Curso's True High Brix!

Hey curso, have a quick question, I remember you saying the best time to harvest the bcbd gsc, we have one going now that's at day 50, no hermi issues, smells amazing and is covered in trichs so I can't complain, I'm also in the middle of running 6 purple rain x biker kush with doc buds kit so I'm excited to see how they come out. My plan was to take the gsc around day 63 and start flushing around day 54-55.

No bro the Cookies went 70+ days. With no hermie issues on any of the cookie plants. The Pineapple Skunk hermied on me but I caused it...And like doc said no need to flush kit soil there's nothing to really flush out. All that'll do is hinder your next run.

Yea I know, I won't flush the purple rain x biker, the bcbd gsc I used earth juice, everyone tells me I don't have to flush organic so I tried it but I have the best luck when I feed just molasses and water for two days then straight water for 7-8 days and I think it tastes a tiny bit better when flushed but more importantly it seems alot smoother when flushed, I don't cough as much which is big for me.

That makes sense.....

I'm going to try something a bit different this round:

Massive monsoon in week 3 of bloom, with a Re-charge/ cat drench chaser and an application of Bloomit.

Do you notice Bloomit reducing stretch at all?

I to do a massive monsoon just because I hate wasting, but its hard to pour .375 of an oz...I think I am going to top these with the soil I have cooking this time when the cat drench is done being used.

I'm watching these one much closer than the previous rounds just for that reason. It seems so far that the sativa dom phenos still stretch but maybe like 1/3 less than they would without it and the more indica dom stop or stretch very little.

We're watching the same thing.

I did reduce stretch maybe 20% on the OG's this time around. But then I also lowered brix by adding guano and K-mag to the bottom of the pot. OG likes that.....

It's all a matter of time, trial and error, and lucky discoveries.....and each strain might have it's own nuances.

These are the opening moves to post-prohibition growing! I'm hoping to identify physical signs in the plant that que me to applying different foliars and changing the ionic balance of the soil so I can apply all this data in some meaningful way to ANY strain I might grow.

Still, even following the basic instructions gives superior results. I think the Cat Drench is a good addition, but I'm still on the fence with Bloomit!

I use it because I have it, we'll see how it does this round for me. I've been debating doing a guano tea on a diesel in late flower, to see what'll happen. I'm having a really hard time pulling the trigger on that idea though. I've had such great results with this diesel I'd hate to mess a good thing up.

I wouldn't add guano unless you have a "failed" grow with a strain, like I did with the OG last round. It just kept on stretching, like a Colombian or something. Then I remembered how my hydro buddy would basically poison OG with massive amounts of nutes and get these great flowers.....so that's why the guano.

If the results are good, I personally wouldn't go down that path....at least that's how I feel right now. Adding guano will mean tossing the soil after harvest....at least in my opinion.

BTW, I tossed out all my soil and started with a fresh batch.

Thats why I have been kinda iffy about using it...my soil would be wasted for the next round. I plan on doing a fresh cook after the next round. Which will be round 4 for my soil. I cant complain about a years worth of grows...my only problem...what to do with my spent soil...lol I guess it's time for another barrel or 2 for the wife outside...lol

I'm thinking a rainy season followed by some squash and melons would put the soil right. Squash and melons like high potassium.....or, you could just continue to grow amazing produce in the veggie garden.

All I know is since going high brix my crops are spoken for before I even have the clones rooted or seeds sprouted. I am very, very hesitant to go that far off the path.....except in the case of OG, and the jury is still out on that. At least a month longer.

Hey doc I meant to ask, I haven't been putting cal mag or hygrozyme, just the transplant after wetting the soil with straight water and putting the root zone in the hole, didnt adjust ph either, the straight 7.8 ph water for 2 days because I just started, tonight will get its first feeding of energy, and tea, then water, water/spray, transplant, water/spray, water, energy/tea, and so on. should I be worried about foliage spraying on days they are fed? We were planning to do all foliage spraying on days they get just water.

If you're using my kit, please just follow the instructions!
I don't recommend adding Calmag, hygrozyme, or anything else to the kit!

Good on you for not worrying about pH. Follow instructions for everything else.....and good job not adding any other stuff! You'll see.....

I wish I could grow veggies...Condo living hinders that. That is the main reason I really like this method, I don't really have to figure out what to do with spent dirt.

I'll wait to crack the og and diesels until you have an opinion on that OG.

Hey doc/curso I read the directions and was just wondering when you say you should be spraying 2-3 times a week once a week brix and once to twice a week stress it doesn't say anything about what days to spray, should I spray on the days they get just water or when they are being fed, besides that question I think I pretty much understand everything else. Also curso was also wondering how uniform the BCBD gsc s1s are? Are the phenos all pretty close, or are some phenos way better smoke then the others? Also was wondering the taste and potency vs the forum cut, I know you said u picked up or were picking up the forum cut so wanted to see what you like better and are u keeping both around?

Pick a day.....any day....

Monday, Tuesday, Brixday, Thursday, Stressday, Saturday, Sunday, etc. Spray the same day each week?

I have a dry-erase calendar where I write down stuff like this and I just make sure I'm a week or two between foliar feedings. Easy.

As for GSC, I'm 0 for 1 with that strain. But I have one going right now and it looks like it might be good enough to harvest.

Hey Curso!!! Just caught up on your journal. Love how those TopLED lights are working for your tent. I swear even the photos are so bright it is almost blinding on my 32" monitor and it seems your plants are loving the light :) I am really considering making the switch soon. I just finished my GSC and the buds are phenomenal but the yield is absolute garbage, I only got 1oz off of a 4; plant. Definitely will be a scrog candidate in future grows to see if I can get the yield up. Did the bud washing too and wow, only going to wash my buds from here on out. Your grows are amazing Curso and that wax you posted is heavenly, looks so delicious. BTW great photo from the baseball game... skills with the camera my friend :)

My cookies from them were all pretty much the same. The only differences in mine were how I trained them. That breeders cookies are the forum cut. While it did yield nice and everyone else loves it..I hate it. It's just not a great medication in my book. There're many better strains out there. I do have it crossed with GDP though, I have a couple in the flower tent now. To me cookies are more suited for hydro so that's where it's staying in the hydro grow. It wont be making a return in my garden as cookies. I grew it, it's hype at least in soil it is. There are better OG crosses out there. It doesn't even come close to being as nice as the Chem Valley Kush.

Thanks for the kind words Ice. I've been watching your grow :) I'm not impressed with the cookies in soil. What we harvested from hydro gives that nice minty gassy flavor. It's just flat in my soil. I was kinda shocked that yours yielded so meh. My biggest last round was a little under 5zips.

I love the wash, I knew you would too bro. Makes things so nice and smooth...man I love it.

That CVK wax...omg Bro...man...

TopLed's light is cranking my plants, I am really happy with it thus far. I like that it wont get above like 85 degrees without the fan. My 96x3w I ordered for the veg tent should be here today. The only advice I have with the led is; Make sure you have loads of head room, at least 7'. That 240x5w light is super intense and it needs 24-36" for great coverage.

We might be going to game 3 tonight against boston, I haven't talked to my buddy yet and it might rain. I like baseball but not enough to sit in rain. Was a great game against Oakland. We had a great time, watching a great game, vaping awesome wax...

So, I'm starting to plan out the next round. I have a ton of beans coming and have a couple that need ran really bad. I have 2 Purple Urkles left, they're both getting soaked today. I'll do those 2 urkles, 3 hashplants and maybe the bubba kush. I think it'll be interesting to see the true purple in true high brix. The last time I grew one I had a light leak and it looked like cabbage. I have a 1000x better environment now and am going to give them a shot.

Yea I just tried wax for the first time the other day, I gave a friend that makes it a ton of katsu bubba and ghost og Kief and some super lemon haze x jack Herer, and my kushberry x blue ox Kief, he made me a bunch of wax and bho, and the shit is absurd how potent it is, the first time I smoked the bho I felt like I was coked up, shaking and shit, I really didn't like it, but I kept smoking it and the bho kind of got me ready for the wax but they are all tasty and amazing, I'm gonna get the equip to make them on my own from here on out, usually I use the big sifter box and just make piles of Kief but I plan on doing half wax and bho and half Kief from now on!

That sucks about the gsc, I was hoping it was going to be quality meds, well maybe ill get lucky with a better pheno, we will see, ill post some shots of our outdoor grow and bcbd gsc flower shots

Looking great as always. I finally have gotten "The Kit"!!! Just a quick question. What is the easiest way to mix the Pro mix And amendments? I was thinking of using a tarp in the yard, Spread out the pro mix Sprinkle the amendments over it evenly And mixed together very well then come back with my backpack sprayer and spray the water evenly, remix and wall la. I love the idea of using a mixer like DocBud. I see a used concrete truck mixer automated - in Docs back lot. I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas!
