@Wolfweed on Young ones you don’t want to much light cause you can burn them but not enough will make them spindly and stretch. If your wanting to run HPS I started my 600W at 50% around 24”. Ran it for a few days then cracked it to 75% and ran it another day then finally lowered it to about 20” during veg. Once your plants get stronger and can take more light you can crank it up to full wattage and adjust your height from there watching your plants to see what they tell you! As long as you don’t see and heat stress or light stress you should be good to go from there to harvest! Hope that helps !

Thank you Dutch man..I didn't realise I can adjust strength on light must be on balast

Not an HPS guy...that would be @Preston9mm! I'd wait on the transplant until you see roots.
Yeah buddy! :high-five: I'm pretty impressed with them. Not sure my style could work in a tent though! LoL Them babies are set as high as then can be, and cranked to 100% all the time now-a-days. I'm still running a/c on full blast with outside temps in the 30's. These B's get hot!
o_O
But they are effective!

I'll only be running them for my winter run from now on. I'm gonna migrate back to some sort of LED next spring.

I have never run any other HPS fixtures, so I have no real reference point, but I would guess 250w would be much better suited in a small space than what I'm running now, for sure.

Stay lifted y'all!

Another little trick to get your lights an inch or 2 lower, if you have the means to do it, run an extra oscillating fan between the canopy & light fixtures. It breaks up that heat intensity off the bulbs so the plants will tolerate a bit more.

Oh yeah...and Dutch! He's an HPS guy too.

I've made a note...
and me !!. i have 2x600hps cool tubes but do use a 200w fluorescent to birth them and root the cubes before daring moving to the hps.

Chucked all my girls into flower!. I swear though the flower gods have put a hex on me. EVERY time ive gone to put girls into flower my power goes crazy. Had a 36h blackout but again as has happened several times before its kicked my girls into flower quicktime! Black sugar looks a lil unhappy, im chalking it up to temps from the blackout (heater was off also) for the minute but if she doesn't perk up by feeding time im gonna give her a flush and feed as it looks like it could be PH related also. Ill take some pistel shots later on tonight! Blessings people x

Yerrr shes getting chopped in her entirity tonight. Shes still pretty hairy but she's ran out of steam and is looking done trich wise. Gonna have a lot of larf for experimemting though :p
After that 36h dark time of your Brooklyn is ready that would be a perfect choppy choppy time lol! Already gave you the dark cycle :high-five:

Unfortunately I don't have a digital ballast. Its set up for 600w but I have 400w in there (tent open) If I order 250w would it still be compatible do you think? I appreciate you help.
I think you should be able to make that work. Just keep your ventilation dialed in and meticulously monitor temps until you are comfortable with the new "variable".

There's always something that can be done to keep your environment good to go. Worst case scenario, if heat becomes an issue, you could always add some co2. I've seen little disposable co2 treatment canisters that would work in a pinch.

I had no idea what was gonna happen in my grow room when I switched from LED to HPS. It only took a week or so to work out all the kinks. I'm completely satisfied though!

You're gonna be killin' it with your new light set-up!

Well theres been no more 'reach' from the babies in the last 2 days, but leaves have grown...so it might be ok. Any more reaching and I will lower the light and increase fan speed or add another fan. It's getting cold at night outside so i leave window open a little to let the cool air in and give the fan 30-40 rest, as it takes that time to drop from ave 26% to 19%. The rest of the time tent is open, door is open and it helps heat the flat. Is doing this ok?
