Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed Stock

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Sorry to hear about the trouble the Sensi Star is giving you con. I've grown ~20 SS, mostly outdoors & a few inside. She doesn't like excess N (few strains do imo) & poor pH but other than that, she's a trooper. She can be quite "leafy" in flower so I really cut out the N in bloom. With your skills, she should reward you well down the line. :Namaste:

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Yeah she's not dying, far from it. She just surprised me with reaction to general conditions, but with new treatment she should be getting back on track in no time. It happens that by going the HB way you have to sometimes reduce expectations. Well enough said, tomorrow I'm gonna post few pics :thumb:

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Yeah they are. From tomorrow I'm gonna start shading again I think, it's supposed to stay like that for couple of days.

That black fabric screen stuff has worked well in the past for me. You have to anchor it pretty well since it catches wind, but I find it blocks just the right amount of light in hard direct sun.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I did a grow back in Arkansas and you couldn't plant your plants in the direct sun unless you used small islands around the edge of a lake as pots. It got so hot there. And stayed hot and humid as hell. I like to plant 3 or 4 small plots over 1 larger one. You get to try 4 spots for soil water and foodm Easy to hide and if one get found or dies, you still got 3 more to check on, And then you know where to plant your main crop next year, By the success of the harvests. Some strains do LOVE heat. I mean thrive. Others don't like heat. I have some sometimes that just don't want direct sunlight, NP here, I just pushem across the yard to a shady spot.
Man I got me a hangover from hell. So I'm hitting the hay, GL and Keepem Green
Oh btw, one of the UD's is going to go into a finish pot. I give them 4 cubic foot of soil in them poys. 2 large bags per pot. I like the shorter,, but I've still got afew days. I just up poyyed them 5 days ago into 5 gallon pots so I do have alittle while to look and choice. I also have one more trying for that pot called Galaxy. So hybred, I don't even remember the breeder. suppose to finish on time here tho.

Yeah I got some fabric that works quite well. It seems to do the job :thumb:

Yeah it's pretty much strain dependent. Some won't lose a beat and some will show signs of stress straight away. I hope shading will work for these hot days and they won't give me more problems. BTW did you manage to cure the hangover? Hmm I rarely get it these days, but a lot of mineral water and a joint usually fix them :surf:

In my really warm swamp world, the UDs have done really well and already earned a reservation as an ongoing strain in my SOG.

Yep what can I say? As far as fighting the extremities is concerned UD is the winner. I saw these seeds pop outdoor in December in negative temperature (it's gonna be 20s in F), I saw these plants winning the fight with 110-120F heat in the middle of August with up to 3 weeks without any water and I saw them finishing with rain and 70-80% RH without any sign of mold. I'm definitely happy that I have like 10 thousand seeds more and I have one of these in flowering right now showing no signs of stress at all.

Yeah my countryside is not so bad. You know hills, valleys, rivers, forests that kind of thing. I usually get to to find a few nice spots to grow around here, where I feel safe enough to grow quite good bud. Last year was rather dismal, cause my favourite spot got busted, but this year everything seems coming back to normal. I should be going hiking tomorrow to check on what I call The New Sunny Spot. I need to LST few UDs, water the babies and hook up small swimming pool for water collection. I'll be sure to take some pics :cheer:

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

And here are pics of the seedlings I've been talking about.

First one is Bubba Hash. She really pulls along. She doubled since she's been repotted and although there was some nitrogen/potassium calling suddenly it was within the norm considering the heat. After feeding with teas she stabilised very quickly and new growth is showing perfect colour. I really have a good feeling about her, brixwise she should be ok too.

And this is Sensi Star which already ate first set of leaves and started pulling the nitrogen from the second one. She was at par with Bubba Hash in the planter, but after repotting she went into crisis and now she's the ugly duckling. I'm still not sure why, but it might've been transplant shock and too much heat or just general sensitivity. After teas she stabilised though and problems are not progressing, which means nitrogen and potassium were definitely necessary.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Update from The New Sunny Spot... well I actually used an opportunity of a cloudy morning to do some work. I sweated the same, a spider bit me in the ass, I drank whole bottle of water, but I almost finished what I scheduled for June. Next week everything should be set up for the summer.

I'm gonna split this update into three posts. First go Colombians. They're doing well. Every week they seem to do better and better. Another topping and I'm gonna leave them alone. They weren't fertilised so far, I'm just afraid of giving them any extra nitrogen knowing what might happen. I prefer that they do all the work by themselves.

And here are two young Lebs and a Manipuri. They were all outplanted in May, so much later thand UDs an Colos, but they all look like females to me. Not the happiest plants so far, but they're slowly getting there. The last few pics show a Leb which got chewed on. Most likely a rabbit or a fox. I found some traces of digging and some poop too... that is free fertiliser, a gift from mother nature :laughtwo::slide:

good morning conrad, your girls look very happy and healthy i take it you dont have animals there that will eat them if you did that here they would get eaten,i grew some colombian in a green house back in the 70s looked just like yours wish i had them seeds now had a bag of them oh well, keep up the good work i like the show! have a good one!

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Looking good outdoors, the Lebs are looking much better than they did at first. Colombians are doing great. Makes me want to grab a pack before there gone.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Damn that UD bushy pheno is looking niccceeee :thumb: THE SYMMETRY!

Oh yeah it really starts branching out in late veg, but if you train it right, multiple colas and even canopy is easy. I top/fim, then LST, then top/fim again and then LST. I'm more convinced of need for early training with time and cause i can't use cages this works fine too.

Rarely happens here, they have so much food around that they rarely pester weed. Yeah this line is supposed to come from a batch of Colombian Gold scored in 1972 which has been kept alive all this time in seed form. I don't even know if she finishes here cause they are very, very slow plants and don't need much feeding, but if I score some bud in late October or early November that will be fine with me... I have another one which is supposed to finish in July :thumb:

Nice Conrad, I just love looking at cannabis planted outside! Love the care you're giving them.

DL

Yeah next time I'm gonna try take these pics in the sun. It's getting hot here and now hellish humidity is back. It's supposed to rain shortly and that will fix their watering schedule. I grew some killer crops over the years in this area and every year I'm trying to make things a little bit better in my own twisted, organic way. You have to have climate for it for sure. But outdoor growing is possible everywhere. You can even grow autos :cheesygrinsmiley::tokin:

Yep they're progressing. Kinda slow starters and not really stock for pushing nutes. These plants sometimes don't grow more than 4 feet in Lebanon. This is weird strain, but definitely unique. We'll see if these 2 turn out females. Supposedly you shouldn't water them at all in flowering or very little. Even small sample will do here. Most of it will finish as hash though. I rarely enjoy indica bud, I prefer hash, which is why I'd like to have a good hash strain :tokin:

And you can get a few different flavors of symmetry from the various phenos. Sexy girls... they all have their curves.... just slightly different ones.

Flavors of symmetry yeah :surf::laughtwo::tokin:

Different phenos either lean on Aurora Ultra (OG side) or on Chemdawg/NYCD side, but most of them stay small giving moderate to medium yield... however the quality is up the roof. And the truth is that when I don't have UD in a jar I get itchy :laughtwo::tokin:

What a nice walk in the woods!

I drank almost no water and enjoyed your pretty plants. My legs aren't even sore.

Thank you for sharing.

It's always a pleasure, man. You can walk in these woods with me feeling the sweat and insects trying to eat you alive or cleaning up the mess after some hailstorm or wading through blackberries that somehow don't respond to "get out of the way" call. I mean for this we love the great outdoors ;):tokin:
