Nice of you to come by sully508, I'd think about doing 18/4 lighting...saves a bit on leccy and studies have been done that shows its the optimal time (I'll try to dig out the links to this info!) Good luck!nice journal. i started 5 ak-48s from nivana 2 weeks ago they all sprouted and are starting to get its 2nd set of leaves. got it o 24/0.
cant wait to see how yours come out. they look awesome man.

Here's some pics at the end of week 6. The AK48 is said to be finished in as little as 49 days...I'll be keeping my eyes on the trichs....going for a 50% clear/50% milky harvest.

Lookin good there! im sitting here the same colour as the plants! i can almost smell it! Great pics aswell- youve done a great job with this journal- pity the scope cant get us some close ups but hey! Nice one, peace.

Got the microscope working, so here's some trichomes. Looking pretty clear to me, so still a bit off.....I'll be watching them!

Ye, cheers Stakkur, after a second look I agree! Good news since I have to flush today as I'm going away for a few days. Gonna use "Final Rinse" additive since it might be more than a week before harvest and this additive seemingly provides some carbs and sugars for growth during the last period. Anyways hopefully I'm back in time before they go amber. Looking for a heady high rather than couchlock if I can....somewhere in between is good too!

Flushed with Natures Way Final Rinse. 5ml/1l. Flushed with around 25-30L per plant.
More pics before I go away for a few days. One of the plants seem to have a few buds which are foxtailing...I've tried to show it in one of the close-ups. Must be a genetic trait since the other one doesn't do this. Not really too worried...just making more bud for me to smoke!

My carbon filter is working a treat! No telltale odors untill I actually unzip my tent...then I am overcome! Seriously I can't believe the filter does such a good job. Trichs are looking good, mostly milky with about 20% amber. Looking for a heady high, with not too much couchlock, so will be harvesting them real soon. Probably give them a final 12 hour daylight, then into darkness for a day or two. Gonna free the girls from the cage tomorrow, so will post more pics then....hopefully the branches will hold up unsupported! Reckon there should be a couple of zips off each plant so getting exited to find out the weights!

Harvest Day @ 53 Days flowering
Well the last few days have been all go in the tent! Harvest has been completed!
The first plant harvested was the left one (wee aggie). Her yield is the smallest of the two - also less resinous on the bud. I gave her a connoisseurs manicure, basically right down to bud and removing lots of the little leaves...I'll put them through the hashbags later to get some bubblehash!
The other plant (big aggie) was huge! Loads of bud off her. Nice and tight with lots of trichs on the leaves too. Gave her less of a manicure cause there was so much frost I wanted to keep it! Not sure about weights yet as its still drying, but I'd say a few ounces for sure. Here's some pics and if anyone reckons they can estimate how much bud there is, its +reps to you!
Got some nice scissor hash while cutting, but when I went to vape it I dropped the wand of my silver surfer and smashed it! Gonna have to wait till I get a new one till I try it. So weight and a smoke report will follow!

Well the results are in
Final dry weights are;
Wee Aggie (left plant in pics) = 131 grams (4.5 oz)
Big Aggie (Right plant in pics)=148 grams (5 oz+)
Thats work out about 0.45g/watt which is a good bit more than I thought. Real happy with the result!
Not gonna do a smoke report at the moment, since the buds still taste a bit harsh. Dryed for 5-6 days, now in jars to cure. Hopefully will be good to smoke in a week or 2. Have smoked a few nugs and while tasting a bit crap, she does pack a punch!

Been looking forward to this bit for ages! Buds have been curing for a couple of weeks now. Quite a fruity, slightly lemony smell/taste. Got good earthy, musky undertones too. After a wee toke I get a nice head high pretty quickly, and then a creepy body stone comes on. Not too powerful, I still go for a run in the morning after a toke, but at night if I gouch out a bit I feel the couch lock and am quite happy staring into space for a bit too!So a good all-rounder to me.
Here's a pic of some hash I made with bags from hashbag.com. Great prices, speedy delivery and awesome quality...I see them making lots of hash for me and recommend them.
