
