Colombian Gold In Hydro By Gwhunran

growing 3 sativas (panama./ malawi ./ malawi panama at week 3 - they are 2feet + History: used 12/12 for 3 week veg) and just flipped to 11/13 I am using a Redspec LED ( 2 red QB's) - about UV do 1--% sativa's benefit from UV ? if so will ren them the last few of flower ------ any thoughts Goi ng to start my flower count at 11/13
I don't know much about UV but you won't go wrong on a 11/13 light schedule on those strains. I grew a Panama by ACE and it was pretty easy, stretched a lot, and loved the nutrients. My current Golden Tiger has a lot of Malawi in it and it is super nutrient sensitive. Mine is still showing the burn from earlier in the grow. You'll need a lot of room and be prepared to LST(Low Stress Training). If you do much pruning your girls will really really need a lot of room. Ask @CaptainLucky :)

I couldn't believe I missed the picture. It's good to know it was an edit.

I've never seen a CO2 system like yours in use. :hmmmm: Only in journals and media. :) It would seem more comfortable thing to do when having to fill or swap tanks now that I live in a legal state. I would have had the fear of "what are you gonna do with that CO2?" question from the gas business.:hmmmm:
How many tanks would you recommend having on hand? How long does a tank last? And lastly, how much does a tank cost?

I can usually get a week or more out of a bucket.:hmmmm: I really don't know how much I'm putting in the room but I can smell it, until the bubbling gets real slow. :hmmmm::) The cost of the grains is negligible, as well as the yeast.:) I use a little over four cups of sugar per bucket, and can get about 3 buckets out of a ten pound bag. So my CO2 is relatively cheap, :)but not quantifiable.
I started at 1500 ppm in the 5’x5’ tent and after six weeks of veg then 3 weeks of flower it ran out because the controller turns on with the light sensor only . As girls don’t need CO2 in the dark cycle. The second time I’d caught a couple CO2 threads that were running at 750 ppm and didn’t see any difference but lasted the full grow. I was looking out for the Budweiser truck at the bar and trade out tanks $20 . Same price as in the big city carbonic company’s .
Sorry for the medical condition .
Congratulations on the legal state as you know I live in the state of Texas.
Have a great night .

Golden Tiger is a cross of 2 Thai strains with a Malawi. Although I did Veg it long it took over a 4’X4’ tent. From the walls to the ceiling it was nothing but buds. Malawi is known for its crazy growth. CL🍀. :morenutes::cheesygrinsmiley:

I didn't know they lasted that long. :) I was thinking they only lasted a couple weeks.:hmmmm: That's not bad at all.:) Running the tank gas is cheaper than making buckets, not counting the cost of the equipment.:cheesygrinsmiley: I like the idea of a light sensor as I am still low tech in some ways and wouldn't be running stuff through a phone.

Don't some big aquariums use CO2 🤔 ive heard it mentioned before im sure
I haven't heard that.:hmmmm: Do you have any idea what they use it for? :hmmmm: I bet they might make use of it in one of those inside non-native tropical/jungle plant environments.:hmmmm:

Yeah, Capn I was thinking the Malawi might go crazy and my Panama was no joke, it stretched more than the Golden Tiger:) but was vegged 20 days vice 14 for the GT.:hmmmm:

Lowering pH and to combat algae ;)

Cheers!

Day 29 since flip.

The grow area is running normally.:)

The CO2 bucket is bubbling steadily.:)

The plants continue to look healthy, with a good green color.:) The very very slight start of tip burn on some of the leaves seems to have subsided,:) so I'm not going to use KoolBloom(0-10-10) in this reservoir. :hmmmm: I'll let the flowers get a little larger first. :hmmmm:
The stalks are now growing much more slowly vertically but the flowers are making up for it.:) It's a good thing I've got a lot of airflow.:cheesygrinsmiley::bong:

Day 30 since flip.

The grow area is running normally. :)

A new CO2 bucket is being made as I post.:)

New reservoir this morning. Used recommended amounts of General Hydroponics three part liquid nutrients for 17 gallons in Mid Bloom. Added 60ml CalMag+ and PHed to 5.8-6.2.:)

The plants continue to look good and build flower.:) So far this is an easy strain to grow in hydro.:cheesygrinsmiley::bong:

question : using a red spec led QB -- started plants on 12/12 for 3 weeks now I switched to 11/13 - even in 12/12 veg they started to flower Now ----- when do I count flower time when started 12/12 from seed or when I flipped to 11/13 ? (Malawi - Panama --Malwai x Panama are the 3 strains (ace gear) Thanks Guy's
I wouldn't really worry about the exact days. :hmmmm: It mainly helps as a reference for yourself and if it had to be explained to someone else.:) Note your flip date, and when you started to see evidence of flowering.:) I don't think there really is a definitive flower start time.:hmmmm: Record when you do things to your grow in a manner that allows you to go back and make sense of it. :hmmmm: Some of my early grow notes weren't much help, when I referred back to them. Just accept that this group is going to be a long grow, if you're used to typical hybrids. :bong:

Day 31since flip.

The grow area is running normally. :) I say this to lead off the post, meaning the equipment in the grow, is running as expected with no malfunctions.:)

The new CO2 bucket from yesterday is bubbling vigorously. 😍 It puts a smile on my face when I first open the door to the grow and get a whiff of fresh bread or a freshly opened can of beer.:cheesygrinsmiley: It lets me know the whole grow area is getting CO2.:cheer:

The plants are looking good.:) The flowers are growing beautifully and that's why we do it.:cheesygrinsmiley::bong:

I get my CO2 from the local welding gas shop. Plants are looking fantastic, a solid shelf of greenery.
Thanks Rhino, :) Do most shops have tanks to buy or swap like the propane bottles at stores? :hmmmm: Do you get nearly a whole grow out of one bottle? I may have to find out if @West Hippie wants to get rid of is stuff. :cheesygrinsmiley: It might not be economical to ship a bottle though.:hmmmm:
I'd need to plan out the plumbing of a system to go to both rooms and have a shut off at each grow, so I could run either, both, or none.
I'm about at a point where I'll have way more than enough clear alcohol to keep my barrels full  and it might be better to run CO2 the regular way.:)

You’re right on the tank shipping since being used might cause a problem but we use it on our 16 gallon keg dispenser. I’d be happy to send the controller to you it’s just wasting here on the shelf. I’m fixing to take off to town and later we’ll do a pm and send it your way in the mean time check out tanks .

Sounds good. :) I'll wait to hear from you. I am still not able to do a lot of stuff, so I probably couldn't set it up now. But probably could by next season, so no hurry on things.:)
