Highya Krissi,

I won't keep you long! Looks like you're a busy lady! Hope the visits are going well!

Your ladies are so gorgeous!! Major trichome production already! Loved the macro shot! They look so happy and huge buds! Happy Smokin'

Hope you enjoy the whirlwind!!
I did Gid but man am I spent. Yes, the non-cannabis friendly events were actually quite fun this year...maybe everyone was just super in the Christmas spirit but whatever it was, thank God. Hope you made it through too, buddy.
They just get more beautiful 😍 every day.. 👍👍💚
Thanks so much SJ5, sounds like I made you into a robot from Star Wars, I like it. Do you mind it? SJ5? My pet name for you...love these girls, they are giving back all the love I put out to them for sure.

They went well, Bode, thank you! How was the holiday with Julie?!

I appreciate that. I love looking at them and smelling them myself! Really are packing on weight and trichomes right now at the start of Week 4, as they should be, but these ones are special, I'm certain of it!

Apologize for no updates this morning, I slept in with the baby. Girls should have been fed last night but I crashed and I was going to get up and feed them but again, I was still crashed. Soooo, they'll be OK with a feed tonight, just had to wait an extra day for it is all. No biggie. Thank God for these water reserve pots, really help me out for moments like this. Had they have been in regular pots, I wouldn't have this leeway.

Cheers friends, be back tonight or in the wee hours. Since I slept, I can go back to the insomnia train now. See you all riding it this week at some point, I'll be sure to walk through all the cars and see who is around

😂 No worries..

Highya Krissi,

Our Christmas we spent right here at home. At this age, laid-back works for us! I was invited to my son's for an afternoon thing, but I cancelled out with feeling pretty sick in the digestive system. I'm having to be very careful what I eat lately. Wait until you get more age to you. You'll have a better understanding. Anyways, Happy Smokin'

Oh no Bode! How is your tummy tum tum today?? Feeling better I hope! I'm sorry your stomach was under the weather for the holiday but I'm glad that you ans Julie just kicked back and relaxed, you need that! Hope you're smoking some good SSH or Mobstah or Apollo this morning, had a tummy friendly breakfast and are staying warm!

Oh hello again everyone. I took all these pics last night, couldn't upload them until today because, well, sleep. I was a sleepy sleepy girl last few days and it really has taken a toll on me. I apologize for my shortcomings!

I'm back though with a lovely update for you guys on our 2nd Zombie Death, GIZMO.

We talked about her younger sister, SPIKE, the other day and also about one of the parents to this OG LA KUSH X GIRL SCOUT COOKIES strain in OG LA KUSH. Today, we will flip that and touch upon the ever so popular strain, GSC.

I like doing this to see what developmental similarities and differences come up between the parents and their chlorophyll children as well as what qualities we can look for come harvest and smoke that stem from each of the parents.

The tent sits at DAY 29 FLOWER and today is Days 87/88. And tbh, I totally thought today was Thursday until I just walked over to look at the calendar and low and behold, it's only Wednesday friends! I thought I was a day behind in feeding these girls yesterday but I wasn't. Oh man, these holidays and my brain fog are not a good combination!

These girls are absolutely massive and just so incredibly full of life from the @Cultiuana CT-720 light. I knew we would do big things with this LED but I wasn't expecting such a beautiful and healthy 4x4 tent of 5.

They were given nutrients and Stacker (round 3, 7ml p/gl) last night. All drank pretty close to 2gl each. Next feed will be a full CMAG and the remainder in round 4, the final stage of our Silica/Stacker mix, which is 8ml p/gl. I have absolutely seen an increase in final yield using the Humboldt's mix.

My new castings came in as well as more seabird guano and these girls will get some of that and bat guano in a topping in about 2 weeks. It will be their last booster shot and it will follow them through harvest as they use up all those @Prescription Blend nutrients packing it on while staying in tip-top shape!

Without further adieu, let's start the GSC parental talk....with one of this strain's parents being a Kush also, we have a lot of Kush qualities to be seen in this Zombie Death strain.

WHAT IS GSC

The byproduct of OG Kush mixed with F1 Durban- Durban Poison x F1, Girl Scout Cookies, like so many other awesome weed strains hails from the West Coast of the US where she created waves of raving excitement among cannabis lovers shortly after she came to the scene.

Girl Scout Cookies is an indica/sativa hybrid that began as a crossbreed of an OG Kush, which is a legendary balanced indica/sativa with a Durban Poison- a pure sativa. She has a 60% indica dominance throughout her makeup.

So big was the excitement about this super-potent strain that it didn’t take long until these waves and her stellar reputation reached Europe and the rest of the world. Today she is the best selling strain on the West Coast and the most popular strain in North America.

SMOKING HER

She provides a Sativa-like head-buzz and good flavor from the Durban Poison, as well as a heavy body-melt from the OG Kush. Just one of Girl Scout Cookies superb traits is her crazy powerful high that mixes happiness and euphoria with up-until-now uncharted depths of relaxation along with her excellent taste. Said differently, she more than deserves her reputation and that she’s the talk of so many cannabis lovers these days!

LOOKS/SMELLS/TASTES

The appearance of Girl Scout Cookies is simply wonderful. Tons of different shades of light green mixed with a bit of purple and orange hairs makes this a spectacle for all to see.

The fresh smell is pretty unique as well, but the Girl Scout Cookies strain’s smoke-ability and potency are the standout attributes on this all-star’s trading card. The flavor is one-of-a-kind, reminiscent of brown sugar and pepper spice with a slight nutmeg undertone.

 THC

What makes her stand out is her crazy THC content that can reach a staggering 28%. With these impressive numbers, these scouting girls are one of the most potent strains available today.

I think we were all sold on this strain already but my hopes are to sell you on its child, my Zombie Death. With a mix of this delectable phenotype paired with that of OG LA KUSH, this is a strain worth a trial.

Already seeing the massive sugar production on these oh so pretty and colorful buds, makes me one happy Ganja Mama! So glad I was able to find these seeds and run them to the best of my ability thus far. Let's keep it going!

That's all for today, I'll check back in later. Hope everyone has recovered from the holidays, your grows or grow preparations are going well and hopefully, you know what day it is without needing to look on a calendar.

Salute!

Highya Krissi,

Some gorgeous bud pictures there, girl! Thick with trichomes, and some have a purplish color already! ZDF is a beautiful looking strain in your tent!! You do grow some gorgeous plants!! It still amazes me! I did like the write-up about Girl Scout Cookies. I've never researched many strains, so I don't know much like that, only what I have grown.
I apologize for my shortcomings!
No need to apologize!! You're only human! That's what happens when we are spread too thin! It'll seem nice again when things calm down.
it's only Wednesday friends!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who can get confused, lol. Another result of spreading too thin. I know real life is first, and it doesn't happen like this very often. And yes, I'm glad it's only Wednesday. I have a Grandfather Clock with marks on the glass door to indicate the day of the week. I always wind our clock Sunday Morning, so the marks tell me what day of the week it is, without looking on the computer.
I hope you're getting enough rest, now. And hope you're having a great day! Happy Smokin'

I am more than thoroughly enjoying growing this strain, my hopes that it's markedly high THC and cerebral effects come smoke time live up to the excitement growing it has built.

Awww thank you, I certainly do try to give it my all and all my love for sure

I love to do the research. Learn about grows I want to try in the future this way and what grows I want to make sure I run again. Even gives me glimpses into my cross breeding future-my retirement stash collection of creative strains built just for me!
No need to apologize!! You're only human! That's what happens when we are spread too thin! It'll seem nice again when things calm down.
I think I am more than human some days, feel disappointed in myself when I'm behind

Me too, I didn't want to go up North tomorrow already!

I need bright neon signs I think with alarms, loud alarms

I am, leisurely afternoon in the backyard letting the baby ride his new Spiderman ATV. Called my parents and drank about 7 cups of coffee so far. Seems to be the working #!
Looking mighty fine! Can't wait until I get to push the prescription blend on my next run! Excited!
You're going to absolutely fall in love!
Your garden is A.m.a.z.i.n.g
Papa, thanks so much, I appreciate that and the girls feel the love from you for sure!

Sometimes I wonder what shall I talk about today? Will I be able to keep everyone's interest in my journals? Will I bore them? What can I add to this journal entry to make it a little different? What focus can we have that doesn't make this all too cumbersome yet provides just enough information?

I am not an experienced grower in terms of length of growing time. With a year and a half under my belt, I feel it challenging sometimes trying to gain respect in a veteran grower based community like this. I have so much to learn, how could I ever teach? But as an athlete and an academic through my years, I've learned that you can teach anything. It's the love and the heart and the green thumb that are harder to attain.

I know this much. I know my plants. I know I will find everything I can to make them better. To make me better, with each grow. Learning and reading up on all this stuff I throw into the journals, adds up. It adds up to a lot of education in a field where I feel a lack of expertise.

I hope I can provide what you need while encouraging us all to stay open minded and positive on our cannabis journeys. I want us to grow together-that is my main goal.

I keep every plant, I don't discriminate. I grow to grow not for financial gains or for notoriety I grow for self-health. I grow for peace. Peace of mind. Peace of self. Peace of a community.

Today we are moving our PLANT OF THE DAY back around to our @Weed Seeds Express Sirius Black, FALKOR.....

This PURE BRED indica is a meticulous creation by WSE and she is currently at: DAY 89 DAY 30 FLOWER

She is an amazing grow and smoke with the most outrageous flavors and aromas. She flows like a river, her leaves just seem to be riding a green wave into cannabis oblivion.

I took some MACRO shots of her using my new MACRO LENS. I was able to capture some guttation (the white blob you see in the following photos. I thought it was just a popped resin sack but from what @Graytail said, looking at its color and comparing it to photos, it does seem like guttation.

Grateful to him for being an integral part of this community and educating me on that verbiage. I'd never heard if guttation before. Just another learning event like we talked about and here is my ability to teach and pass on what I've learned.

:hmmmm::hmmmm::hmmmm::reading420magazine::reading420magazine::reading420magazine::nomo::nomo::nomo::idea:

GUTTATION: This is a process in which water seeps out at the tips or edges of a plant's leaves. The water is from xylem — the main water transport tissue in a plant. Usually, extra water escapes through tiny holes in the plant's leaves and stem called stomata.

Guttation image from Google: (also where I'm hoping to take my MACRO imagery with all my tools and continued practice using then all in conjunction with one another)

Screenshot_20221229_021853.jpg

Moving on, I got some nice pics of our Sirius Black, Falkor's, amazingly glorious dense and shimmery undercarriage buds. The lollipop pruning technique has worked seemingly very well with this strain and she has wonderful light penetration because of it under this @Cultiuana CT-720 LED Grow Light-despite the fact she is packed in there with 4 other massive ladies.

Checking back in with her deficiency we started seeing around Week 2 on her bottom most cola branch. It was a CMAG DEF that we encountered and we remedied it with a full dose of BUSH DOCTOR CMAG and a topping of earthworm castings, about 1cup across the top of her soil. The deficiency has not grown and has since been stabilized.

Comparing her to the other plants in the tent in terms of size, I got some angled shots to show how she compares to each of the other strains in Gelato-K, Gorilla Glue Super Lemon Haze and Zombie Death. Remember to note that in this tent we have 2 Indica dominants, not just Falkor. Our GGSLH, despite her structure, is an Indica  dominant, can see this shine through in her very dense nugs as well as her jumbo fan leaves.

:surf::surf::surf::surf::reading420magazine::reading420magazine::reading420magazine::reading420magazine:

Springing in one off-plant focus of the day picture as we look at one of Spike's inner fan leaves I took off today. I didn't want to get rid of it as it had Spike's signature zig zag line but you couldn't see it anyway the way her buds and that plant is growing. I just found comfort knowing it was there cause it's pretty rad.

The main focus of this leaf is not Spike's Squiggle though, it's the strain specific twisted shape of the Zombie Death leaves that I wanted to make note of. As this strain was half dead when it was bred, on accident, part of the name came from its bizarre Zombie-like features, including but not limited to leaves that are misshapen as such

The Sirius Black plant as I said, has a certain flow to her the way her leaves move in and out and around this plant is just very sexy for lack of any better terminology. She's a real stunner, nice bod girl....

She has some incredible purple hues coming in on most of these flowing leaves. Lots of colors building up within the flowers themselves. Trichome production is very heavy all the way to the bottom of the plant's stalks. She smells as good as she looks and just like you would think she smells-like a berry garden.

That's a wrap folks! Happy early New Year's to all, I hope everyone is safe this next holiday. I'll be home so no need to worry about me. Fingers crossed I'll have bestie over for our annual NYE smoke party once the baby goes to sleep and we can practice making some resin with the press! That's my NYE goal as of now!

Did you notice the guttation drop after watering or closer to a dry period. I know that when tomato or cabbage get too much water, when ripe, they can crack

Day after feeding. Just saw it today and they got watered last night. Same deal with the Big Bull, Alvin, in the 3x3!

Spectacular as usual, @Krissi Carbone . And I'm with you, never stop learning. :thumb:

Fun fact about castings. When the worms feed and excrete their manure it comes out covered in a calcium carbonate slime which hardens into the castings which dry to like little ball bearing-type balls.

There's something magic about whatever goes through the gut of a worm and the end product is much better than the sum of whatever went through the front end. More and better microbes and the extra calcium are two of the reasons.

Thanks Azi. Means a lot to have all the positive energies here with these girls. As for learning, it is incessant and I relish in that. There is always something new to educate ourselves with and/or new techniques to try out, I'm willing to try them all!

That is interesting Azi, thank you! I think castings should be a staple to anyone's growing regimine. They are just chock full of good stuff and it is uptaked so easily by our plants!

Looking awesome! Love the purple tones on the Sirius Black. In regards to gaining respect amongst the more experienced growers, I would like to think that you have already earned it. It's OK to be the person in the room that isn't the smartest but instead, can rally people together and provide a positive environment. Don't beat yourself up too much, you are an exceptional grower, writer and person.

Highya Krissi,

What a great journal entry! I don't know where to begin. That Serious Black is such a pretty plant! Her colas from the top view are so nice to look at. Purple colors, Quantum trichomes, Gorgeous symmetry! How Gorgeous!

I wanted to discuss the ZDF breeding thing. I've never thought about the whole scenario. Amazing how plants pick-up traits as a norm. The upper part of them also shows signs of phosphorus deficiency. So maybe that's one of those traits. But, that would explain unusual grow patterns in a strain. Very informative. Ty

green wave into cannabis oblivion
Sounds like the way I want to go!

Oh, and I wanted to mention how gorgeous your GGxSLH looks. I'm hoping to remember that one. Happy Smokin'

Oh me too, but give her 2 weeks. The last 2 weeks of flowering she really takes off on the color charts. So many beautiful, bright colors. She looks like she is drawn on with paint or something...and come harvest she was just so shiny and almost silver because of all the trichomes

In regards to gaining respect amongst the more experienced growers, I would like to think that you have already earned it.
I would hope so. Its just like every new man on a team though, have to consistently provide a consistent game to truly gain that respect from those who have been in the game longer. Just hoping that people trust in my process and understand that this is just something I happen to be good at.
It's OK to be the person in the room that isn't the smartest but instead, can rally people together and provide a positive environment.
I am a very firm believer that if you put good out, good comes back. That if you surround yourself with good energy and positivity, it is a catalyst for perpetuated good energies. So long as I can keep that happy environment open to any and all who want to hang out there, I know only good things will come of it.
Don't beat yourself up too much, you are an exceptional grower, writer and persoBeaut
Awww if you hadn't heard yet I still have pregnancy hormones nearly 4 years later so whenever I hear something sweet like that, I almost tear up. Means a whole lot, it really does. To put effort into something as much as I do, my TK isn't to best at giving compliments-it is kind of deflating but then I think of all of you who are so in my corner with pom poms it's crazy and it all balances out.

Thanks again Gid.

Highya Krissi,
Hey there Bode-a-roo!
What a great journal entry! I don't know where to begin. That Serious Black is such a pretty plant! Her colas from the top view are so nice to look at. Purple colors, Quantum trichomes, Gorgeous symmetry! How Gorgeous!
Oh boy, thanks so much! I told you she was a glorious gal! But you remember Onyx from last year's winter Amazon grow. @Weed Seeds Express really outdid themselves with this particular squat Indica.

I think our girl Falkor will outdo her though, on a few fronts, she has an extra 2 inches to her to start and I didn't lollipop Onyx or use Flower Stacker or @DYNOMYCO or bone meal during that grow!
Ty
Maybe it is! In fact, I'm pretty sure on most of the photos I have seen of this Zombie Death strain on the internet, they do have they are vascular purple, come to think of it...so maybe? Or maybe they just need lots of phosphorus! More phosphorus to come as the girls approach their full dose of Humboldt's Flower Stacker next feed and then a final topping with all the good amendments in about two weeks.
Sounds like the way I want to go!
Woo-hoo!
Oh, and I wanted to mention how gorgeous your GGxSLH looks. I'm hoping to remember that one. Happy Smokin'
How can you not remember this one! She was a Gigi and man did we love Gigi but Gigi vegged for 56 days, Spicoli only 44 and she is monstrous. Definitely much thicker than Gigi was and she gave us tons of bud so I'm excited as can be to see what this second run of a GGSLH will produce!

She is my last seed I think, unless I have 1 more, I have to check. Out of Sirius Black now too so looks like I need to get a few of my favorites back in the cabinet before Spring!

Happy Smoking Bode!
