CS21 First Grow Ever!

Sup all... been a few days of not a whole lot of action on the end of my girls... they are just recovering nicely... (a little slower than I would have liked but hey what can ya do) hahaha!!
I may have an issue on my hand with them I will talk about in a minute anyway...
On other fronts my WW has popped its head up and is looking healthy!! I am seriously debating putting it in a dwc bucket for a trail run to get the hang of it a little bit!! Not 100% sure yet.
I picked up the GH for a series nutes if I do decide to (I probably will lol).
I also added Armor Si as well seeing I was not previously giving my plants any Silica. So much to learn!! So I built a cheap little setup to run. I will use the 2nd bucket to already have ready with feed that has ran for 24 hours with the air stone before switching. I think that will work well.

So the issue I was talking about earlier basically falls down to this. I am leaving for vacation April 23 and I feel as if I continue to mainline these that I wont be ready for harvest before I leave. (Which is something that is kind of important!!) I have someone who can come over to open jars and cure for me). So I think if I flip by Feb. 7, that give me 11 weeks till I leave, I think I would be okay.
So I built a double scrog. One smaller standing one with the floating 3.5×3.5 to hang over the top.
Not 100% sure what to I should do.
Will another 20 days be long enough to veg these and still get a good yield??
Let's smoke some good Chron and think it over!!! Haha

Hey Penny, Happy Sunday!!.
Well that kinda sucks but not a whole lot else I can do... the trip was not really planned or I never would have mainline these...
My thoughts are at least if I give them the right amount of flowering time that the yield may be a bit smaller but should still be high quality... (most important to me!!)
Is scrogging going to be the best way for me to get the best yield I can or is there a better way for me??

Doing a scrog would have them in veg for a considerable time. Maybe a topping and some lst would work better. If you weren’t pressed for time a scrog would be sweet.

Ok... thank you as always for your advice Penny. I will have you to thank at the end of this process for sure. You are always so helpful!!
So actually I was doing some investigating and all 3 strains I have are only 7-9 week flowering time so I think if I flipped by Feb 14 that would still be 10 to flower the girls
So I actually have 3 weeks and 4 days till I need to switch!!
Would that be enough time to finish the traditional mainlining?? Or top one more time and do it like the nebula method? Or would that extra week be enough time to run the scrog? What do you think would yield the best?
Please guide me with your knowledge Penny!! Lol

Ok, sounds great!! Maybe I will try my hand at both methods and see how they turn out. So by giving them time for going vertical... would 2 weeks be enough time after my last topping or should it be longer? From what I have read the Blue Dream and the GG#4 tend to stretch more anyway (6 out of the 7). and the WW will probably stay shorter.
Tomorrow is one week from first topping.
Do any of these look ready to be topped soon again yet Penny? I was thinking the traditional ones could be topped at 2nd node or should I do the 3rd for more space? And the nebulas I will top after 3rd and then take away the 2nd node.
I was hoping tomorrow I might be able to top a few, but i dont want to rush them too much!!

Well here we go!! 3 of the girls have had their second topping, and will look to do the 3rd and final one in another week, which will give 2 weeks and 5 days for the final growth before switching to flower.
The other ones I will do the nebula style and I think they will be ready to top their 2nd and final time a few days before these ones. (About 3 or 4 more days from now)
So they will have about 3 weeks to veg before flipping.
Hopefully all works out well. I mean my expectations aren't too high seeing as I'm as GREEN as you can get when it comes to growing anything, so as long I can get to harvest successfully and get something nice to smoke I will be quite happy and I am confident that I will continue to improve my skills in time and experience.

By that is there something you mean in particular?
Should I back the lights off a couple inches to make them reach a little more?? Right now I have around 850w (True Watts) on them at 24" with both switches on...
I really noticed my stalks were not that thick and I did more reading and have now added silica to their diet!! So I'm hoping to see that change.
Also I should state they are now getting;
Feeding around 450-550ml/day at 600ppm
RO water with calmag ar 200ppm,
Then Canna A+B to 600ppm
Then I add Cannazym and Rhizotonic and now I am also adding Armor Si (silica)
And I feed at 5.8PH
Temps and humidity are pretty solid and stay within a good range.
If there is anything I should be doing please let me know.

Super interested in the progression of this grow continue growing you've got a green thumb for sure.

Well thank you very much!! I have definately had a couple of bumps along the way which I will learn from and move forward, but I absolutely love it, it is becoming a very happy hobby for me to spend my cold canadian winters doing.
And welcome aboard for the ride and I sure hope I can turn out a quality product in the end of this grow.
But with the help of the guys and gals around the forums here I feel like I have a huge advantage!!

Hey 420 Fam.
The girls are happy and healthy looking as ever to me, the ones that were topped look as if they are recovering fine and the others that were not topped are growing faster than ever. I won't bore you with pics.
But I do have 2 part question about DWC if there is anyone who could help me out.
I have a WW seedling that looks like the tap root will be poking out anytime soon and I'm gonna put it in my 6"net pot and hydroton and place it in a 2.5 gallon bucket.
First question is I sprouted my seed in a jiffy pellet, will that have any effect on my plant. I have read mixed things but do believe it's ok especially cause I'm only running a single bucket. What do you guys think about the matter?
My 2nd question is this, even when I am top feeding should I have some nutrient solution an inch below the net pot with the air stone going to create some humidity or is it worthless until the tap root is showing out of the net pot?

they look like they are enjoying such a great environment you've provided for them.
Thanks you so much!!
I can say this. All the way through I have little doubt on the enviroment they are in... the temps stay very consistant to where I want them, and the humidity has not been an issue either, I have 3 fans going in there and also have the carbon fan as well. And I think that the lighting I have is more than enough for right now.
I will most likely get a 1000w hps to throw in before switching to flower.
Definately all the error that I have experienced has been human error hahaha... which is good cause that is easier for me to correct, I will learn from my mistakes. I believe that I was not feeding quite enough either early on so i have bumped everything up and they really seem to be happy. I can also see noticable thickness in the stalks since adding the silica.
So hopefully they have a happy rest of their lives lol.
