Looking good CF! Your flowering plants look scrumptious. That Chemdawg is a real beauty, heck they all are!

Not sure on the LED bulb, but that sure doesn't seem like many lumens (lumens aren't super important per se', but there's a bit of an indirect correlation). If I recall correctly, a 100w equivalent CFL would put out nearly 10 times the lumens of that bulb. I like T5's and CFL's both for vegging - is that an option for you?

i use t-8 litro grow bulbs for vegging and side lighting in bloom good stuff expensive as shit tho
my vegling is usually only under 50 watts total but then like i said vegling not plural but i could probably stick at least 2 more under there
not bad for 50 watts total
i could have 2 fixtures 4 bulbs at only 100 watts and comfortably veg 6 plants
bloom is 2-100 watt advanced led's diamond series and 100 watts total t-8 for side lighting
for me its all about keeping the heat and the utility cost down
but it seems to be doing pretty good
using only a total of 300 watts in bloom
but then again i dont have a forest growing like a bunch of you do lol

And I am honestly jealous. I have for years have wanted to buy a motorhome and tour the country!! Now I know you are planning the same so I am busting your Big Fish Chops!!!! When you do finally get the motorized contraption going you are going to have to come down to Wally World and visit!!! I will make sure you stay medicated the whole time you are here!!!

Hey there X! Thanks for the info. I was thinking the exact same thing about the lumens. Too bad they cant make a 120w LED bulb. I might pull out my wallet for that. For now I think I am going to go with some CFL's. Just worried about the heat but I have a plan on ducting the house ac into my tent. I did it before and can do it again!!

Hey the Buddy!! I am so amazed at how you and others can have the discipline and faith to grow such beautiful plants with such low wattage!! LED or not! And I know you do a great job in growing. I missed visiting you when I was in Hawaii but when I come back and to my rental beach shack I would love to meet you too!! I have 180w of LED UFO light in the closet now and just do not feel comfortable with that!! There must be something seriously Wrong with me!!

I decided to get more light for the veg room today. Picked up a 300w CFL at the hardware store for about 17.00. They had the 150w for around 9.00 but I couldn't resist the extra power. I am glad I did too! This is the first time I have ever used a CFL light and I am pleasantly surprised at how much light it is putting out and how little heat it is adding to the grow space. This is going to work out real good!!

Grow Room Update. New 150w CFL is really doing the job in the veg closet. This was a very inexpensive way to drastically increase the lighting I have.

The Flowering Girls are about 2 weeks away from harvest. They are really plumping up and putting on some nice trichs.

just a suggestion but if you made a circle of your plants and took the hood off the cfl, then you could use that right down in the middle of the plants. do you know what I mea? or am I stoned and thinking about something I saw with a bong on some other journal that had vertical tendecies

I never thougth of that. It could work. However. I might be concerned about the heat. Also, wouldn't that mean less light for the outside edge? I was actually thinking about adding another and flowering some girls in the tent too! I have ac ducted into the top of the tent from the home central ac unit.

Not trying to shoot down your idea buddy. Actually like the idea. I wonder if anyone else has done this with a CFL and had any issues.

rekon if you can get that bulb closer you will get more benefit, oh and if you lower it the hood would reflect the led light back up.
might be more work but you could turn the pots every once in a while. I have a 90watt and a 65watt cfls on each side of my grow area. every so often the plant will grow into the light and burn a couple fans but it works for me:)

Great info buddy! I am lazy so I am going to have to think about lowering the CFL. Don't want to be turning the plants with my bad back. But I like the idea of adding to the flower room. The only reason I have the hood on is I thought it would direct more light downward. I would definately remove it if I lowered it. I might just remove it anyway. I think it is too small do do a good job.
