Con's 3rd Indoor Auto Grow - Improved 3.0

Gotcha. Thanks @con, appreciate the thorough answer. Here’s a thought regarding adding a fan if you need to relative to tight space: it is very effective and takes up zero vertical space to put a fan on the floor of the tent blowing upwards. Preferably through the plants. This not only costs you no space to add a fan, no light blocking, etc, it also greatly improves your airflow through the plants. And since it comes from underneath, it takes care of any moisture you may accrue down low where it’s sometimes hard to check or see readily. Especially on the underside of the leaves. All the plant functions improve with this type of airflow I’ve found. I do it every grow now. And if you have short, tight plants it’s especially important in terms of RH control and will really help. It’s my secret anti bud rot weapon. Before I discovered this I would sometimes get bud rot even indoors. Ever since I don’t even worry one iota. Just a thought for what it’s worth!
i can control the RH good & have a fan its just the far end is boxed in the has a higher PPFD than the plants in front so thats my only issue at the moment but just calibrated my photone meter & was out so now calibrated my PPFD is at 550 PPFD at the rear & 470 for the front, im getting a 5' x 4' tent hopefully with in the week, heres a shot of the other end that gets lower PPFD just a bit to tight for my liking with the new light

That's looks fantastic Con, can't get my plants that compact and they look super healthy too.
I don't see any light stress at all, just be mindful of really letting those girls dry out between waterings/feedings bro, since they are small for the pot.
Going to be a great show 😁

Thanks GG the 2 plants furthest away from the fan the leaves started to canoe late yesterday so i calibrated my light meter & lowered my PPFD to 550 for now & they are better now but the 2 plants closest to the fan are about 80-90 PPFD lower than the ones furthest away a bigger tent will/should spread the light better, yeah im letting the plants tell me when to water instead of a moisture meter/probe the lights came on at 6am & by 9 the leaves where still drooping so i gave them first full water to run off today they went 8 days since the last watering & i'm sure you could get your plants as compact just give them to much light when they are seedlings Lol! the joys of figuring out a new light with a uncalibrated light meter

Wow! That’s sweeeeet!!! I’m jealous. Nice job in that space and I see what you mean. Well, one thought is this - right now as you’re showing here the air is moving horizontally across the plants and the front ones get most of it. A fan up higher (clip fan on a frame there?) blowing as directly downward as possible would hit all the plants probably more evenly and effectively? That’s what I do in my 2x4 (small space). I use a growbuds clip fan that oscillates up high on the support pole blowing down. Awesome fans btw.

Btw - betcha when the tent comes you could go up to like 800 ppfd. At that point they’ll want more probably.

yeah i'm going to get a clip on fan with the new tent, i just have 1 fan 1 humidifier & 1 ceramic heater in there now exhaust fan & heater are hooked up to a inkbird controler to keep the temp steady the fan will run constantly once the plants start to smell, the home made grow box was ok for the couple little 100 watters i have but a bit to small with that new big light so a upgraded tent will be much better for many reasons, hope you have a good weekend

Good day folks hope all is well, end of week 2 for veg & all seems good RH steady at 50% temps 24-25c, PPFD average at 575 & will bump up in a few days to a 600-625 PPFD average, all plants have been LST'D & getting bigger, the double grape is a bit on the small side but getting some nice bud sites the FB & FC x SN are doing real well & the GC is coming along nice for being a week behind, they all got their first full watering to run off yesterday with the lower nute mix & liked it with good growth through out the day and over night ( kinda exploded with growth ) & that's about it Thanks for popping in & have a great week

EXCELLENT training!!! Way to spread and create! You are like the Annunaki now. Lol! That ain’t too easy with plants that low. Good job man.

Morning Jon & thanks yeah these low squatters are a bit of a pain but they're growing good now just need to stay on top of it plus a lot of leaf tucking my DG is pretty tiny as compared with yours i hope in 2 weeks its closer to the size you got but still questioning why they didn't stretch out in the beginning either to much light or the coco coir pots slowed down the root growth the FB & FC x SN are getting big compared to the DG

Keeping 'em low, con! :Rasta:
Hey GDB yeah a bit low but what can one do but improve on the next grow but i'm sure they'll be decent, time will tell they should have a few more weeks to stretch out hopefully

Sure is, but they're all looking healthy and happy! Hard to tuck leaves on a plant that close to the soil though, right?
Hi Shed yeah pistils already, the leaf tucking is a bit of a pain, i tuck & then put some rocks under them to keep the leaves off the ground

Sometimes with autos in coco I’ve found you get what I call the “seedling lag.” It’s kind of like they sprout just fine and then they just sit there for like five days or a week. After that they start jamming. I’ve seen it a lot, and tried every which way of watering differently, thinking it must be my watering causing the lag. But it’s not. I believe it’s just a thing with some autos. Funny - the one time Emilya grew an auto she reported the same lag. It happens to even experienced pros is what I’m saying. Don’t stress it man - that’s the auto game. You take what you get. Uncertainty is part of the equation. It’s why many people can’t stand even the idea of growing autos. Lol.

I call it one of the auto training nightmares, lol. Low, tight plant with large fans. I don’t envy my man, but it’ll be an excellent challenge. If one is going to play the auto game, one may as well learn to deal with this, cuz it’s gonna happen again.

Hey @con, I have a suggestion for you on that Fat Bastard if I may? Granted, she’s not as low as the DG. But she’s still looking pretty indica ish. Based on her look it doesn’t appear that she’s going to be too much more than 3-3.5’ tall post stretch - which brings me to my suggestion:

Leave her go from here. Release any restraints you have on her. Just keep tucking leaves and watch the colas you have stretch out and separate.

Basically I’m suggesting NOT doing any training anymore. She’s already strongly showing flower. I’m not sure you’re going to get a whole lot of stretch. If you keep training at this point she’ll stay low. I believe you would be better served to let the branches get length now. As much as they’ll give you.

That’s what I’d do, for what it’s worth.

Morning @Jon i know what you mean. i took out all the training pegs a couple days ago on the FB & FC x SN & DG & they like it, thats what i did with my outdoor grow & didn't like the end result ( to low even while in budding ) they're free range now & i'll just space out the buds once the buds get established, the FB started pistiling at about day 12 from veg day 26 above ground, pics & update coming sunday but are looking healthy & growing fast, thanks& & WOOHOOO new tent supposed to be here sunday
