Conquer's Lavender Grow 2010!

nice and frosty. shame she didn't yield more for ya. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the next pics. Thanx man!

Thanks JL. I'm hoping the harvest of the next 2 will cheer me up.

How far out are the other plants?

Umm, probably not for another week or two. They are still about 95% clear trichs.

p.s. What strain was that?? Was that the one with the "potassium" deficiency? If I was right, that would have alot to do with yield. Potassium is a major player in yield size. a deficiency would hypothetically cut back a yield a bunch. I dunno, just a thought. Don't be too down man, you did end up with a whole plate of McNuglets, and they do look bomb from the 'Frosty' pic. you got some smoke, its probably pretty damn good, so eh, keep on trucking my man. ;)

looking forward to the next batch of pics!!

This plant was a mystery strain of bagseed. So are the 2 left flowering. And my guess was that the lack of K hindered the buds too. But, at least I got something from it. I'll take a taste-test in a couple days when it dries.

Thanks for tuning in JL!

UPDATE!

Ok. So I have two more bagseed girls left in flower. They are 6 weeks in today. I must be doing something wrong, because they are starting to show the same def as the other girl that just got harvested. Also, they are very N deficient, so the leaves are yellowing quite a bit. You'll be able to see it all the pictures:

Here you can see the spotted leaves. Also, the very tops of the buds are starting to show a bit of purple...hard to see in the photos.

AND...here's the girls I have vegging right now...waiting their turn in the flower tent.
CanonRebel_163.PNG

Ok...Left to right: The 2 bigger girls on the far left are clones from of the bagseed in flower right now. The two next to that are my blueberry clones.
Next to that are my lavender clones. The taller two next to that are lav from seed. And the big girl on the far right is my Lav mamma.

Thanks everyone!! More to come soon ;)

SMOKE REPORT for the first bagseed girl:

Ok, so the first bagseed girl was harvested 5 days ago and has been drying since then. Today, upon checking, the nugs seemed dry enough to go into a mason jar for curing. The weight check put the harvest at 23.5g of smoke. I am still disappointed at the low yield, but considering the problems I've been having, I'm just glad I got some medicine out of it.

Also, despite being small little nugs, they are pretty dense. A few moments ago I loaded up a bowl, and with the flick of a lighter, sat back to enjoy my first taste test. Very nice! Even without a proper cure the smoke is very smooth...no trace of chlorophyll or fertilizers. The taste is kinda lemon-berryish leaving a sugary aftertaste lingering in my mouth and sinuses...mmm:thumb:
So far, the effects are pleasantly clear-headed and relaxing. A happy smoke for sure. So, far, I'm not experiencing any pain-relieving properties...great anti-anxiety properties though!

All and all I am happy with this first little harvest! 2 more left to go in about a week or so. Then on to the Lavender!

Stay tuned. More to come soon!:peacetwo:

Glad to hear it smokes well. I suspect it tastes good for the same reason it is yellowing out - probably a N deficiency. Some plants seem to use a lot at the end when you aren't giving them much and they yellow out as a result. This is the goal of the flush, and it can start before the flush even, but if it happens too early it will reduce productivity.

In my experience and that of my mentor, you can sometimes just feed them additional N in bloom, tapering it off as they approach harvest. Some strains seem to be worse about it though and need to be absolutely loaded with N through the first half of bloom. The upside is that when you finally do stop pushing the N, these plants usually use up what is left in no time and still yellow out at the end. Sometimes, though, it's just hard to keep up if you don't hit them hard from the beginning.

Then there are other plants that freak out entirely when you push the N too hard. For me, it's been about learning what they want.

Thanks brother AB,

Yeah, all my plants are very N deficient at the end of flower...enough so that it may be affecting their productivity. I think that next time I will be keep giving grow nutes for the first few weeks after the 12/12 switch to keep em green for longer.

PEACE!

WOW MAN those McNuglets came out looking tasty! Nice. I'm happy to hear that they came out nice for you, and with almost an ounce thats not bad. It should keep you medicated for a while at least!!

Keep up the good work man!! :ganjamon:

...or you could use something like this, add it to the mix every few waterings...

HUMBOLDT NUTRIENTS VERDE

I use some Metanaturals 16-0-0 so I can use it whenever by just addinng it in when they need it. the extra phospuorus and potassium along with magnesium and whatnot in the Verde would only help. I'm switching once I run out (If I ever run out. the stuff has lasted me about 5 years so far. lol)

Exactly. I use feather tea, which pretty much all N. I think they do just fine with N during bloom and in fact I think they do better with it. I cut out the feather tea about a week before flush but they get some N all the way to flush. I flush over 10 days and it comes out great.

Probably because it's all-organic I get away with murder. I dunno. But they certainly produce more buds if they have the N to fuel their engines. They depend on chlorophyll for energy, and depend on N for chlorophyll. That's why the green goes away. I figure if you can flush it out at the end, it doesn't matter if they get lots of N in the meantime, and they seem to respond. 🤷

Thanks for the love HorseBad!:thankyou:

Be sure to back...2 more plants are getting harvested verrry soon!

HARVEST UPDATE!

Hey there. So my final 2 bagseed girls finished up and were chopped and dried!!
They gave me 86.5g of smoke. The total yield of all 3 girls was 110g...a couple grams shy of a quarter pound. I have to say that I am quite pleased with the way this round turned out. I should be in top quality medicine at least until my next batch is ready to go!

I also did a full cleaning of the flower tent, and moved in the next batch that has been patiently waiting its turn. This batch we will finally get to see what this journal was started for...Lavender!

PICS:

Dry and ready to come off the vine...

Thanks everybody!!!:slide:

Just took 4 more Lavender clones. I'll be taking some Blueberry clones very soon when the mamma gets a bit bigger. These new clones will be used in my first coco grow!
