Thanks Buddy!! There are no LED's in the Veg room! What you are seeing is 1000w of pure HID light! I wish I could afford some good LED's. Someday I will make the plunge.

I put my cfl's within an inch of the plants or so - I buy those y-splitters, and put two of them side by side and right over the plants (no reflectors). Not saying reflectors are bad - just that I don't use them, though I have reflective material not too far above them. They really are great for veg.

Now I kind of wish I would have bought 2 150watt bulbs with the splitter instead of the one 300w!!

ive seen some other grows with the cfl in the middle

I remember that elaborate CFL lighting room!! CFL's everywhere. Looked almost like a contemporary art exibit!!
I have really changed my attitude towards those lights. I can see how much the LED plants are liking the extra light too. It is a nice combination. My new defination for CFL ...Cant aFord Led's!!

I seen this setup and thought some of you could make
it and add it to your grow rooms.

That is one cool CFL set up!! Looks like it would be easy to assemble too!! Wow!! I would probably be ok with just half of the wattage that one is putting out. But I really like the idea!! Looks like something I might do myself in the future if I ever get more room for the veg space!!

CF! My brother from another father...and mother.

I found out after a few trials with hoods and cfl's that it's better to be able to have them not fixed to the hoods. What I mean is that they need to be able to get raised and lowered indepently because our plants like to grow out like plants.

Those biggg Cfl's realy only cause more heat then they do light. I found that putting them 32? watters in close proximetry to lower bud sites did a great job. A reflector can collect heat if not vented right too. So it's smaller VS BIGGER...and my wife can tell you herself..smaller wins!

Thanks My Gro Bro!!! Great post!! I was wondering if I went too big with the 300w CFL. It is doing a great job but I could have more and more efficently have a broader light coverage over the plants. I like the idea of having several 75w. Is that still to big of wattage?
