I hope everyone made it through the storms ok. We ended up getting 30 minutes of warm rain this morning while nasty weather could be seen to the south and north. Last night before bed I checked the radar and saw a trough running right through our area and assumed it would dampen the effects of the no-show derecho or any other weather baddies.

Since I was up at 4am just to keep tabs on the weather I got some weirdo pre-dawn flash photography shots of the outdoor ladies.

@BooWho2 my Hulkberry is well into flower and sits on the highest ground and should be getting the most sun throughout the day so I'm just as confused as you regarding what seems like a really early flower.

Overall they're looking ok. I still feel more nitrogen is in order for the CPK and Sour Diesel. There's some bug damage here and there which is normal I think? I'm not overly concerned about it but will try to get in one more habanero treatment before flower really sets.

OH AND LOOK! I was cutting flowers for inside, snipped a sunflower, felt it move against my fingers and found a band of sleeping bees!

They snuggled in tighter to the flower when I lightly blew on them and it made my heart squee.

Guys...it finally happened. I stepped outside this morning to let the dogs out and...

...the air was cool...almost cold. I can get some cleanup done today! And not die! Or maybe I'll just go read my mycos book under our witch tree* with the dogs and some sweet tea.

*The witch tree is a special sugar maple on the property that has been the focal point of a couple weird events. If there's a swarm of anything, bees, june bugs, rare red lightening bugs...they all gravitate to that tree. Its leaves make a weird hum some nights if the wind is just right and more than once it's been the only tree around to dew, resulting in a very strange morning rain just under that tree. I named it the witch tree since it's a weirdo.

Cool pic of the bees!

OMG. I’m not crazy. I’m the only person I know who calls them lightening bugs (btw - they don’t exist on the West coast). When I was a kid, there were yellow, orange, green, red, and sometimes even blue lightening bugs. No one believes me! :adore:A
Are they something else? I only learned I wasn't crazy when I saw a David Attenborough documentary on lighting bugs! :D I just assumed my retinas were failing for the longest time.

Good morning Ladybird :)

You have so many fucking journals I can’t keep track!

Omg your sleeping bees. Bees are literally one of my favourite things. In spring when my Lilly Pillys are in flower I get zillions of them. My backyard sounds like a sextoy fest of brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

My flowering trees are tall and surround my house including my pool, and bees fall, I’m guessing exhausted, and drop in the pool. I then madly try and scoop them out and save them. This bee showed zero signs of life, but after laying for about 15 mins it flew off making my BIG SMILE and manically wave at him.

Hi Copper :ciao:
OHAI thar!

Update: Hulkberry just up and went and is now doing her own thing:

Any plant with more than two preflowers per node got her first serving of bone meal last night. I think everyone is happy that monsoon season is over! Well, so long as mom remembers to water them. CPK was looking pretty bone dry yesterday morning >.> I watered her and she was recovered by the time we got home from a steam engine event here (@Squiggle you would have loved it).

This is the herd last night:

Looking good mate.
What do you use apart from bone meal for getting you through flower??
You've probably already mentioned it a million times, just my memory is Terrible.

Oh! Steam rally. I can smell and hear it in my head.. that smell of burning coal stays on you for days. I love it..

Thank you! Right now just the bone meal and whatever's in the soil. I'll adjust as the plants tell me. It's my first year using this soil so I'm learning.

Right so I smoked a cone of dream queen to celebrate the win. Bear with me. I sprayed the girls with a mix of Bt, LABs, and my chili garlic stuff this morning. There's some expected mite damage here and there but nothing shit my pants bad.

Yep, I'm just gonna post photos.
