My 2 DDAs on day 34 (last week):
DDA1 outside and still looking a little sparse, but we have buds forming. Smoke from BC wildfires is messing with my plans for peak growing season. Mid-day "full" sun is less than half what it would be normally, and I'm losing about an hour of usable daylight at each end. All my plants are suffering.
DDA2 inside, still tiny, but much denser and buds. Damage on the leaves is from when she was still outside. No sign of bugs inside. LEDs are providing about 2/3 of full daylight (18/6), so right now she is getting more intense light and more total light than her sister. The thing I hadn't counted on was the lower temps in basement, about 70 vs 80-90 outside. Looks like she has about same amount of foliage. Temps and light seems to be offsetting each other.
Here's a peek at Mr. Sun, still trying but not much getting through. Grrrr!
And now Day 40 (yesterday):
DDA2 is looking like a real plant now, boosting my mood. The phrase "little ray of sunshine" seems appropriate.
Another odd thing, by starting in 5 gal pot I haven't had to water. Soil is moist just a couple inches down, but I need to give the Cationic drench now anyway. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but I'm going back to starting small and potting up.
Lots of buds starting, better than I thought last week. I may be a week late on drench though. Better late than never.
DDA1 also with good budding, and .... yes, I see a hint of purple! Finally!
Up until now this hasn't had the feel of an actual grow. Not much to see and not much to do, not even watering. Feels much better now. Got my interest back. Now if I could just get some sun!
