Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed Stock

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

How is the Auto Jack doing?
It didn't make it. Seedling was smallish and weak.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

You know I really like the sound of these super auto Con.. And these 'Fast' version of strains.. The super autos go 120 days.. And the fast are suppose to come in early-mid Sept. I know for me with my outdoor season,, they are sounding pretty damn good.. You know my situation on growing,, I'm in this little pocket of moisture that makes Portland the worst damn place to grow outside.. BTW I have them 2 growing. All three should the trait of branches growing almost straight up from the main stem.. What I'm saying is she don't want to be a wide one. I could've had alittle more space in the veg tent which might have contributed alittle.. I'll get afew pictures up in acouple days.. I just took all the mother plants out back for a wash down with Green Cleaner just incase.. I've had a good run of luck, knock on wood, this winter.. Nailed it on alot of strains. But I've had plans going pretty steady for 7 months inside.. I got 5 left in the flower room,, and 3 weeks they come out,, Then clean up time for next winter of maybe a small experiment or two.. Go all Doctor Frankestien on something.. I do have acouple rockwool slab trays and acouple slabs of wool,, and I got some 4" top cubes. Then I have 2 resiours and a manifold splitter for 8 tubes with a dripper on top..Maybe or I got them 2 drip ring ecogrower. Like a waterfarm,, only bigger. Well see... Well I'm outta here

I have yet to see a male UD... kinda hoping to see one, but no joy yet. Many beans left to test....

I don't know if I should wish you getting one or not :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm tempted to try some this season if I get any males, replacing them with autos would solve the problem just perfectly!

Anyway, here's my northern slope emergency patch, a part of my tri-fold always-getting-some-weed strategic system. This is the last line of defense in case all other methods fail me. I lived on that kind of weed in the past when I couldn't do better, so I don't underestimate its importance.

These seedlings were transplanted here 8 days ago.

Drive by.. GL Con with them little guys.. All alone out there with all the snails,, etc.. I know I've lost damn near ever seed I ever started in the woods.. I know I use to have to go sex plants and you always ended up with afew males. But we were growing 30-40 plants.. Always bound to have something hit them for afew seed.. Man if I could still do that still,, I'd be working on a batch of fem outdoor seeds. Some of these so-called super autos can take 120 days. And these aren't little auto flowers either.. Some yield 2 pounds and are 12' tall. They might make a great crop seed. If you find time go check out their site. They have alot more strains than I first thought, Flash Auto. Hey, BTW that's some pretty country. You found a nice little spot with a southern veiw.. Cool. Was you able to go close to the top and get that good sun? Makes me homesick, kind of reminds me of the foothills back home in Northern Arkansas. Man I'd give anything to be able to get around outdoors. My damn feet are screwed. Nerve damage. Oh well life.
Hey, I hope the girls hang in there. They going to have to be survivors huh... GL and Keepem Green

I think I'm in the same boat as you on this one. Finding one would open up some very interesting options.
For example, I've got an OGK strain I've been cloning for years. The genetics seem to be a touch old really. Mixing them with a UD might create a very interesting thing. Plus, I wonder if mixing the genetics would help the ugliness of a Pineapple Chunk plant.

I'll definitely check on these autos, I cannot pretend I didn't hear you. As far as my spots I found something that definitely replaced The Old Sunny Spot. Good elevation, great soil and plenty of sun. Security with first run on a new spot is always an issue though, so we'll see how that goes.

I wouldn't recommend mixing it with OG as there's so much OG in UD that cross won't show anything interesting... but that's just my opinion. Now Pineapple Chunk is mostly Skunk #1, so you can get something here as this genetics will always cross well. But you can also keep pheno hunting until you know exactly what you have within UD. Wait till you chop and smoke #3 and #4, I see good things for you there :thumb:

An update on the plants :cheertwo:

CG '72... look at the early branching from the cotyledon. I haven't seen this many times I have to say. Tomorrow I'm transplanting 4 other ones and I'm keeping that one to sun dep.

And first look at the Lebs. Good vigour and sun endurance. Two phenos so far are fast indica type with slightly rounded first set of leaves and purple one with thinner leaves that seems to be more delicate.

Fantastic Con, those CG's look like there going to be awesome plants and the UD's got a great start also. Good Luck buddy. Toast

Thx buddy, I've just transplanted CGs. UDs were untouched and my spot is still a go :thumb:

Well isn't that special :)

Yeah it's kinda cool, isn't it? I kept this plant for sun dep. This week I'm starting with it and with a UD that is already rocking in HB soil, so stay tuned for some bonsai plants :cheertwo::surf:

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Weird plant.. That could be a good thing... Nice low stance on that one. It's going to be a bush.. Hey, you ever look into polymer crystals? They are the size of rock salt but suck up 100 times there size with water or something, Then it so releases.. When it rewets,, it works again.. I used them when I had to keep trips to my grow down to a minimal... Saved my grow before, once when I couldn't get up there... But I know they should've been dead,, least wilted to crap.. I don't know what it costs. But it sure couldn't hurt to throw a half a cup in the root zone. It's what they use in diapers and them 'cool' rags.
What about your water?? Your not going to have to carry it are you? I got a few hundred yards of 1" black tubing on the side of the house.. JK Kind of.. It will be hard as hell if you don't have a source kind of close with safe access. But I understand this isn't you first rodeo... I was serious back when you talked about a swampy spot.. Water.. Them swamp tubes work. Plant and forget system. Throw a few oranics in the top pot and your done. Come back and throw alittle bat crap topdress out.. I'm babbling... Keepem Green

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I'm gonna install a swimming pool as a water collection system after I'm sure the spot is 90% safe. Once it starts getting really hot I'll put a nice and thick layer of mulch too to prevent water evaporating too fast. But before it happens they should have their roots deep enough to tap into ground waters, which is an upside of my climate. I was careful to till only upper layer of soil, so what's underneath wouldn't escape that fast. There's always water somewhere here underground fortunately and I never saw plants crashing due to heat, but this summer might be rather dry and hot, so I'd rather be prepared for it.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Be way cool to have some source of ground water, or least moisture. You down low or on the side of the hill? The bottoms are moister of course, but alot dryer but mor sun is on the side.. But you know what,, plants work with indirect light damn near as well as total sun. My girls out back might get 7-8 hours derect sun at the most.
Acouple patches I grew back in Arkansas,, you never needed to water cept 2 or 3 times at first. But my favorite place growing was the foothills in Cali. They had this big concert aqueduct running thru the hills. Well some of the joint in the sections leaked alittle. I dug a hole and placed a tarp right under it and collected it, which ran downhill in tubing to the garden. I had a little hidden 'pond' about the garden. But there is no water you could grow in them hill unless you had alot of water. 5-10 gallons per, per day for a good size plant.. Well I'm outta here... Keepem Green

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

The spot is on the southern flat hill slope with direct sunlight pretty much throughout the day, so this is not the problem. Ground water is everywhere here, I have a lot of streams running downhill, so in the worst case I'm gonna get water from there. But I count on the rain most of the time, sooner or later it's gonna come :thumb:

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Is it Jarillo that those CGs remind me of with the long scalloped leaves and the strong early branching? :hmmmm: Looks like they're going to be sturdy and elegant.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Yes quite similar so far, I hope she won't get crazy as soon as I switch to flowering, but then that's part of the fun isn't it?

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

So night night for these two, they're on 11/13 as of now. Tomorrow a dose of freshly cooked stinging nettle/horsetail tea and we'll see how quickly they'll start stretching. I can already see this Colombian lashing ahead, but I have a good feeling about UD too. These are obviously unknowns so they can reveal their male parts at any time :cheertwo:

Greetings from new England. I was wondering if you could elaborate on your organic teas, what goes into them, how long they will steep and how you feed...
