Coco - Northern Lights - 2015 - 1st Grow - 300W LED - Old Mars Hydro

Saw you post over in Stages yard, Ive been running coco for a while now. IMO you can give them a very light feeding. Like 1/8 some sort of B vitamin will help, there is probably some in the root stimulator.
Also your Ph should be a little lower, like 5.6-5.8. Mabey try lemon juice to ph down, seedlings don't like the orange stuff.

I've grown the sensi NL auto. You won't be disappointed.

I wouldn't think you would need vermiculite in your mix with coco. Did you wash your coco and charge it with light nutes to start?? Peace!!

By the way was your last picture around 15 days from sprout or from seed? for some reason I posted thinking it was the former. In any case they'll pick up once more leaves develop.

No I didnt charge it with light nutes or wash it... Next water I will give her some grow nutes (plant magic) and drow the pH to 6...

Thanks for everyone giving me advice!!

It is 15 from sprout - hence my worries - but I will start light nutes now and wait it out!!

Thanks for your help and encouragement!

Thanks for popping over here. Yeah I will try dropping the pH a tad like you said - I will also add some v light growth nutrients. Not sure what B vitamins are but hopefully plant magic growth nutes have some of that stuff in it! The little girl is 15 days from sprout but hopefully she will pick up soon..

Hi there.... As you asked for me too have a look i am here..
:Namaste:
Im no expert on coco....

the babies dont look to bad at all... 1 of them is a bit of a mutant, but fear not...all is not lost....your is not the first plant to do it...

as rightly said above.they normally grow out of it......

i would follow the advice of the coco growers for nutes dosage..give it a try... but dont over do...still very fragile... hopefully you have got a nice big root trying to find food....just waiting for some nutrients....things will pick up.....once the get their 3rd leaves.things pick up speed as more leaves, catch more light..

great introduction to your journal...very informative....:goodjob:

hang in there.....:passitleft:

:Namaste:

Thank you very much for coming over! I really do appreciate the words of encouragement.

I am in the process of providing a small dose to the little girls now like you say.. and good news just 24 hours after doing so- i see the signs of a set of tiny little 3rd set of leaves coming! Maybe she will play catch up.

Thanks for the comment re my description, its built off reading all the journals on here.

As the saying goes:
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

:Namaste: Brother

your welcome ,brother :Namaste:

the first grow is always the most nervous and tentative...its natural..... we all had a " poo ya pants scary" 1st grow..:laugh:

you dont know what to expect, what happens when etc..... its all good, you found :420:......

MONO's using coco to great effect.....1 plant in a 4 x 4 tent..... its his monster.....

he subbed to my journal if you fancy a gander....

anyways fellow grower,i must dash.if i dont take the dog out i think he's gonna drag me out..bless him...

I have no experience with coco, so make sure to follow the experienced please. In my own interests I read that washing coco and light charging was kind of important. Only reason I mentioned it, but don't want you to over feed your plant on my info. Peace!!

Hey world!

Good news, we have some movement. Thanks for the support people!

So here is what has happened since my little panic:

1. Switched my lights to 24 hour cycle - for more light. Im thinking once the plants get a bit bigger to switch back to 18/6. (However, it seems many people have their own opinion on what is best.)

2. First nutes - I gave them some light nutes + root stimulant + plant magic evo spray + lemon juice to get the pH down to about 6.0-6.2.

3. I have been misting the little girls a bit also with the nutes water - I hope this is fine but it seems okay.

3. Second nutes - I just gave them some more nutes a tad stronger - my plants/pot seems to dry out fast so I definitely need to water every two days at the moment.

As you can see I have had some growth:

Oh - One more thing.

I want to give a shout-out to my friends at Sensi seeds. I hope you can do this on the blogs but I just wanted to say they are really nice people. They took a look into my situation and even offered to provide me with 3 more NL seeds! Soo nice!

Even if the start of this grow has been somewhat slow, I'm hoping that I will get the chance to do it all again after this one! Whoo!

:thanks:

Hey breezy12
Isn't :420: a wonderful place?
I saw you reached out to me in my yard.
I was out of town for a few. So many knowledgeable coco experts out here at 420mag that you got right on track quickly.
Subbed.

Thanks Stage for coming over. Yes I am loving the feedback, its invaluable for a noob like me!

Please if I could ask of your expertise regarding one question while you are around though -
Will the major slow/stunting (if this is what this was) affect my yield a huge amount or is it possible that I will somewhat catch up on lost ground? In other words are my girls so terribly far behind that I should consider planting some more autos?

So.. I think my first sign of sprouting was Nov 1 - Here are the pics of my girls today (sorry I took so many but I just love these little girls!):

Breezy
Your girls look fine at this stage. Those pots are a nice size. What size are they? Your gals just need to gettheir legs under them. What is the breeder recommend grow time from seed? Where day are you at now? Use grow nutes until stretching stops. Don't overfeed.

Thanks for taking a look Stage,

The Smart Pot on the left is 3litres / 0.7 gallons - This plant was kinda going to be my secondary plant but is looking rather bushy..

The Air Pot on the right is 10litres / 2.1 gallons - This was going to be my important plant - but as you can see she is a little more slim..

Sensi seeds states that flowering time is between 50-60 days.

Right now I am at DAY 21 from Sprout.. Am I okay?

Many thanks!:thanks:

Hello ladies.

The nutes are definatly working... You may well experience a lower yield, but these girls are resilient as hell... And as said above they can surprise you.... My " runt seed" looked like a bean sprout with a booger on top... She held in there and is now thriving.... Did hold her back, but nature won thru.

Any harvest is to be celebrated in first grow dude, if the yeild is small, you will still have a fine smoke.... But its the lessens learnen and experience gained, that is the real harvest...

Then next grow i garuntee you will be alot less nervous and stressed... It becomes more natural...

Your gonna love it..... :passitleft:
