That’s awesome Sky and your welcome I’ve been hearing more and more about 3D printing I just haven’t spent any time seeing how it all works. Very useful though being able to custom make loads of small pieces of plastic and other materials. Just how we want or like them.
I would like to make custom tent supports. Or light movers. Hangers etc. Because small grows tend to fluctuate a lot when being controlled by heater and Huey and de Huey etc. I saw a clever build at a job site at my work. It’s a server room but they are all temp and rh controlled at more advanced clients facilities. They had a vent to outside with motorized duct flaps. Like you would see on the vent leaving your home from the dryer. These worked with a actuator hooked up to a sensor. It would vent fresh air into the server rm and also ensure that when the AC is on or heat is on in winter that it didn’t get over hot. When a cooling or heating function came on the vents open as to purge off any excess heat or Ac building up in the room. I thought this was clever and it did regulate that room very well. It was roughly 14 ft tall. 12x12. I would like to build something like that but I wouldn’t ever get more then 8ft ish in vertical height. Sorry I get rambling when I’m speaking about grow room builds
I haven’t ordered from Budget yet. So I am not sure about the boxes. I believe all of my QB boards I will get from them going forward. HLG makes good products and I like their lights but it’s the same thing and Budget is active in our community here and seem to do great customer support. Add in coupon codes for discounts and full spec lighting + using the newest and most powerful diodes from Samsung. I’m sold! Forgot to mention they are a good amount less.
HLG550V2 R spec is like $1500-1600 to the door in CAD$
Series 2 Full Spec From Budget is like $1100-1150 maybe less with discounts.
They also will cater to custom Orders so you can piece together whichever boards they sell into one bigger fixture. That is amazing customer support to me. If you want to save even more. They sell DiY kits for those that are handy making QB arrays.
In trying to figure out their shipping policy, I discovered they are Veterans which has me sold already! I like that series 3 fixture for $680. It's cheaper than the HLG model and is more efficient. Better quality, lower price and veteran owned/operated. Who could say no to that?
I know what you were saying or trying to say, ie a vented "louver" system controlled by an actuator depending atmospheric conditions. I could easily build the same project with an Arduino and write the code to query the temp/RH sensor, and actuate the actuator as needed. 200mm build volume is roughly an 8 inch cube build area, or 300mm is a 12 inch build area. Printers are super affordable, but they do require a lot of hands on learning. If you can assemble an LED fixture, you can assemble a printer IMO. I've blown up other people's journals being overly descriptive so I'll spare you and Dankman here, but if you're ever interested about getting a printer, PM and I'll walk you through selecting one in your budget and getting you into an appropriate Facebook group for that model.
HERE is my Grow Room related designs. I also have machine related designs for my printer and CNC machine, but that's another topic. Look through my designs, maybe they'll inspire you to get you a printer and you can start creating things. a KG of filament starts about $15 USD and a KG can print a LOT of things.
