Chef De Green Does It All: Reveg, Clones, Autos & Photos

Actually it’s been in a jar for a number of hours now, so let’s see what the rH is... 65. Very good for just a couple of weeks in paper bags. I’ll open it in a month from now..

I smoked over two hours ago and I’m still feelin good.

I plan on harvesting this Terple plant in 4 more days taking it to 70 days. I can't put my finger on what it smells like. I struggle with that actually. It looks like it could be good stuff.

This is my Grandpa Punch which is hanging in my closet drying. I chopped her two days ago. This pheno retained a bit more of the sweet aroma of the Purple Punch parent but the fuel of the Grandpa Glue is still quite strong.

Wow Beez Nice bud, Covered with thick trichomes

Interesting Chef, I was told to stay away from certain ones like cedar, and that pine was good. Waxes huh? I'll keep that in mind if crazy things happen without answers. Thanks!
I was listening to a podcast with a mulch expert and they were talking about the make up of different mulches and how effective they are. She said to stay away from bark.

Your plants are completely out of control these days Beez. :bravo: :adore:

I love the sweet punch coming through on the GP. That one is looking like the best one yet!

have you given the sugar leaves a rub on the Terple? Might bring something out of it

After smelling 2 stroke outboard motor smoke all day yesterday working on an old engine I couldn't smell anything last night. This morning I gave a bottom Terple bud a rub to see what I could smell. She is old school cookies (blueberry sweet undertones) with a hint of citrus BUT the earthy cedar, turpentine, and pine are what I am smelling the most after the oils set on my fingertips.

As someone who has been using pine bark mulch for years, and recommending others to do the same, I am very curious why she said to stay away. Can you give me the 5c synopsis please?

It’s in the talk that Dr. Linda Chalker-Scott did with future cannabis project. I can’t remember exactly where though cause it’s two hours long. I’ll have to go back through it

the function of bark is to keep water in and to keep insects and other pests out. If it’s stopping the permeation of water on the tree, it’s doing the same thing as a mulch which is no good. The bark won’t hydrate and therefore will not help in keeping the top most layer of soil moist. It’s just too hydrophobic on its own. Thus hydrophobia also causes the bark mulch to break down way too slowly. So you’ll be missing out on the composting action that mulch has on your soil’s surface

If one of the jobs of mulch is to slow down evaporation from the upper soil, bark does that. But it doesn't need to retain moisture to do it.
But it does it in a much more biology friendly way if it does retain moisture. Organic mulches are being composted at the soil’s surface, too much hydrophobic materials at that interface is not a good thing. Perhaps you won’t run into issues, but you’re not driving your system as well as you could be by using just arborous wood chips.

Got an update on the Terple here.

Im starting to definitely see seed pods popping up all over. I’ve removed almost all of the growth from the pollen branch. What’s left is the top few nodes that have mostly pistils(now seeds) and nanners. Despite losing a bunch of leaves before my last update, she’s still plugging along. She looks healthy to me. I’ve been keeping up a lot better on the water; a few quarts in the top and a quart in the saucer every other day. I think she’s staying moist but not too wet.

That last photo is the top of the reverse branch. It’s got a lot of browned off pistils already and should be carrying some decent seed. The rest of the buds have clear seed pods if you look closely in the photos, even in buds on the other side of the tent. There’s gonna be a lot of Terple seeds I think.
