CoffeeShopSeeds Sponsored Grow: Emmie’s Huge 1 Month Interval Constant Harvest

Everything is looking great! Two of the O.Gelatos were ready at day 56 and they were pulled and are now hanging in the stairwell. The humidifier is down there, keeping that area at around 65% RH. Blackout curtains have been installed on the upstairs windows so that it gets very dark in that stairwell. I have left a couple of buds on each plant to see if we can get them to go to seed. One of the Gelatos is running long and does look like a different phenotype. The Critical Kush appear to be heading toward their finish too.... probably next weekend. The big @Cultiuana CT-720 has been reduced to 80% power to hurry the race toward the finish.

In Bloom Room #2, we are at day 30 of bloom, and are all looking wonderful under the big NextLight MEGA.

The technical term is that I am overgrowing these two plants. I have left enough buds that their response should be to go on, rather than die after the terrible attack they have just lived through. Their prime directive has not changed, it's still continuation of the species. I expect them both to immediately hermi and start producing feminized seeds.
Interesting - thanks!

Awe inspiring.

The first harvest is now sitting just above the curing range, and with luck we will start curing overnight tonight. The next batch, the Critical Kush are just about done now too. I will be pulling all three of them in the next couple of days. The O.Gelatos that were already harvested but with buds left on them to go to seed, are proceeding as expected. All of the lower buds are now throwing out new white pistils, and I see signs of the buds starting to produce seeds in the older overripe buds. My confidence is high that I will end up with a good amount of feminized O. Gelato seeds as we close out this room.

In the second bloom room, we are at day 36. The plants are at day 10 of the 14 day feeding cycle. All of the plants are suddenly looking a little hungry, and I know why. Instead of mixing up my Terpinator, SNS and Sweet Candy in a bucket to do my top watering a few days ago, I just hooked up the hose and top watered with tap water. One little session of that and I can easily see how close to the edge these huge plants are running... I can't let up on the supplements.

Here are some top of the canopy shots... There is a lot of bud in this room.

The Critical Kush are just now finishing up, at 10 weeks and 3 days. The amber is creeping up toward the very top, but still just short of what I want to see before harvest. The trichomes are so thick that these plant all look furry with frost. The plants are purple on the tops of the leaves and white on the bottom. Here is an upside down bud that is showing the white side.

You can see above some remnants of the spidermite problem that affected a few of the buds. A few of the bugs have gotten to the top to be able to make webs, trying to encase the buds for their own use... but the SNS 203 at 30ml/quart has killed the mites and kept their replacements away. It is also acidic enough to be dissolving the webs. These plants will all get an H2O2 wash after chopping to remove as much as possible of anything left over. The point is, I am winning.

Looking at the buds from the topside, they look completely different, and definitely purple.

Today the Critical Kush are at the 10 week point, and today they are done. I plan on pulling them tonight and then will hang them for a week in a 65% RH room. I will include many pictures of these beautiful buds in this update.

In Bloom Room 2 it was the day after the scheduled feeding day, so all of the plants got their 2 week feeding of @GeoFlora Nutrients with a top watering to soak the top dressed feed into the soil. The water for the first time in a couple of years has been stripped of chlorine/chloramine, and as always loaded up with Terpinator, SNS-209 and Sweet Candy. I am curious to see if I can tell the difference now that I am filtering 97% of the chlorine.

I have realized that I have 2 phenotypes of the 818 Headband in the room. Most of the plants are the same, but there is one plant that has always been shorter, and now it is clear that she is darker, turning purple when the others are not, and her leaves are narrower.

818 Headband is a hybrid weed strain made from a genetic cross between Sour Diesel and SFV OG Kush. Sour Diesel is a sativa, so I have to assume that this pheno is probably closely related to this parent rather than taking on more of the traits of the hybrid. I will be harvesting and curing this one separately and will consider it another variety in my collection. Here is the main pheno shown by 5 plants:

Here is Candy Dawg. All of these in Bloom 2 are at day 42 of Bloom.

For that matter, I have an odd phenotype among the O. Gelato in the other room too. Two of the Gelatos got done a week ago, but this odd one is just now getting done at week 10. She seems to be more closely related to her parent OG Kush. The O.Gelato that was harvested last month is just now solidly in the cure range, and it is going to be interesting comparing these two phenos in the pipe one of these days. Here is the odd Gelato, ready to be harvested:

And then to finish out the update before I get ready to chop these plants... here are some pictures of the ripe buds that are showing amber up to the very top:

Thank you @Jon ! You are very kind. Let me show you something special. The picture is a little out of focus, but you can see a little bubble of resin on the top of the leaf at the 11:00 position in this picture. This is going to be a very sticky harvest because this thick red resin is oozing out of this plant from everywhere.

Some day I will have a tree with buds like this and I will just spend my days sitting under it getting covered in the good and kind sticky.
Stunning really.

Today I decided it is time to close out Bloom Room #1. The only things in there now are the two O. Gelatos that we are trying to overgrow, and one odd phenotype of O. Gelato that has taken 11 weeks to finish out. That plant is now done and the big lights will not come on for her again. I will chop her after 36 hours of dark and hang her for at least a week to slowly dry out.

Out of the two that I am overgrowing, one has cooperated and the other did not. The persnickety one has simply continued what she was doing when I first attacked her with the harvest scissors, and now the buds are extra done... definitely couch lock material. I will harvest her in 36 hours also and really look forward to tasting her in a few weeks, comparing her to the early harvest.

The other plant definitely freaked out. She threw out new pistils all over. I never saw any nanners, but I have seen lots of suspicious activity around some new pistils in the buds and I am sure that I see swollen calyxes where this is happening. I have resisted the urge to squeeze one or two of them, because I am 90% sure that seeds are growing in there. Tomorrow I will lug her over to the doorway of Boom Room #2 so that she can at least see the 12/12 light and keep going. Hopefully, I will soon have a handful of feminized O. Gelato seeds and armed with the knowledge I am getting on this run regarding O. Gelato pulled early and then late, I will know exactly how long to grow these seeds according to my personal preferences.

In Bloom 2 we are at day 47. For the most part, all of these plants are doing very well. These are hungry plants and if I grew them again I would consider feeding a bit stronger for these exceptional plants with this many buds. Mostly I am keeping up with it and am surprised how much water they are using all of a sudden. Where a few weeks ago I could go 10 days or so between fillings of the rezervoir, this cycle we have gone only 5 days and the tubs were mostly empty.

Several of the plants are now sporting some very colorful leaves
DSCF2408.JPG

and all of the buds are large, firm and getting very pretty. Each day I am more convinced that we have a random phenotype along with 4 other 818 Headbands.

And here we have Candy Dawg, doing exceptionally well in her 5g SIP bucket. These are heavy heavy buds... I wonder if I am about to break my 5g record. It is beautiful seeing this plant fully expressing her genetics thanks to the organic feeding system that is giving her every little thing that she needs, in exactly the dosages she requests. Look at this amazing color in the leaves and stems and of course the buds. A plant named Candy Dawg should be extraordinary... and this one is certainly trying.

Today I give you 818 Headband and Candy Dawg at day 51 of bloom. They are at day 9 in the 14 day feeding cycle and we last watered the reservoirs 4 days ago. Candy Dawg comes into her harvest window in a week, and the Headbands in 2 weeks. I think each of them will be on the far ends of their harvest windows when done, so add a week to each of those harvest estimates.

Then I did a study of the overgrown O. Gelato. I am sure that this one has gone to seed. We will wait her out, until the harvest of these last plants, and then I bet I am going to come up with 50+ feminized seeds for all this extra effort. I see a bunch of very swollen new green calyxes.
