Cultivator's Return - Multiple Grows

Which article my friend? The coco feed schedule?
 
I did the liberty haze got some great plants from the seeds quite a lot of different phenos from 1 pack though I'd like to see how yours get on .
 
Ive just bought some new bits and pieces for the veg area today. £600 spent, i nearly had a heart attack when i got the bill lol. Normally i bulk buy and get things online so its been a while since ive been in a hydro shop in the UK. Mega expensive but i needed the kit.

So i bought:

1 bluelab ec meter
1 essentials digital ph pen
1 250w 64k cfl (was going to buy 3 but i found some in my lockup)
1litre H+G Roots Excellurator
1 litre Buddhas Tree Solar Green Power silica
4oz Great white mycorrhizae
100 litres coco/pebbles 60/40mix
50 litres coco
100m x 2m mylar
60 500ml starter pots.


I will get a tent up on friday to get these seeds potted up and started. I have a room to come down in 3 weeks, so as soon as that comes down i will get the potted up seedlings across to that space. Im busy modifying that space and i will get some pics up of it at the weekend or maybe a short video explaining how i build my rooms.

Hello, Cult. My next grow is actually hugely based on your arguments and impression about growing.
I have germinated just a few days before you so I guess I’m lucky enough to ask you a few questions right before starting. I have read all your journals and the how to grow in coco guide but still have a few questions left.

After looking at my gear, do you think
1. The plants are too much or enough? I am following your advice for 4 plants x20l (19 in my case for each 600w)
2. Do you think following the rule 15% of the pot size as watering/day is enough? I know your saying about how we should water until its wet, but the bag is light enough to be lifted the next day, however I am kind of perfectionist so I prefer to put exact amount of water and raise it cause I cant say I’m that advanced yet and I am handwatering so I feel more comfortable that way.
3. Do you think my light is enough for that space, what can I improve or adjust?
4. Can I substitute Big Buddhas Flower Burst with AN Bud Blood?
5. Can I substitute Big Buddhas Advanced MetaBoost with H&G Top Booster or Canna Boost Accelerator or any AN similar product?
6. Can I substite Buddhas Tree PK with AN Big Bud or Canna PK 13/14 or or H&G Bud XL?
7. I have never growed in coco, only in soil so far so I would also like to ask, how long do you think I should veg these plants? They are very sativa dominant
8. What should I choose between BioBizz Coco and CANNA Coco?

I was pondering your method of sterilization and for it to truely be sterilized pouring boiling water probly dosent do that. However if you throw paper towels in a topped caserole dish, bowl with seran wrap, or ive even seen ziplock bags with some water and set in microwave then heated till steaming. Let sit 5-10min you will have a Sterilized bach of papertowels.

Haha i know nothing about herb but i sure know how to keep contams away. Mushroom tek*

Welcome.

I will just answer your questions point by point.

1. Yes 4 plants per 600w hps is fine in 19litre pots but of course it also depends on how big you plan to grow them.

2.15% watering daily is probs a little low once plants are flowering and rooted but again it depends on how long you have vegged for and what your root mass is. When hand watering coco its better to just adapt the feeds daily to the needs of the plant. With one manual feed daily you def want to allow pots to partially dry out between feeds to avoid fungus gnats.
3. Yes i think you have adequate light for that set up. Be difficult to add any more light without creating problems with heat. You want minimum 400w m2 and you have more than that so thats good.
4. Substitue buddhas tree flower burst with AN Bud Ignitor.
5. I would avoid Canna products altogether peraonally apart from cannazym, no need to substitute this product. Just use big bud if you are using AN.
6. As above.
7.if you are growing from seed id say roughly 5 weeks from germination, 6 max because you will run out of height if veg any longer when running sativa dominant strains. Even when training plants it could be difficult to keep height down. Remember coco will grow alot faster than soil and produce bigger plants.
8. Go with the biobizz cuzz coco. You can use canna coco professional if you must but that would ve my last pick.

Thanks your right and i will keep that in mind. To be honest i never really tbought much about it other than i know boiling water kills alot of germs and its always worked for me lol. Its def more effevtive than using water straight out of the tap.

I grow in pure coco normally but o am using 60/40 mix in my flood and drain set up. I usually run straight pebbles in it but with the coco it affords some protection if theres a pump failure or if tank runs low and im not around to fix it right away.

In most my rooms i have people who do work when i cant be there and not all workers are created the same. Ive had loada problems with running pebbles over past couple years on the grows i cant personally maintain 24/7 so thats why im using 60/40 mix.

All other plants including mothers will go in straight coco.

So, I've got everything straight, will update you cause I'm using your feed methods, I think it would be useful information for the other people using your growing methods.
So Buddhas Tree PK and Metaboost can be replaced with only Big Bud Coco from AN, correct?
I just dont have that brand in my country :/

Ive had a lay off for several months but now im back to work. I wasnt going to journal any more as i feel ive shared alot over past 8 years here at 420 and I didnt want to bore people by showing the same things over and over. So what am I going to show? I have only a few grows going at the moment. I will show pics of those and share what i am doing. But im in the process of setting up a few more rooms also so i will show you those smaller rooms and discuss what im doing in them.

Right now I have some Amnesia Haze hybrid clones started, i only potted them up a few days and i noticed they had spider mite after i potted up so theres a battle on my hands already. I have some DR Krippling Blue Cripple growing in coco coir and also i have some gorilla glue growing in a flood and drain set up that also has some issues going on so i will show that too. These grows are worked by other people under my instruction from my home at the other side of Europe so i cant physically be at these grows physically too often. Showing these grows will show what pitfalls can fall upon newer growers and also what happens when people dont do their jobs correctly. I will show the good and the bad.

But the main focus of the journal will be on what i will personally grow. I have:

Barneys Farm Liberty Haze x40 feminized
Seedism BLZBud x40 feminized
Dark Horse Genetics Kings Banner x10 regular
Elemental Seeds Huckleberry x10 regular

So thats 100 seeds to start and hopefully i will get 100% germination on these.

The femized seeds will likely be split between 4 flower rooms with probably 6000w of light per flower room, however that is subject to change. I think i will put the BLZBud half under 3 1030w Ninthplanet quasar LEDs, super powerful lights with an actual draw of 1030w from the wall. All the rest will be under 600w or 1000w hps.

The regular seeds will be split between 2 rooms and the goal is to flower them out and select some mother plants from them. I will show how i pick mother plants and talk about the benefits of correctly selecting strong genetics from regular seeds instead if mothering feminized plants.

This journal will be jam packed with lots of information and again a guide to growing in coco coir which ive perfected over years of continuous growing.

I will answer all questions to the ebst of my ability and i encourage participation by all. I dont mind banter but lets try to keep the focus on subject as journals with 100's of pages of banter are hard to follow if new people join later in the process. Please dont PM me with questions if they are related to the grows. I sometimes get too many pms with the same old questions, if we address questions in the journal everyone benefits, there are no stupid questions, if you dont know something then you dont know its no problem.


So with all that said here are the seeds ive purchased today. I spent around £600 on these. I will get them germing tomorro and show how i will get 100 seeds to root. I will just add pics from the various grows as we go.

Cult! Great to have you back. I haven't been around myself for quite a while. I decided to brush the dust off and get back at it. I'll follow along for sure! Definitely wouldn't want to miss this. I'm sure a whole new generation of growers will appreciate it as well!!
 
Really looking forward to this one cult, glad to have ya back doing a journal pal! Can't wait to learn some more from you. Very interested In learning about how you pick your mother plants. Loving the video updates also. Hope to see more of those! .
 
Also if you're having problems with uploading on the app. Have you updated it lately? Mine is working much better since a very recent update was released. As you're on android like me you should see there is a little arrow pointing upwards inside a circle on the left hand side of the screen of the text box you type into. When you press that it will the bring up some icons at the bottom of the screen with a camera, gallery, emoji and a paper clip icon etc. Hope this helps!
 
Thanks Terp im managing to use desktop mode which i much prefer as its what ive always used and know my way around the forum using that.

So heres a few pics of some different grows....

These first pics are if an alien flood and drain set up, 24 plants under 6 lights and its really not great. Now i will say this, its always a bonus to get any weed at all considering there are many obstacles than can mean there is no weed at the end of a grow so im alwYs grateful foe something. However..... there were teething problems with the setbup, even though ive done many grows using this set up and find it rather simple to do, i often make the assumption thay others would find it easy also. I guess thats not the case. Now im not bitching about the help on this one as he is completely brand new and has never grown before so i can only blame myself for the wway the room is set up and the product t is there. The strain is GG#4 and quality wise it isnt bad. We are at week 6 of flower. I think theres def 3 weeks left on this one. So i will get this finished then i will rebuild and modify the room. So you will see it now and then in a few weeks and it will be night and day....

Now we have some Amnesia Haze hybrid that i have in Spain. There arw 16 clones here. Again there were issues here, i just love drama as you will see lol. My partner grabbed the clones and put them.under a 600w hps and a 300w 64k cfl. Nothing wrong with that, apart from she never checked them foe bigs and they were covered in spidermite.... so they have been treated with killermite and i am sending over some plant vitality next week which should deal with the prob. Its a pain really because it means my place is now contaminted but i just have to deal with it now. I have a friend who i work with from time to time who has just moved to spain to enjoy the good life and he will go pull those plants around for me until i get back at the end of the month.

The plants have been stripped back and bent to start some lst training. These get real tall so need to get them wide and low. I had a great result with these earlier in the year so hopefully i can replicate that. Its just a small grow where i will pull 2 ir 3 kgs. But its nice to have some quality weed around for when friends and family come over. Anyway its early days but heres the pics....

Quality wise its ok bit those pics in the dark dont show its true colours. The buds are tiny and sparse. I think some of the plants will only have an oz on and i was ezpecting 5 per plant. I will get some better pics up over weekend. As i said any weed is better than no weed and after the year ive had i take nothing for granted. However this should be 100oz + room easy and i tjink it be half that.

When i take this down i will completely redo the room. I will get the waĺls neatly covered in mylar, more lights up - likely 8-10 600w hps, change media to pebbles and coco 60/40 mix and get some better airflow going. Its all a bit micky mouse at the moment and its just not good enough. This is an amateur set up and im quite annoyed with it and it comes down to lazyness really. There are no excuses when the budget allows for the room to be built well and i have given the instructions. But pointless dwelling on it, we will fix the space and if there are more issues people will lose their jobs but i hope.it doeant come to that just yet.
