Crop King's White Widow - Coco Coir - LED

I have to admit, I have a really hard time keeping my hands off the girls. Topping, training, LST......you gotta do it Shop, take the plunge on a Friday night and start pinning the girls down, lol....

Haha. I will tie them down in the flower room. Cant do it in the veg side, hard to move them to flower.

First time around, by this point I had started training. Due to space restrictions I cannot; it's driving me nuts, lol.

It was time to make room in the flower area for some clones. That means I have some sour d hanging. Had a nice little chop session this morning.

OMG I can't wait for that day, .....congratulations man, nice haul! How many plants did you chop?

I have a little extra time, seems the family is sleeping in a little longer today. I figured I would take this time to do a little side segment on how I prepare my coco. I buy the bricks.

Disclaimer:
I am by no way a expert, but not so much a noob. I learned by making every mistake you possibly can. I have 1.5 years with soil (my learning experience) and Just coming on 2 years with coco. I have brought 42 plants from seed to harvest in coco prepared just like this. Only one deficiency so far and was easily corrected with a little bit of silica blast. I understand everyone is different in how they prepare the coco. This is how I do it. That being said I do love constructive comments. If you feel I am losing out on something because of the way I am doing it please let me know. Thanks.

Like most everyone, before I started with coco I did a lot of research. I liked how most everybody is on the same page when it comes to growing in it. Its great. You want to grow like soil go for it, you want hydro then this is it. I wont go into detail on the science of it, many others have already done that. I will answer any questions as to why I do it this way. Everyone out there says to rinse your coco a few times to get the salt out. My first time preparing coco I did not. I soaked it in water way to much water, hand broke it up. By hand would squeeze the water back into bin then put coco in the pot. I did not ph or add anything to the water. I used bagged seeds fed with same nutes I use now minus the blast. My deficiency didn't show up until I ordered seeds. I have been hooked on coco ever since. Here is how I do it.

I have two large totes. One with holes drilled for drainage. The one without holes I put regular bricks in, to keep the tote with holes in the air.

I then put the tote with holes onto the bricks in the other tote. I then use a t shirt for a "screen" to keep my coco in the one tote. Sometimes I order the small bricks of coco in bulk but this time I have one 5k brick.

Once again without adding anything I try and use just enough water for the brick to soak up and not have much extra. I let the brick soak for a few hours then ill break it up and add more water if needed. Very little if any needs to be added. Most of the time I will let sit over night and its ready to broke up.

Thanks for sticking around for this longer than usual post. I will answer any questions you may have. I do like to think I know a little bit about coco. If not from reading it, then by me seeing it first hand. Here are my sour ds A few days away from a few days of final flush.

Missed this in the past. Seems pretty simple too. Both have advantages and disadvantages I guess.

Mmmmm! Hey, did you renovate, lol? You can use them for the wood pile!

Haha. You are correct! I have a pallet shack with a rubber roof for the next years wood and a nice screened room for the current winters wood. No tarps needed there. The tarps are only 3ft by 3ft. Any more suggestions? I have a crap ton. As of now prolly going to store a couple and give away or throw away rest.

Lol.....a 3x3 tarp. I was going.....hmmmmm....what could you use those for? I can't think of anything other than over the seats in the tin boat overnight, lmao. Looks great in there. How's the littlest doing?

Its the start of a new week and time to up the nutes.

7ml a+b
4ml blast

The ladies have been topped and looking nice. Staying short and bushy. I have been moving leaves out of the way and at same time just bending the branches out a little. They move back kinda fast but while bent the inside branches get some light. I will tie them down when I move to flower.

When I did the flower side it was a last min decision and getting late. So I should say hopefully tonight I have enough time to get the veg done. At least off the one wall and floor.

I'm just busting your balls, I thought you'd thrown old pictures in and you were trying to fool us.....either that or you were checking to see if I was paying attention, lol. Girls are looking great!

Ahhhh I wish everyone saw the humour in my humour, lol. I thought they were on purpose to catch me off guard this morning.......I almost had to lol.

I was embarrassed to show them, lmao. It's funny, my buddy said to me, " you could get lucky and get two ounces off that thing, speaking of course about my untopped and untrained Auto which is the only one that made it to fruition LOL. I said, "if I get two ounces off that thing I would be thrilled LOL". Not quite 2 zs, but who cares, Baby was kinda an experiment to see what no training would do.
