Hey Bluurghh, since I'm new to this I'm interested to hear more about your method? At the moment I wait until some new growth comes thru the net, then tuck it back under, moving it out towards the outside of the screen. How are you using the ties? and what advantage do they have? Cheers for the advice too!beautiful kali- now its time for a little bondage.I've been using velcro ties to secure my branches in place-you can tie your branches down securely without having to worry about strangulating them.
Kailpot, sweet scrog!
Looking real nice there
Feel free to pinch my shampoo holder idea...thats what its all about on 420 by the looks of it!Dude everything looks very nice. I loooove how neat and clean everything is and the shampoo bottle holder is genius. Girls look great to. I hear what your saying about the thin wire chewing up the delicate leaves, that is why I chose to use 2"x4" holes with a little heavier gauge wire. I think it cuts my working time down because I really don't have to be super careful I basically just go in and start yanking on them and they don't seem to mind a bit.
2" in one day I don't think my screen could sustain that for 2weeks I'm sure I'd be out of room. Reps+++ man for sure...
Velcro Plant Ties - Plant Supplies - Miles Kimball these are nice because theres very little chance of you strangling your branches.Velcro ties expand. The way I do it: imagine tying a necktie-the first step is to crisscross one end of the tie over the other-and thats it-one side of the tie is velcro-the other is the adhesive material. And kali-you're going about this the same way I am-spreading out the branches to the outside of the screen, and letting the side shoots position themselves to your liking on the screen as the branches elongate.I wish I could tell you more, but this is my first scrog as well- and you're about caught up with me-lol.What I've done-and this seems to work well-is wait til you're about 3-4" above the screen, then just "dip" the tops under, to the next 2" section of chicken wire-tying the branches shoots down where you want them to go- you'll notice the canopy will grow in a "radius" on the screen as well-really you'll know what to do when the time comes-just keep the canopy as even as possible. No shit bro, you got a bomb grow here-keep your pimp hand strong.ps; this post was written on 3 blithering idiots(a 12% alcohol beer from Weyerbacher Brewery) so please excuse the grammatical errors.Hey Bluurghh, since I'm new to this I'm interested to hear more about your method? cheers CocoJoe!
I'll take some shots of how I tied my branches down to the screen and PM them to ya.
outstanding!! Love the healthy glow man.So how do you like those ties? I'm really diggin them now that the stretch is on(and brother, it is on for me as well) twist ties are cool- but these ties can be cut to size- longer to train those runnaway branches. It's a daily duty tho aint it?I learned very quickly, that if you let it get away from you for one day-you'll have a shitload of branches to tame the next.Lookin good man, very good.
I hear ya brother!I like to tinker, and this fits the bill.I have a scrog to show you man...I'll PM it to ya...but this cat really put in the work, and it definitely paid off in the end.But even he admitted what a pain in the ass it was lol!Glad those ties are working out.I knew you'd dig the fact that they politely hold the braches in place- and I'll bet everyone that uses them comes up with their own unique way of doing so.I'll send that thread over to ya now man.peacethe velcro ties are great! They feel gentle on the plants and are easily moveable if I haven't gpt the position quite right. Yup, its a daily chore for sure, trimming, tucking, tying...but fun and hopefully all worth it!
