Clones In Soil: Hybrid Perpetual Grow 2021/2022

***HELP*****So Here is 1 of the 3 replacement clones, Arise. And she isn’t looking too good atm… thankfully or is it unfortunately lol I haven’t had any deficiencies that I’ve had to deal with on my first grow. So I have no idea what this is or what to do?? I did bend her over a little more to expose all the new growth trying to come in, oh and I gave them all some FF Grow Big yesterday. I’m not sure what kind of soil she is in Bc she came that way (9 days ago). :reading420magazine: It’s a lot sometimes. I’m really trying to remain patient and really trying not to over think these situations. It really helps coming here to talk it out so to say bc as I was typing it dawned on me that maybe she has nute burn and I probably shouldn’t of given her any nutes, but I just don’t know?:passitleft:

Thank you for all your help with the clones I tried to start! But unfortunately I failed. Well partly, I have 3 of the 12 clones I tried to start and got 3 replacement clones from my local dispensary. I really do want to start from seed one of these grows and I’d also like to try an auto but for now I guess I’ll stick with what I know and that’s barely anything.
Ok yeah so I definitely failed at cloning! Only 1of 12 clones survived!! So I now have 4 of the 3 clones I recently replaced and the 1 survivor. What’s important is that I’m pretty sure I know why I failed and 1 major thing stands out the most in my head and that’s me not waiting long enough to cut the clones. I took cuttings 2 weeks before I flipped when I should have waited until at least 2 weeks into flower. So there’s that and a few other things I won’t get into rn but have mentioned in previous posts. Anyways.. I do feel a lot better about these 4 clones and will be doing a few things different as in what I’ll be feeding them and adding to their artificial outdoor environment. I’m also trying LST to where I’m going to try and train each of them to grow into a circle for lack of better words or description. :goodluck:

37 days since these clones have been in soil FF Happy Frog, under a 24/7 light schedule under a T8 light inside a 2x2 SF grow tent. I’ll be switching the light for the SF1000 led (which is only 100w) once my first grow is finished in a week or 2. I’ll also be upgrading to a MH led pretty soon!
1st pic Arise
2nd pic Hood Candy
3rd pic Future (the one I started)
4th Sandia Sangria
All clones are hybrid

Ps. 2nd grow

they look ready for up pot

they look ready for up pot
Ok, I was thinking the same thing. So my plan is to transplant them this week into 1 gallon fabric pots. I’m actually debating weather I really want to up pot or just transplant them into their 3 gallon pots right away like I did my first grow. I just don’t know right now lol I can be so indecisive sometimes smh

1 gal is a bit small. 3 - 5 gal is usually better as a final size.

what's your media ? are you in coco ?

edit : oh sorry, peat based. is it like a promix ? definitely a 3 - 5 gallon.

Oh yeah, no I meant I wanted to put them into 1 gallon then, then 2 and finally 3 gallon. My first grow I stuck them directly into 3 gallon pots and skipped the solo cup stage all together lol… well I actually have my very first clone in a 5 gallon pot. omg yeah it was definitely my first grow but hey what can I say bc they did just fine! But I think they can be so much more if I do the “up potting “ method. I’m currently using FF Happy Frog and their nutes.

Ps. I used peat moss pods then transplanted them into FF, HF.

I’m not sure how to edit the title of my journal. I’m sorry for the confusion. I started the clones in peat moss pods, then once rooted I transplanted them into FF happy frog soil.

they're big enough for the 3 gal now. you'll be on a short veg and earlier flip in 3 gal. it's good if you have space restrictions.

does that mean you are on a water only soil now ? if so they need a big pot to get through flower.

edit : btw they look good at the moment

Oh really? Ok. Yeah I’m only giving them water as of rn I’ll start giving them FF nutes once I up pot. I’m still learning so their are some things I still need to be schooled on. I’m basically trying to do what I did the first grow, with the exception of up potting and adding more nutes. like a guano tea and maybe recharge or something like it.

you can use a smaller pot if on nutes. you will probably still have an easier time with the 5 gal though.

The clones have been rooting in their solo cups for 48 days. I am going to transplant them into 3 gallon pots without up potting bc i can only fit 4, 3gal pots in my tent. I was planning on up potting but it doesn’t look that way anymore. I’m still struggling with a few things. Like when do I start veg? I was thinking once they root enough and are in their 3 gal pots that’s when I start counting Veg days.? I’m also wondering if they can stay on a 24/0 light cycle all through veg? They are definitely ready to be transplanted it’s just that I had to wait until harvest was over. That way they can have the 3x3 tent.

they are in to in veg right now. you can up pot to the next size or final pot right now if you like.

This will be my second grow. I’m right in he middle of curing my first harvest which yielded 5oz, between 3 plants lol now that I know I can grow successfully from beginning to end, I want to really make them burst with flowers this time by adding more than just nutes. I’ll also be upgrading my sf150w led light to something with a little more umph. I’ve also tried some LST and I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little scared by the way they are growing atm lol they definitely need some help, that is for sure! I’ll be up potting them tomorrow into their 3gal fabric pots and topping or fiming too.

So where should I start? I’m pretty sure the reasons why I didn’t get a better yield is bc I starved them all together. I was barely giving them any nutes, as a matter of fact I don’t think they got really anything at all. For example, one of the nutes I use asks for 2-3 teaspoons per gallon of water. I would only give 1 teaspoon per 3 gallons of water. Which was probably rinsing right out, with the amount of runoff I was allowing. Omg… I was just so scared of nute burn or any type of deficiencies to be honest, so yeah I think that had a lot to do with why the yield was so small.
My first bit of advice would be to use the feeding schedule from the manufacturer as your starting point for using any nutrient line. They have tested their product on many grows, so if you had the faith to spend your money on that company, also have faith that they know how you should use them.

The second thing of note is that when you feed to runoff, the nutes aren't washed away because you are feeding them at the same time. Only watering with plain water will leave the plant with less food. Feeding to some runoff is always recommended.

If you want to continue with the Fox Farms trio, I would use their schedule and keep an eye on the plants. Watching the plants is the best way to learn what they need and figure out if you need to make any changes. If you want to switch to a different brand or method of feeding, let me know and I can give some recommendations, including what farside05 is using (that I posted in your other journal).

I finally up potted into 3 gallon fabric pots. I’m trying LST and I think I’ve got the hang of it. Just a few things I was wondering about, like if I should be topping or fimming, while doing LST? I have the light @ 40% and 12 inches from the top of canopy, 24/0 light schedule. I gave them their first dose of nutes this past watering (grow big) so no nutes next watering. I will start will a foliage spray in between watering every other day. I still have a lot to learn on LST and nutes. :snowboating:

Hey Shed! So I was thinking I would stick with FF for now but this time I’ll follow the recommended dosage lol and go from there. But yeah, I really do want to switch and change my method of feeding and nutes. any recommendations you think may benefit my grow, please let me know. I haven’t ordered anything and will need to soon. I still have some grow big and tiger bloom left. I was going to order some recharge to use as a tea.?

I can stand in the back until a scene break to be seated if that's the policy. :ciao:
