Curso's True High Brix!

Well as many of you know B.I.D passed, the drag that its is. I was talking to spiffy (bid's girl) and asked her if it would be okay to memorialize him on my shield...So...here it is...Still thinking about you bro. He's protecting my ass ;)

That's awesome Curso!!!! Man I miss him :)

I think my plan with it is...I want to give a fair comparison so I'll run opp under it. I have one for me and one for a buddy in dirt. I'll veg that OPP under it and once the next round is finished I'll flower with it. I have to big of plants to change the plan with the current lighting in my flower tent. So we'll see what it can do from start to finish :)

Today things are moving along. I am transplanting 2 OPP's that I have in 1 cup pots into 2gl smart pots this morning. The AK, Lost Coast Hashplant and Sour Diesel #2 all got some brix yesterday. They all need transplanted, I haven't transplanted they yet because I don't want them over growing the space they are in. So I pretty much have to put a couple quarts of water in the saucers every day. That's fine as long as I remember to do it and when I don't they come back quick.

I'll take some pics of these plants when I mess with them...I might start some pot's of soil like I did with the OPP for these 3. She seems to be really liking what I am giving her. Let's see if other strains feel the same way. I might end up flowering one of these in a small tent with the 96x3w if I do it'll be the AK. I don't really care much for AK (just sick of it) so we'll see what that little light can do.

I am thinking about hanging a partition in my flower tent and having a proper "shoot out" with the new lights, my buddy has some thick black plastic. I am thinking that is what these 2 OPP are for. I am anxious to see how well the 11 bands improve small things. The addition of UV will make a fairly noticeable difference I believe. Also...I am looking forward to what the yellow's and green's improve. As a chef things to me are about details. I went with the mars II for the price and their spectrum is right for photosynthesis. I have wondered if the middle wavelengths might bring out some different terps.

We'll see... 1200w panel vs a 400w panel, what will win, raw power or par???

Very excited about this.

But I have this for the next run. Regardless of whom's light its under...Lost Coast Hashplant!!!! I trashed the other 2 and made them soil food....here they are in their grave and the lchp...its gonna be so big, it just got transplanted into a 7gl, for a month she'll veg in that pot. then a 20gl pot and some bright ass lights....

Well, we were able to work it out to be beneficial to both platinum and myself. Mark is a pretty cool guy, I dig talking to him. He's a pretty smart guy and knows his lights. We were a bit tentative of putting 2x450 of their models in my tent. Their coverage for each light is about the same as my mars 2 1200's. But with much, much more par value. These lights will be here monday'ish and I am probably going to hang one in the veg tent and finish vegging the LCHP with it.

The Par testing of the 450 that he is sending me 2 of is rather impressive.

These lights use bridgelux (blue and white) and epistar for the rest of the wavelength.

I am pretty stocked to see what this massive amount of par is going to do. I for some reason think these 450's will keep up pretty well with my 2 mars 2's. The real test will the the run after the lchp, I have OPP from that giant plant vegging in the small tent. Lost Coast Hashplant is just known for its big yields. But will be a good look at how these platinum's perform. I plan on running this plant similar to how I did the OPP, by letting her go for another couple days getting her nice and wet and I'll start training her once she's wet enough to bend without breaking anything. She's gonna be massive.....

I'll start a new thread and probably close this one when I start with the new situation. Although I wanted to keep this running until my soil is no longer usable. I honestly don't see that happening any time in the near future. 224 pages, its a long ass tread. I went through a lot in the past year+ in this thread, we saw the bad, the good, and now I am into excellence. And my best is still to come. I have realize whit my kit experience there is never "good enough" well that's how I am. It can always be better. Even as happy as I am with the OPP I would do a couple things different the next time. And honestly that plant is as close to perfect as I have come.

Just a couple more things. In this thread, I have gone from a 400w hpw to a 600 to the Mars II 1200 to x 2 of them. I'll be the first to say that LED makes a massive difference. I would have never been able to cool 2kw in hpw in a 4x4. Not on my best day. Not without adding ac. To me adding an ac unit to a tent is just trying to hard. While my 2 mars 2's do run hot 94 degrees is an unacceptable number in my book, it was easy to cool with negative pressure. It's really not the "right" thing to do. It is possible. Maybe 2 900's would be a better option, idk.

These platinum panels..."run cooler" (they have bigger heatstync's) and are using 3w chips with lenses and they run on less power and have a higher par out put. PAR my friends is what LED is all about, we're not measuring them in watts and lumans. We are worried about the usable spectrum that the plant can use for photosynthesis. So, like my previous post, we'll see what happens. 2x450w Platinums will be here monday...

Stay tuned...I'll throw a new thread up in here in the coming week....
