I'm super happy rite now just took the DD out to feed her for the first time and check her out a little and she has purple calyx on her so I am for sure the owner of a purple pheno!!!!!

Hope y'all don't mind if I drop this here ...
I currently have a Dark Devil Auto topped in 1.5 gal pot of FFOF w/ perlite and dolo lime under a 600w MH on 18/6
And another DDA untouched -- both were grown under exact same conditions, any reason why one stretched more ?

Technically, placement qualifies as not exactly under the same conditions, and I've always been surprised how much difference a few inches can make. That's not to say it's the cause of her lanky behavior, but it may be. Sometimes they just get tall.

My first DDA is on day 56 now, got some decent shots of her today while I was in the garden. She's smelling very fruity like almost, good trichome production and no issues to report. Few more weeks left on this one likely, should be around this time the buds will start to swell and fill out

And here is the 5 gallon experiment on day 25 now.. I didn't realize that on my last update (day 20) that if you look closely in the picture of the promix bucket, there was a pistil showing. I thought I seen the first one on day 22 but I was wrong. The hempy bucket gal is still slowly coming along, shoots are finally starting to pop up, decent change for 5 days since the last update. I am hoping that the roots are in the reservoir now and this thing will take right off, no signs of preflowers yet.
Also got some training in on the promix bucket, got all the lower branches spread out and somewhat flat as well as the 2 tops (yay I didn't break them this time haha) I got bent over so they can grow out with the flower stretch. This is a very hardly plant, even more so than my first one. Very thick stalk and very strong.

I had lost my "Seed Bible" with my last DD seed in it!!!! I was crushed FF a an dropped some in my mail box!!!! That next morning low and behold as I was moving things around I n my tent to make room there it was my "Seed Bible" so blah blah on 5-17-17 she popped her head out of the soil and today here sh is now c and happy and on day 19!!!!!!
She's looking strong LTS. I missed this post. I'm glad to hear you found the seeds.

Yes. Absolutely, unless you grow in hydro, in which case you'll grow a monster anyway, so why bother?

I'm glad you like . I chuckled a lil when I 1st registered my acct. Believe it or not you're one of my inspirations for attempting DDA. I've read a lot of what you've written and it's helped tremendously ! Thank you . I actually have my first grow ever in my sig. it's going well so far, except for some thrips tryna move in ., with a few photos and a few autos in a 4x4 in some FFOF.

Well.... I'm touched. It still throws me that people find what I have to say so inspiring. It shouldn't surprise me, since that's what I hope to do here, but this is still all new to me.
Do you have spinosad? I believe it works for thrips. I've had them, and I recall that was why I purchased the bottle in the first place. Soil and bugs. What are ya gonna do? It's a constant battle to raise healthy soil and plants that repel problamatic bugs. I've certainly had my fair share.

Welcome to the fam ! I'm also a virgin grower lol. Cant suggest any strains as idk any but i would suggest more than 1 DD. Ive heard nothing but good things about it and its freakin gorgeous but the yield can be a lil on the light side unless you top and train or use hydro... or so Ive read lol. anyone correct me if im wrong please .
Il be doing 2 of each strain but I'm gonna try plant em but only for 3 out of a possible 8 I use a 1.2m x 2.3 m so gonna squeeze 10-12 depending o. Feeding method my autopots will only fit 10
