Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

Sorry, damn, yeah I'm really late to this log! Man, that smoke you have looks like fire!

No worries :thumb: glad to have you stop by ... I'm perpetual.. just start with last round of pics or just look at pics... There's a soil recipe here and there and I usually post it at the beginning of a new round... or when ever I feel like it.

I just keep growing... did 32zips dry last month in my little space, not my best but better than usual. My best was like 3#s dry last summer when I wasn't even here for 6 weeks of the flower cycle. Not too shabby for a 5x10 indoor grow space.

I've been away here the last few days. Our best bud Scooby our Shar-Pei dog of 15 years got sick ... he died in my arms yesterday fighting all the way. I though he was going to bite me right before his last breath! He was a fighter.

Here he is on Cottage 420... see the rock outcrop there in the center going towards the right into the water. Scooby rock.. what he looks like when he was napping... my better half hangin with him last summer. Pic taken from the swimming dock.

This was a major gut punch for us. So we are still struggling with getting used to a much quieter home and missing our buddy. Both of us probably spent more time with him than our children all put together. Scooby will be missed, I'm heart broke.

We will get our feet back under us soon e'nuf.. wagons circled right now... I'll be back.... with more greenerage.

Devils Tit, Chemdog the Big and Labyrinth are putting up flowers. Trimmed a bunch of Citrus Berry that was off the charts goooey... with decent yields dry if I can call it dry! I call it gooey dry... turns to rock nugs after cure... FTW.

Yeah so a little sad and hangin with my girl, getting our love on. Be back to gardening soon enough.

Hey man, sorry for your loss. I hope than pain will go away soon and will be kicked by something pretty amazing.

Sorry to hear about your Pup Mister BBrown. To me, pets are better friends than most people are... Keepem Green

Thanks guys... its been a tough few days. All the kind words really help for sure. Good news .... found a breeder with some a litter of Shar-Pei pups about 5 weeks old. The breeder just happens to be in Ontario on our way to Cottage 420... no shit 30 minutes past our exit to go north. Already contacted her. I'm on it.
Scooby was our 2nd Shar-Pei and I found him by luck similar situation, previous dog passed and we were heart broke. We picked up Scooby about a week or so after my other buddy died. So hey I'm feeling a little better. Been in contact with the breeder and we are making plans.

Ok so back to cannabis journaling.

All the last round is harvested and in jars. We had 4 plants that we harvested over the last few weeks, 3 Citrus Berry and 1 Chemdawg.

2 Citrus Berry were under a COB array. The others under Blurple 5w LEDs and the yield was less by about 25-30% on the blurples. (2.5 zips dry average)

2 Citrus Berry under COB array yield dry was = 8.4 zips dry - average of 4.2 zips / plant in containers indoors. I'll take it. Need to dial in some more and see if we can improve on that. I pretty much did nothing but water this last round, I wanted to see if I could get a good baseline. Also going pretty much straight water this round as well since it's really the first run with all COBs.

Currently we have 4 Chemdag Purp clones going, 2 Devils Tit Clones and 3 Labyrinth from seed maybe 4.... going from memory so TIFWIW. hahaha

I'll have to go get my pen and notebook out and start that up.

All the plants are just getting going in flower except the big Chemdawg, she's about 21 days from flip. She was in VEG for I think about 3 months and was going to flower or getting REAL close to it so I just put her in flower and let her rip. She's huge, and her big fans are already falling off. So I'm expecting an early harvest say 50ish days she's going to be a fast finisher.

Been busy harvesting, trimming, jarring and canning. C-Vault FTMFW! In between muggy cool days.. the worst possible for harvest time.

Imagine harvesting, drying plants that just never dry... turn to mush... mold and compost. Not doing that.

Thank freaking God I sprayed all these plants in VEG with HorseTail Fern tea.. No mold/PM... I should have had it big time. We are talking trimming dry buds then limp as soggy btm... OMG. So far so gooooo no mold. We got a 3 day reprieve on the RH and I was able to trim and into jars before the humidity came back. Problem is it's cool.. in the 50sF and high RH.... the dew point is about the same as the outdoor temps. Think sweating when it's 60F outside... yuk. Freshly cut canna flowers ... not good.

OK pic time:

Showin off.. buds in a vase - ready for trim. That's 18" from counter top to the btm of the cabs... so yeah big buds here - this is Citrus Berry # 3 before trim.

Exotic Genetics - Labyrinth = Spirit in the Sky X The Cube (M) - Indica 60/40 - THC: 22-26%
Flower Cycle: 56 days.
Just getting going. I'm depending on that 56 day forecast... she took like 14 days to get flowers.

Chemdawg the Purps ... A lot of cola's. I trimmed out a bunch of branches to get more light down lower a few weeks ago.

Citrus Berry #2 - this plant was A LOT more fluffy and airy nugs but more citrus and berry smell. Yield was on par with her sisters just more larger airy and more fox tails. This one is actually looking GREAT in the jar!

Pics of the new pup in the works. Gotta 'nother one coming our way WOO-FUKING-WOO... Maybe thats a good name .. WooHoo Shing Lang - she's a lady in disguise!

That Labyrinth is looking like she's going to be a bad ass. :thumb:

In the pics posted she looks rather tall but I'm guessing you vegged her to be big because she's stacking nodes rather nicely. I love how she's pushing out short branches further down but they seem to be stacked too. It doesn't look like you defoil much but the light penetration seems nice without it... I see a little frost too, looks like it's going to reach the tips of some long sugar leaves. I'm pretty excited to see you flower her... :cheertwo: go Bob go..

Had to slow my scroll more than a few times. I truly love seeing happy plants, and yours are certainly some of the happiest. :Namaste:

COBs or LES is the way forward. More efficiencies yet to gain = even more energy per watt to your plants, as material science advances. Photons>Spectrum yes, but it's got a great spectrum too. Once a maker starts utilizing horticultural grade and wavelength diodes for LES-COB application, those COBs will absolutely kill what we have today, even with Cree and others pushing the theoretical limit of diode quantum efficiencies. Plus, if a new bin comes out, or you want to change from flower to Veg...lol - spring freaking clips ftw.

If you are building, I worked up a small spreadsheet that with do a little basic thermal modeling (passive and active) of popular heatsinks, estimate efficiency and extrapolate PPFD in umol/m2/s. Excel file, if you want it.

Yes of course hit me back with it.. I'm all about science love to see quantifiable results. My main flower room is all COBs... most of them are the VERO 29 V7 B which crank out a lot of light. The one lamp above the are CREE COBs but not the latest.

Those labyrinth plants are 6' tall and a few inches from the lights... just not right under the lights the way I would like. Good nuff tho.... translocation is a beautiful thing. I have 4 Labyrinth... 2 are tall the other 2 I topped in VEG and they did not stretch as much. Likely due to me topping too close to going into flower. Ah well it is what it is.... actually its working out they are bushes and under some lights I can drop down a little for them. This round I've got the largest plants I've ever had. The whole room is blowing up and the plants are finishing faster than normal too. These new COBs are amazing. This is my first round with a full room of COBs. I'm still running some blurple lamps in another room but they are much hotter and less light too... not even close. With the blurples a lot more heat and a lot less light. So I will use them for growing veggie starts and seedlings instead of full on flowering. I'm finally getting close to the light output of HID after several years messing with LED tech.

I'm outgrowing this setup. Likely in the late summer I'll be re-building this room and getting rid of the tent which is big but it's not giving me any benefit and it's a mess now. I need better floor pans so going to build my own with flood n drain pains, hang lights from my own frame work and install proper electrical gear with power supplies outside of the grow space, they actually get pretty warm when the air temps are high. I'm totally impressed with the results on these new COBs.

Here's a few pics I took yesterday... still trying to figure out our new camera.

Exotic Genetics Labyrinth - Spirit in the Sky X The Cube(M) 56 days Indica 60/40 THC: 22-26%

Here's Spirit in the Sky breeder description:
This dream girl gives up Jet black greasy colas with strong smells of super sour grape juice.

Mother: Peyote Purple
Father: Starfighter F2

No black flowers yet ...

Starfighter playing a big role in this one, the Cube is a triple (??) back cross of Starfighter F2 and the mother's father is Starfighter F2. I've been pretty happy with any of the Starfighter offspring I've grown to date.

No black flowers yet ...

Labyrinth... about 2 weeks in flower.

Far back shot of Chemdawg the Purps... I may be loosing this one's genetics. Have been striking out with clones lately for some reason. I do have back up plants but any clones I took off this one are not growing roots. I waited too long to take cuttings and the stalks of the cuttings are woody.. so not much luck YET.
The Sativa in the front there is Devils Tit... just getting going in flower and still stretching.

DSC_0012148.JPG

Chemdawg into the lights .. one of the colas looks a little strange shape... she got too close to the lights one night in stretch. I had to rope them away a little.

The Labyrinth #2 again... so besides the Chemdawg the Purps we are just getting going here. It's only going to get more fun from here on out.

So we did our weekly IPM. I had an AUTO plant in another room that aphids.. caught them pretty quick so wasn't too bad.. I was going to harvest the rest of my AUTOs but the aphid thing put the kei-bash on that for a few more days. I had to hose down the plant out side to manually get rid of most of the aphids then spray the plant and everything in the room with the usual IPM with Monterrey Spray (spinosad) and horsetail fern tea and a little neem oil with soap nuts ... aphids be gone. The aphids are getting going outdoors so "someone" brought them inside ... all good expect that to happen and why I do the IPM 2x a week, just in case.

What else... harvested a bunch of my AUTO red flowers. Got quite a haul. I'm at 10+ zips dry in the cans and still have 5 more plants to harvest ... any day now. Having company today so I will wait to stink up the place until tomorrow. Drying black/red AUTO flowers usually smell like berries and dank for a few days!

New puppy next weekend, so we are working hard to get ready for the new arrival. Build a puppy pen and clean up our dog crate. This one will be crate trained .. we met her year old 1/2 sister the other day she was 50# and nothing but lips! FTW.

Congratulations on the new pup, brother. I'm glad you found a new wrinkly faced friend :) the ladies look amazing, and those finishing are absolutely beautiful. I love the forest you got going in the tent too.

Much love brother. I'm stoked you're happy again!
