Carl how do you like the LED lights compared to HIDs? The thought of not battling heat is nice, but too $$$ right now.

Never used HID's so hard for me to compare but from watching others grows. I would be fighting heat like most of them do when working in smaller spaces. Air flow always seems to go down as space for fans goes away. I went LED for the less heat and cost to run. Over time they will pay for them self.

I couldn't agree more CC, LED's cost a little more upfront compared to HID, HPS but are worth it in the long run. The savings on electricity bills, and the stress of not trying to keep temps in grow under control all the time, I think its totally worth it.

Day 43 from seed
Nothing new took the one small one out to my out door buddy. That plant looked great and he said the ones I gave him couple weeks back are doing great good foot and half high.
Plan to switch them 12/12 tonight. I also plan to take and start one more Maui Waui. This is my back up if the Tahoe or BA are male. Then I will put the MW in under the 12/12 lights and see what I get with 12/12 from seed.
I have been wondering what the yield diffidence is for autos verse going 12/12 from start. In the end on paper not much time difference so it becomes about yield. Might have to experiment

DAY 43 VEG switch to flower recap
Here is my summary
I had old cabinet took made 2 grow areas in it one for starting/flower a main chamber for flowering
I have 3 LED panels
1 Pro Grow 180 for veg/seed chamber
2 from another source they are kind of custom made I can send anyone the info if requested they are in the flower chamber . i really like the fact these have remote ballast your heat is not in the flower chamber
For venting I run PC fans moving air between and into the chambers
Then I run this fan hooked to a big carbon scrubber
PHRESH FILTER 4X12IN
Soler & Palau TD-100XS In-line Exhaust Fan
This thing is quite but cost but it does move air nice and so far my garage does not smell tropical since I put the filter in
That is my box minus some misc stuff . The fans run all the time and do good job keeping temps down.
My plants are 3 diffrent strains
Maui Waui classic
Tahoe Og this classic og was found in smoke smoke i scored back couple months. This is what inspired me to look into growing. I just hope it is a female
Blue Alien was local sourced seeds and cross between DJshorts blueberry (pre-99) crossed with AlienKush (F2)
I started a few other plants for buddy to grow out doors same strains BA and MW
I have been using Strait happy frog organic plant soil . So far I have not had to add any nutes if and when I need to they will be Fox Farm FX14049 Liquid Nutrient Trio Soil Formula
So far pretty boring grow they were little slow due to me using that one small light it would work for seedlings to start but grow you need light . I set myself a week or more of growth because of the light
After moving them to main chamber I had the recirc fan fall on my BA but it did nothing.

Tomorrow they will get switched to 12/12 light so flowers should start forming and the stretch should start

No don't plan to do too much because next grow I am moving to autos. So I really don't see the point in me messing with them too much. Right now in my house I got a sister and a sister-in-law living with us. They know me and wife smoke and it's cool but I like to keep my grow in the low down. I assume they know well I know my sister does as she has walked into the garage with me messing with plants. That is part of the reason for trying to make this set up as low key as possible. Also note I am in legal state everything I have done falls in with my states rules.
So far I have hit the mark minus a little fan noise . This noise is minimal like my wife does not hear it but I do. Which is just a me thing. I am a auto tech for living. My specialty is chasing down stuff like little noises or fixing the cars know one else can. So what noise I got is probably nothing but when I walk out into the garage is all I hear.
I am also working up something new in my head and researching. Might try a 12/12 from seed grow to see what the yield difference is between them and autos. I mean what is the real difference in the two grows. With auto they decided when to go to flower and the 12/12 you are putting them in flower. Might be cheaper as you do not have to buy auto seeds also get access to more strains if you are not doing autos. I been thinking about starting one more Maui Waui and running it 12/12 to see what the difference in yield between it and the normal one I grow. That way I am also good to go if that Tahoe or BA are male I can chop and move the other MW in.

I have never even considered autos. What is the big draw for them? I was thinking you couldn't clone them?

The fact you don't do anything other than grow them. Set the light 20/4 18/6 12/12 don't matter they flower when they want. The idea of just growing them is great. The plant has it's own life cycle. It makes all the choices for you. You just grow it

Here are photos from tonight and this morning
I will be flipping them tonight to 12/12. Trying to decided what timing I will have them on as far as my clock . 8 at night to 8 in the morning seems good that way the heat from the light is on during the coolest time of the day.
Also my pictures of my side project . That is Maui Waui seed in dirt and watered. Going 12/12 from the start will see what I get

They were a little droppy this evening nothing to scare me but more of they look like they are relaxed more. Will keep and eye probably adjusting to the new light. Hmm might wait a day or to to flip the switch now that I think of it hmm
