Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

I looked on KIS organics so if I get the coots mineral kit then I need peat moss, perlite and ewc it should be water only with just malted barley teas for supplements. It can’t be that easy! Lol

If you don't have a compost heap, your local nursery will! They will also likely have bagged compost as well.

2 brands I can get locally are (and recommended):

Coast of Main Lobster compost.

Malibu - BU's blend biodynamic compost (manure based... good stuff).

I can get both of these locally (east coast) - Malibu is from Cali.. so harder to find here where I'm at. My local nursery carries a lot of different bagged stuff including leaf mold (composted leaves).

I contacted Tad at KIS Organics about your question on Coco Choir, here's his reply:

"Bob,

You can do it though I much prefer peat (see our blog for why). That being said you would just need to add some more gypsum to the coco, maybe 1/2 c to 1 c per cubic ft is my guess.

Sincerely,
Tad Hussey

Hi BB
I had to use coco because I couldn’t source peat moss locally and I did have to add a little gypsum to only 1 of my plants (White Widow) during veg. I also gave it 1 Epsom Salts foliar feed too.

It made a great recovery and my 3 other plants (Blueberry, Medical Mass & Finola Hemp) are doing great without any sign of deficiencies without having to add anything to them.

You have been following my journal, right? Stank Soil is basically what you described above but instead of me going through KIS, I sourced my amendments locally one by one. I intend to look at pricing of what they give (KIS), vs what I get when I source locally and have to mix together. I see many of the same amendments I sourced locally and use, are listed in that mineral package that Magic Jim posted.

All I do is water with ACT (EWC, ground kelp, a little malted barley),

Automate watering....We go on vacations during summer runs - 3+ weeks... then have a friend add more water to the rez.. have done a month with minimum wilt on 1 plant last summer. This summer I'm thinking shut down and clean...vacation... start next round. All with the same soil.

There's 2 kits I think to make up the whole... mineral kit and the Nutrient (Amendment) kit ...

Basically rocks and goodies!

I always add in a cup of the nutrient kit at up-pot then into flower + worm castings and Mycos.

Set the cruze control and puff.

Mineral mix only required at initial soil mix.. it will last a long long time = no-til.

And result pics:

Buffalato #2 - I harvested this one today... saved a few buds to test and didn't wait to let it dry and vaped one partial test bud. I thought I was vaping straight up alcohol vapors. I got skerrrt a little.
Though something wrong with Vaporizer. So no report other than... can't type and cant see!
B back tomorrow to finish post. o_O

I'm showing off now..

Buffalato #2 - 61 days chop - close up nug... smells like bubble gum. Fingers covered in purple black trichomes trimming fans off hanging plant and test buds.

Buffalato #2 - more nuggs... Wow strong... focus I must. o_O

Buffalato #1 - 50ish days in flower - just starting to turn to the dark side

Labyrinth #4 - cola shot..

Labyrinth #4 - close up trichomes

Buffalato #1 - Main stem up past the lamps @ 7' tall

DT #8 - she's another monster... @ 30ish days in flower she's just started turning gold.. that's the Acapulco Gold in her.. They all did this. She's got some massive colas going. This is the shorter faster finishing pheno.

DT #8 - massive main stem up into lights she's still

PMB #3 - this is the polyploid version... I wanted to toss but I thought I'd let it run it's course. She's starting to show promise. She's been in flower I think around 70 days already and she needs more.

That's a massive cola.. about 20" long and as big around as my arm... There's 5 or 6 of these colas, thats it. She's only about 35" tall. 1cola per branch and they are all like this. Crazy! I know this can get me some good yields even for a shortie.. this shape.. easy to grow, just have to manage mold.

The inter nodal spacing is ... wait there isn't any spacing!

PMB #3 - close up.
PMB = Purple Monkey Balls ... her sister was all large marble sized purple nugs! I'm gonna go out on a limb and call this pack F1. :D She still retains the same grape smell.

Buffalato #2 - final farewell ... she sure was pretty plant.. and sticky A/F with dark purple trichomes.
Her sister is starting to shape up the same way.

I have a Buffalato #3 I just put into flower yesterday. She is extremely happy. So she went like 75 days in VEG maybe more. Never showed any signs of distress.

Early puff report on Buffalato #2 is smells like bubble gum and tastes like red wine. Stony high...
Great flavor.. I need to sit down with this one and do more in depth testing... :smokin2:

Nice... gypsum is calcium without the change in PH plus added sulfur.

I'm glad it worked out for you! :Namaste:

Where are you that you cannot source Peat... it's very common in NA and EU to the point it's used as fuel in EU. Thankfully not in NA.

I’ll look everything over, I have 5x 10 gallon geopots I’d like to run a good organic mix in them.

5 - 10 gal containers is 6.66666 cubic feet.. add another container??

You could run Devil OG! or GOD OG ...

Maybe:
Steal Your Face Kush AKA: SYF Kush. I'm getting creative .. must be the Buffalato.
Gotta do it!

DWD OG... that rrrrools of the tongue (Dancing With the Devil) - if you cant say "DWG OG" 3x fast.. reported and promoted.

Face Off OG - tribute to my Dermatologist that gets the devil look in eye with scalpel. Scary...

Ok ... smoke report with Buffalato #2 ... ongoing. I will report back tomorrow.

I’m in Scotland Bob, I had been looking around the garden centres etc to find it without much luck.

At the time of trying to start my grow I had very limited funds and a lot of health issues that made getting started a struggle but I’m getting close to my 1st harvest now, I’m on the last 4 weeks :D

They sure got the looks :goodjob:

Hahahaha that explains it... In Scotland they use the Peat to cook the malt when they are making (Scotch) Whiskey.... that's where some of the smokey flavor comes from. I think there's a law or something that keeps Peat off the shelves in stores. Should be readily available tho... its every where there. They used to bury people in the peat bogs 10s of thousands of years ago!

I think half your country is covered in Peat Bogs... not joking! I think they try and make the people of Scotland think its going to run out so only the whiskey makers get to use it... that's a lot of bull shit tho... not going to run out, no way no how.

Also they use it up north I think to cook with ... the traditional way, no??

I would think the ashes from the burning of the peat moss would be a good amendment!

Scotch! There's nothing better than pairing a nice one with good herb
