Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

thanks beez

personally I think the p300 has the edge over the vero. I've done full grows under each with no rotating and the p300 plants seem to be frostier. But you definitely need more head room for it. The plant under the p300 gets some of the light spread of the Vero, but the one under the vero doesn't get much of the p300.
I'm want to replace them with quantums to eliminate the fan noise as soon as I get some extra cash.

here's a beez NL at 3 weeks, just started to see hairs. Experimenting with Mega Crop in a bottom feeding pot.

Is that a Sensi NL, a Nirvana NL, or a cross of the two? Either way they are stout plants with big strong branches aren't they? How was the smoke from the Colombian Gold shorty you grew?

This is the plant I've been treating with colloidal silver since May 15th. She finally started showing pollen sacks a couple days ago. If she has this much frost on her at Flip + 19 days I can't wait to see how she looks at Flip + 63

This one is new to me. Super frosty stinky and sticky Icky. Not sure about the leaf growth, doesn't seem to be detrimental.
My buddy grew one of the NL X NL crosses and came up with that same pheno. He said the buds were hard as rocks when fully cured and that the quality was top shelf.
I'll be real curious to see how that Chemdawg X Sour Angel grows out. The Chemdawg plant was a leafy devil and a pain to trim up. The Sour Angel just the opposite. I am extremely pleased with the Sour Angel flowers. They're pretty small but very dense with a fantastic fragrance and the smoke is fantastic!

That's a Sensi NL. A few weeks ago I gave one to a friend whos wheel chair bound and I planted it for him outside today. It's one healthy plant.

The CG shorty is excellent, only yielded 20g though.

After 27 days of applying colloidal silver to the frosty plant above I'm finally rewarded with pollen sacks. The branch I am treating started out about 14" in length with a side branch on it. Now that main branch is approximately 28" in length with four side branches. As it's grown I've continued treating the entire branch and it's side branches. I am able to spot a pollen sack here and there on all of the side branches and the main branch. If the pollen proves to be viable there are some Grandpa Glue seeds in the future.

Got my toys! Won't be able to use them for a few weeks, and then I will need to dilute the CS down to 50ppm. But I am ready!

DDA seed poked her head above ground yesterday, so 6/13/19 will be DAY 1. Thanks to everyone for the help on this new venture.

Glad to see my Sensi NL genetics are getting out there! I haven't grown the cross of it with Nirvana's NL yet, but I will. Great looking plants!

I am loving the look of my Sour Angel as well....I have one thats on flower day 14 and another that just got transplanted in a temporary 5 gallon pot til I am ready to grow her big.

I had a feeling that Chemdawg was going to be leafy and a pain in the arse to trim. Have you smoked any of her yet Beez. She's currently in a 2 gallon pot for a couple more weeks before I throw her in a 7 gallon and flip her.

My experience with the DDA is that they start to flower in the 30-40 day range. Knowing when to start applying the colloidal silver is tougher with an auto flower plant because nature determines when she starts flowering not the lighting she is in. I've never reversed a DDA auto but have reversed a few autos and I begin applying the CS on day 25. I like to start brushing it on about 7 days before it starts to flower. So I think starting on day 25 with your DDA would be good. I apply it twice a day......at lights on and right before lights out. I avoid getting it on the leaves as much as I can BUT do like to apply it liberally so I'm not wasting my time or the colloidal silver. I mean, I want it to work!! I brush it on the stems of the leaves, on the main stem of the branch and any side branches off that branch. And I be sure to dab dab dab it into all the nodes where new branches/leaves are growing out. These nodes are where the pollen sacks will form so coat them good.

The Gorilla Glue #4 plant I treated starting on 5/15 through 6/10 is looking like it's going to form a very strong number of pollen sacks. And just this morning I found a single sack that was opened and I managed to harvest a tiny bit of pollen from that lone sack. I applied that pollen to this bud. With luck the pistils will be curled up tomorrow morning a sure sign the pollination was successful. Be sure to very clearly mark the branch you're applying your CS to as well as the branch or branches onto which you're applying the pollen. Keep in mind that a well pollinated SMALL bud will net you 10-25 seeds. A LARGE bud, well pollinated by hand can net you 25-40 seeds. So unless you want a boat load of seeds be careful with that pollen.

I have 5 jars of the Chemdawg that is still curing. It's one of those strains that goes into the jars smelling nice and after a week smells like wet straw/grass with an undertone of smelly gym socks. This lasts for about 3 weeks when it starts to smell nice again..........different then when it went into the jars, but still nice if that makes sense. Well mine is just now in week 5 of curing and starting to lose that grass/straw fragrance. I have not smoked any yet. I have been sampling the Sour Angel (7.9 out of 10) and Girl Scout Crack (8.1 out of 10) along with some samples a friend gave me.

Thanks Beez! This is really helpful information. I've made a note for DAY 25 or so to start the CS applications. I already had the 2x day and other key points in my notes from reading this journal, but great to have the refresher. I will also take a look at the massive DDA thread elsewhere here on 420 to see when flowering started for others, just to get a range. @SweetSue created a monster with that journal, as well as the "Hempy Headquarters" thread, both of which I have been studying.

But the "7 days before flower" rule of thumb is awesome.

Here is the sweet little wee thing right now. It is DAY 2 above ground. Too early to start CS? Joke. Have a great weekend.

I had been treating a branch on a Gorilla Glue #4 plant recently and finally after almost 30 days it started to produce pollen sacks. I found a lone pollen sack yesterday that had opened up so I collected the tiny bit of pollen and applied it on to this bud. Photo taken a couple minutes after pollen application.

Here is that very same bud this morning. I found another lone pollen sack that had opened and I harvested it's pollen and brushed it onto this same bud. If you'll notice some of the pistils have curled/shriveled up which is an indicator that it has been successfully pollinated. I always feel a lot better when the pistils turn color after shriveling up so hopefully today or tomorrow they will.

I've begun treating a branch on a Purple Punch plant which would seem to be a winner. I say that because two of the plants I currently have flowering (which I love both) are a cross made with Purple punch. Research has shown that it is resistant to being reversed but will do so with perseverance. If I have nothing else I am persistent. My plan with the Purple Punch is to treat it an extra 3 days in veg (10 days total in veg) and then flip it to flowering where I will continue to treat it with the colloidal silver till I see boy parts.
