Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed Stock

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Awesome! That's the one I need to keep an eye out for.

Yep

ok conrad now I'm out there I'm bringing the two dwarfs in when the sun is gone and put them under an led for 5 more hrs that should help a little with fatter buds lol:thumb:

Good idea.

Yea that Lumbo is going to be a hard one for ya... Some strains just won't acclimate to some areas. Some strains will kick off to flower with 13+ hours of daylight,, and some just wont start till you get closer to that 12/12 mark. You see every once in awhile someone says she takes 8 weeks in flower, yet won't harvest till mid late Oct. Alot of times that just this,, they take to long to start flowering making the harvest come in to late, even if she only goes 8 weeks.. I don't know,, my girls seem alittle behind also this year. I mean I'm going to have product,, and they are still going with no signs of a problem,,, yet... Knock on wood...... GL in the gardens,,, hey it looks like the new spot is safe.. Cool... Looks like your going keep on with this new spot huh? Keepem Green

Yeah at least they all start flowering, so I'm optimistic about late November harvest.

New spot is golden, so next year I can push things as far as I'd like and grow some nice trees after cleaning this place a little bit more.

Great update Conrad! Those Lebs....they look like they are still throwing new pistols to me. I would have probably let them go too long. You plan on taking them this week?

Not really, they just change colour. Calyxes may be still plumping up a little bit adding some weight, but that's about it. I'm just curious if trichs are gonna go slightly more amber in the next few days or at least I can see some pistils withering, which for me is always a sign of window harvest. If they don't I can make a wild guess and say that they never will or at least there's no point in waiting any longer.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I'm telling you guys, today I cut purple UD, kinda rare pheno of its own, but these buds are so smelly in a rather pleasing way that I'm surprised. It's like juicing contest is going on in my drying room, cause they smell like pure blueberry pudding or syrup :)

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Yeah we'll see, so far my northern side of the valley produced hard hitting terpenes even if yield is crap. When I start harvesting the plants from the southern side that should be jump in quality.

BTW I've started going through Sensi Star sugar trim and I definitely like it.

And this is gonna be interesting:

As few as 15% of California's cannabis growers will meet strict new standards, predicts insider

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

leave it to cali to lead the way that was an interesting read a lot of growers will be changing the way they do things or they'll be illegal i no mine is clean and thats all i smoke now!

Hey Con,

I pollinated a few weeks ago when we last talked about it and I am about to take her down. Should I cut or leave the pollinated stems? They are obviously growing seeds, they have larger plumper calyxes. I pulled one seed out to see and it was greenish white. Is there a way to tell if they are mature seeds?

:)

Hey! No one cared before about what pesticides are in their weed. People like us work hard to produce a quality smoke and take pride in that fact. What are these big growers using that is so bad? All my life (until before I started growing a couple years ago) we never worried about pesticides or fertilizer used on the plant. I just hoped the bag weighed what they said it would.

Do you know about all the shit they put in cigarettes?

I am not advocating for pesticide use. I just hate that the gov all of a sudden wants to keep us "safe and healthy" when they themselves have poisoned cannabis and other drugs to put pressure on the black market and hurt unsuspecting people. Has cannabis become more dangerous to buy and smoke? It seems like it has because growers are using more pesticides to ensure a successful crop. It's just what happened in big agriculture crops like corn. You get big, bland buds because they are the ones that do the best without pesticides...Or you get someone like us that cares for their favorite strain and can do a plant good enough to grow healthy awesome buds. Commercialism blows and it bums me out to see our society to be in such a bad place.

Why am I rambling?IDK

Leave them until they're ready. You can check in a week or two again.

They really have two choices: go organic or keep exporting their produce to the East Coast. I imagine a lot of them will choose the latter :)

Good wake and bake weed is great. I've been using CG '72 as my daily smoke recently and I really enjoy it!

I actually think that your federal government doesn't give a shit like always, but CDFA wants to clean up the industry a little and I don't blame them. I know that many NorCal growers were against AUMA mostly cause costs to test their crop would become prohibitive and chain of distribution would come in place, but on the other hand customers want to know what they're buying, right? In Italy they'd regulate shit out of these operations if they were to legalise them, which they won't for the next few years. Growers wouldn't be able to budge, they'd be buried in controls and paperwork and scrutiny, which obviously would raise the costs of operating significantly, but even with all these bureaucratic barriers a lot of people would choose to deal with them. I'm all for bringing the government and bureaucracy down, but I also think that health of individuals has to be guaranteed in that way or another.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

cg72 sounds like something i might have to try ill just add to my list of the many lol chopped one of the dwarf glues today i was ready probably a whole 4-5 grams of bud after dry hope its good!:cheesygrinsmiley:

:grinjoint:

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

so how was the sensi trim?:cheesygrinsmiley:
Both are excellent. CG '72 is an amazing old school smoke, potency is really behind THC monsters of today, but it's not exactly low. I love that I get this feeling when I know I'm good. You kind of feel like your jaw is widening and you start giggling and suddrnly you're blissed out :) It can really turn your day into magic, but it also has a functional/relaxing edge to it enough for a sunny afternoon chill out. And no wearing off, which I love. Bad news is I'm already getting low, so I'm gonna have to switch to Mexican or Punto Rojo reserve when it's finished :smokin:

SS is pretty good too, trim smokes like a top indica with a bit of sativa headiness that has also an uplifting kick. I smoke small bowls by night, watch stuff on Netflix and it relaxes me just right. I like it mostly for a long and smooth high. I'll be able to say more when bud is finally ready :)

Hey there Conrad... congrats on your harvests... I'm digging those Sativa you're growing.. Late December... that's awesome. Some of them can do it, with the right genetics. Loving your garden and your input here, mighty fine!

Lazyfish - wasn't it Mr Nixon that sprayed the Mexican cannabis with Paraquat and then went on record to say "if they are stupid enough to smoke it, they deserve what they get" ??

Pretty messed up so gotta take what the government is handing out with grain of salt and try and figure out the "angle" they are on and I'm betting it's the money angle and BigAg getting in on cannabis same as tobacco.. which btw is one of the most heavily chemically treated cash crops.

Tobacco is up there above GMO corn in that regard. All ya gotta do is ask the folks that do the harvesting!

Also, there are folks growing tobacco same as many of us, as a "hobby grow" and are growing organically. They keep heads down and stay out of trouble, bet the prices for that produce are similar to high end cannabis. Just have to find the market.

Best thing to do is grow properly, don't spray flowers with chemical pesticides. There's lots of organic alternatives. We've been growing plants for a SHIT TON longer than chemical companies have been in existence..

I would suggest that the cannabis industry try and follow how the wine/grape industry does it. It will be hella better than BigAg + federal government doing it for sure.

Here's a good question: How long has the black market been in existence?

As long as government tells you what you can put in your body, there's going to be another option, maybe several other options.

Gotta share the love and pass it on... side to side. Love is the only way. :Namaste:

I agree. I know as long as there's a black market for cannabis, there will be unscrupulous individuals who do whatever they can to profit. Whether that means harvesting a mold-ridden crop, spraying toxic pesticides, or generally passing harmful fertilizers into the effluent water system. Legalization will allow many consumers the ability to be more picky and bring the prices down to boot...at least in my mind.

Yeah might be ready in late November if flowering is dynamic enough :) Well I'm telling you these two varieties this year may really put a new meaning to "you have to wait for a good sativa" grow :smokin:

It looks like a leaf virus or a mutation. She'll either grow out of it or will show more weird stuff. Spraying with beneificial bacteria or compost tea is the best thing I can think of. You can toss her obviously and I often do it when I see these things, but you can just grow her too and wait what happens :smokin:

Price drop is good for the consumer and worse for the farmer, but all in all better quality and guaranteed purity should move the market forward. I'm sure that even small growers will make a living if they put enough effort to deliver good produce. I mean I hear all the time that you don't get paid premium on legal markets, which is weird, cause here people always will pay more for better quality of food, wine or clothes. It's enough to show London where prices for medical weed smuggled from Colorado an Cali in the last few years went to €50 a gram. So Transatlantic export-import has already gone up and it shows the potential. On the other hand you have a Canadian company, which is opening legal operation in Portugal to serve European medical market and that scares me, because if Europe goes corporate and they decide to keep thing going this way, we'll never see legalisation in our life. I mean military that grows weed in Italy does terrible things already like grinding it before packing and I wouldn't like to see it spread, but at least they're testing it for presence of chemicals or mould, which is like it's supposed to be everywhere where you buy legal produce :smokin:

This is what I was thinking, wine growers. Interesting article to be sure.

As someone who has smoked paraquat brick I can advise against it. Not good. :ciao:
