Couldn't Resist A Christmas Auto Grow

My Caramel King was also a dud. The tail never grew, so I bought a Skywalker Auto, Kush Cut as follows:

SKYWALKER

Genetic Heritage
Skywalker Kush Cut (selected from DNA seeds) x Triangle F3
Seed Type
F7 Feminised Automatic
Indica/Sativa
65/35
Cycle Time
65 to 70 days from sprout

Strain behaviour and structure:

Our auto Skywalker OG is mid-sized, good vigour and growing without too much foliage, by employing an easy strategy of leaf tucking, you can encourage her to shoot branches up with little to zero interference to overall growth. Her open structure allows good penetration and therefore increased yields and minimal pop-corn. Internodal length is moderate and she's very manageable. In the flowering stage she has a very distinctive appearance, Fine leaves eminate from the flowers in an almost spikey fashion and have a tendency to curl upwards, the buds whilst not outrightly singularly large, have incredible density which later become like mini rocks that hit your tray as you trim them. The flowers are very white in apperance. They are spread evenly and give a nice flower/plant size ratio. Odour control is an absolute must whilst growing this variety and if you travel with the finished product, a minimum of double bagging is recommended.

Sending good vibes and good luck for you on this new adventure :rollit:

Thanks Deev and Weff. They are in paper towel and hopefully they'll sprout quickly so I can get them into their starter pots before I leave next week.

I'm starting my second attempt and my seeds are also in a paper towel right now so we'll be about the same stage, I'm doing photos this time though :D

Fingers crossed they sprout in time for your trip.

Friday 16th December 2022 is the day that little Red Russian (RR) and little Skywalker Kush (SK) went into soil. This morning I was very excited to find healthy tails on both seeds. I dusted the hollows with mycorrhizae before popping the sprouts into place. I lightly covered them with soil and sprayed with water / mycorrhizae solution.

They will go under 1600 LUX and this light will come and go according to the daily loadshedding schedule. Currently we are looking at outages of 7.5 hours per day in the area where I live.

A note on the medium: Those of you who were with me for my previous grow will remember that I had a problem starting all four of my plants in the specialist soil I use. It seems that the medium may have been too hot for the babies. This time I have given them a mixture of used cannabis soil mixed with used potting soil. When I pot them up they will go into a similar mixture but this will be revitalized by adding Essential Blend into the mix.

This time I plan to upcan once only, into final pots.

The seedling pots not much bigger than a coffee mug.

Happy Friyay and thanks for stopping by :)

There is confusion and controversy surrounding the Skywalker genetics. Here is part of the story for those who are interested. All I know is that my seed was called Skywalker, the Kush cut. I don't know it's origin or how close to the original Skywalker the genetics are.

Feedback on the CBN oil: My experience is that the CBN makes me drowsy but doesn't keep me asleep for any length of time. Last night I tried mixing a tsp thc oil with a tsp cbn oil and I liked the effect. It made me feel so good before I fell asleep. I think that the combination works well and I will continue in this way.

Here is the downloadable method for making THC oil, which differs slightly in the time and temps for decarb. Still only use enough coconut oil to make a weed mud.

Have you tried eating something fatty with the capsules? Some peanut butter or whatever you'd like would be good. Also, are you taking the CBN right before you hit the pillow?

Your decarb seems short and cool to me, but if it works for you that's all that matters. I'd recommend trying a batch at 240ºF for 60 minutes.

eating something fatty
I haven't yet considered doing this although I do a lot of high fat snacking in the evenings when I have the munchies.

I take it an hour before I want it to work and then I remain awake until I nod off. I can't put my head on a pillow, close eyes and fall asleep. I think I have a high tolerance for most things that put people to sleep.

This is important because it is your tried and trusted method. I would encourage people to use your measurements rather than mine. I know that you arrive at most conclusions after scientific groundwork.

I will know tomorrow night if my decarb worked. The idea was to retain as many terpenes as possible during the decarb and I followed advice given on the internet because I have lost my notes on decarb.

That reminds me. It's time for the oil to come out of the fridge and go back in the oven to heat for a second time. This process will be repeated one more time and the oil will then be strained.

Hey Carmen,

CBD is supposed to help give you a great night's sleep, although it probably won't put you to sleep like some thc can.

In this Video the doctor recommends at least 60mg per day (and up to 120mg I think). I'm just starting a CBD plant so I don't have experience with it yet, but the woman says it's a great SPA treatment for people because it works so well for Sleep, Pain and Anxiety.

If I can get my plants to an almost perpetual grow, then maybe I can have one of the plants CBD and the other THC for each grow cycle. Thanks Azi! I have tried commercial CBDs and I find them ineffective. They probably don't have a high enough concentration of CBD in them.

Or maybe you didn't take a high enough dose? The doc says most people take something like 10mg and the effective therapeutic dose is much higher (60mg).

As I recall one of our most scientific members (Sue) recommended 110c for 110mins.
I'll take any advice you or Sue give me. In this instance I lost my notes and it has been ages since I made oil, so I Googled and found the 30 mins at 104C on Leafly. I will know tomorrow if it did the trick or not.
