Chef De Green Does It All: Reveg, Clones, Autos & Photos

I was going to ask if you had added malted barley as a tea.
@MagicJim The coots nutrient/mineral mix has malted barley in it. Then at the flip I grind up 1/2 cup of malted barley and kelp meal and scratch that into the surface and water it in. I add another 1/2 cup of ground malted barley 3 weeks into flowering the same way scratching it into the soil.

Quick flower tent update folks.

everything is really coming along nice... mostly. The Xanadu still hasn’t done anything much... I’m not sure but I think I grew her too tall. From the way her low low down nodes are still growing, she likes lower light. Her uppers and tops have stopped for almost 3 weeks now.

The other 3 plants look marvelous though. My mystery plant/DDa seems about done stretching, same with my CnC pheno#1. The CnC pheno#2 is frosting up good and starting to put fatness into her buds. She’s also got a number of first round orange pistils. I wish I would’ve been a bit more detail oriented cleaning up her skirt, but it’s fine. I’m down to my last couple hundred gummies anyway.

That’s it for flowers. I’m about to rearrange my veg tent. That’s coming up next.

You guys wanna hear a funny story? I was resetting my pollen closet since all my moms are now drying. I was planning to take the UFO light out and just run with the little Growant panel. So I took the UFO down, and the closet went dark. ‘That’s odd.’ I thought to myself, and I tried the GROWant light on the other side of the extension cord, Still nothing. Well what the fuck. I took the light down and plugged it in in the kitchen. Half of the diodes barely light up, the other half don’t do anything. Who knows for how long it’s been this way too... it could’ve died in a week or less. So all that hassle I went through, and I got a light that lasted a couple months at most. What an embarrassment.

Alright we’ll, after some very careful engineering, I bring you all my very first SCROG

Ive been very interested in trying a scrog because you can grow some impressive bushes in tighter spaces. The problem is, a scrog is very much of a monkey wrench in a perpetual setup... so I’ve never been able to try one. Until now, which leads me to my next point. I’m gonna be shutting down my perpetual garden for a bit. I’ve got more than enough jars to take a break for 4-6 months... if I can endure that long.

Okay, now let’s get to the nitty gritty. The girl I’m scrogging is a cut off of my Sour Bubba Bonsai mom. The smoke from the promix/Megacrop Sour Bubba is so fantastic, I didn’t think twice about my decision. This clone, however, is in coots organic soil. I also innoculated her new pot with wow mycos. Before she looked like a big plant in a little pot, now she looks like a baby in this huge pot.

It took me a while to install. I really want to get the tension right so that it stands up against the branches trying to grow up into it. I think I did a decent job.

I put the trellis 30 inches alway from the light. I’m planning to install another one at 18 inches away or so. I’m wondering how using a second trellis changes when I should flip... maybe there’s someone out there that can help me.

Any info I share with you about scrogging is just book/article knowledge. My understanding is that the second net is installed when you flip the plant and is about 2-4" above the top of the plant. As the plant stretches and you're bending the branches outward beneath the second net those little secondary nodes grow upwards through the net and become sizeable buds on longer stems as opposed to smaller nuggets tight against the branch. Not sure that makes sense to ya'll but I know what I meant. ;)

I have always been told that to do a scrog proper you need smaller squares. With the big (4x4in?) squares you are basically just using it as a support trellis. I have scrogged once and made a frame out of pvc and then wove rope through it giving me 2 inch squares. I did 4 different strains under it and it was a pain in the ass. One strain, or one big ass pot should make it easier.

This netting is 3” squares. It seemed appropriate. It’s clearly not just a support trellis, cause I’m spreading the plant out wide with it.. if I have trouble keeping things in place, I’ll tie the branches to the trellis with butcher twine. This first one will be for making the tent absolutely wall to wall of canopy. I think see what Beez means though, I’ll use the second trellis almost like I would super crop. As the plant stretches I’ll lay the branches flat so all those lowers are tops.

Either way, it’ll be a learning experience with a pot full of gold at the end of the rainbow. Should be fun.

either way, Penny, I know this light produces great buds.. as does the coot mix. I know the genetics are top quality as well. The flowers are going to be insane, it’ll just be a question of how much larf there is. I’m hoping for none.

Thanks Burdok! It’s gonna be a lot of fun. First organic plant, first scrog. She’s off to a fantastic start already as well,

My first run sour Bubba seed plant yielded pretty good.. I got 3 full mason jars out of her. The buds were fairly fluffy though so probably only 4oz or so. If I can do a HP out of this scrog, I’ll be plenty satisfied. It’s gonna be all head stash anyhow

*edit: I don’t know why I said “really need to flip” the sour Bubba.. I don’t really need to in 4 weeks.. it just needs to be in flower by the time I put my last plant into my perpetual tent.. I’ve got IIP, LAC, Terple, and BCP That still need to flower out.. all of those plants will be in flower when the mystery plant comes down.. at which point I’ll definitely want to flip the sour Bubba, if I haven’t already.
