Oh and fungus gnats are larger than the flying form of root aphids, but still visible to the naked eye. ANd yes, you should be able to see root aphids through your loupe

This i dont know. I did read, about their ‘habit’, that the flying stage root aphids travel upwards towards the light from the surface of the soil - they don’t fly around so much apparently - although that’s going to be tricky to gauge in a grow tent with fans going!Do you know if they stay near the surface like fungus gnats, or do they go deeper?

Are they more active after watering? I haven't seen that info anywhere.Oh and mine were grey in colour, not white like that. They come in many colours apparently! LOL!
