I understand. I told her that there had been mold on part of it, and that I had treated it, but it was only for external use (and I marked the bag also). She still wanted it.
I am praying it will be all right.
WooHoo! I make a very potent stem soak with isopropyl alcohol, but you could use bud. Do you think that would kill the nasties?

You can strain and use as is, or evaporate and add to any other carrier.

If you are talking about the mold, many things kill mold, but that's not the point. The problem are the toxins produced by mold, and those toxins persist after the mold is dead. These are called mycotoxins and are a nasty health hazard. There are different mycotoxins produced by different molds.

Again, there are two different things going on here... 1) how best to extract cannabinoids from the bud material (i.e. oil or solvent), and 2) how best to deliver the medicine as a topical that will seep into the body.

Isopropyl alcohol isn't a good solvent, because you can't ingest it (it's toxic). If you are extracting with isopropyl, and then evaporating it off, you will still be left with a small amount of it in the finished product. The best alcohol to use is high-quality, organic food grade ethanol. If not that, Everclear grain alcohol. However, alcohol does seep into the body some when applied topically, and this is generally not a great idea. So, oil-based preparations are better.

If you really want the topical preparation to deliver the medicine into the body, then use high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade DMSO. Care must be exercised with DMSO, because whatever molecules are in your mix, they will be taken into the body. In fact, DMSO is a solvent, so you need to be careful about whatever it comes into contact with.

😂 Here is my new $71 USD indoor (EDIT) light hanging frame, by the Fred Flintstone "We Don't Need No Stinking Bullet Level!" Construction Company 😂
They Do Not Build Them Like This Anymore.jpg

He seems like a VERY nice man! And he seemed honest. And he showed up when he said!
Only, I do not believe we are ready for NASA yet (EDIT) but it should at least hold lights high enough to do photos, for when it is time.

Quality Flintstones Construction.jpg

I wanted it maybe 6" higher than that, but that should be good enough for photos, and it will give me plenty of warm storage for all of the cobs, aleluyah~~~ :slide::slide:

I'm confused, Med. What the heck are we looking at here? It looks like you've set up a bamboo frame inside a room of your house. I must guess this is a big tent, not a greenhouse. :scratchinghead:

Oh, sorry!
The problem is that the old plastic frame hung the lights a bit low. I thought if I were to "raise the bars" so to speak, I could have sufficient overhead to grow photos.
They do not do 2x4's here, but rather sticks of bamboo.
Hard to explain their system, but the lady with the varicose veins brought her friend to do the job, because he is honest, and will not steal (which is the only way to go here).
So, I asked him if he could please build me a frame to hang lights from, to replace the plastic hoopdies, and this is what he built me. 😂

I want to grow autos the next grow, but after that, it will be nice to have the option for photos, so I thought, "As long as I am redoing the greenhouse, I might as well raise the light hangers, in case I get time to do photos later...."

WooHoo! I ABSOLUTELY ❤️ the bamboo structure!

Hi all! It is nice to be back! I did not expect to be gone this long. It has been super busy with staff cuts. I'm doing almost 2 jobs now so it's run run run but I need to grow!
My landlady wants to sell, so I need to grow while I can! It has been way too long since I got to grow! I had a little bit of time today to finish the grow room, and now I am packing SIPs with supersoil. Is there someway to know who all is subscribed to the thread, so I can invite everyone?
Thank you. Autistic people do not always know the etiquette :(
SubCool Supersoil in SIPs with EWC, CBD Autos for Aspergers
Anyway, I am really happy to be growing again!! That is an understatement! I am super super excited! :slide::slide::slide::slide:
Now I just have to pack SIPs and soak!!
Welcome to the new thread! It would be great if someone could please tell me how best to notify everyone.

Hey Med, good to hear from you. Basically everyone who has been following your thread here will get an email notification, so they'll know about your new thread.

I am scoping out which seeds I'm going for next, and so far I've identified two of Subcool's strains, Chernobyl and Agent Orange. Specifically the pheno of Chernobyl that's known as Slymer. Both of these are terpinolene-dominant, which is what I'm looking for, for high bud rot resistance. One is a sativa, the other a sativa-leaning 50/50. I'm also searching for indicas now that have significant amounts of terpinolene, and so far Grand Daddy Purple may be the winner.

:ciao:

Excellent, thank you.

You can say a lot of things about Subcool, but he did a lot with CBD sativas. Haha, he named one for a nuclear disaster, and another for an ongoing chemical nightmare...

Chernobyl and Agent Orange are not CBDs. I don't know if he worked on any pure CBD strains (chemotype 3). I'm guessing not. Pennywise is one of his, which is a potent 1:1 strain: HERE.

Jack the Ripper and Jacks Cleaner are part of his lineage for Chernobyl and Agent Orange, and maybe used for other strains as well. Seedfinder has a write-up with some of his breeding notes HERE. And all of his strains w/ notes are linked HERE.

Thank you, MIke.

here's an example of a hempy clone :

full

that one was a reveg that i left in the cup a bit too long :cheesygrinsmiley:
i actually trimmed the thing when the pic was taken then up potted.

to hempy clone :

it's just a cup full of perlite with a hole about a third from the bottom as pictured.
the cutting is shoved into the cup of perlite
feed about every 3 - 4 days at early veg strength. it won't use the res in that time but you want to refresh it.
run them under veg light levels and day/night cycle time.
when you up pot you can move them into any media you want. you don't have to finish them hempy.

finally watch the damn things. they'll root in and start asking for higher nute levels usually before you're ready lol.

somebody send mercy bitcoin ...
Hey @bluter , this is great. Thank you. I am glad that I bookmarked this.
Question, when you shove your cutting into the cup of perlite, do you line the cut end up with the top of the hole? Or the bottom of the hole? Or do you just push it all the way to the bottom (so that the bottom stays in water), and then the perlite is there to hold the thing up?
Thank you 🙏

i like to suspend the cutting but both work. i don't put anything but perlite and the cutting in the cup. i feed at early veg levels, or maybe a hair under right from the start. it's not difficult.

Awesome, thanks.
My clones were dying, and I put them juuust above the waterline, , so I thought I should try pushing them all the way in.
This NL CBD is tall and leggy, so I am hoping it is a sativa (and I do not want to lose it), so I broke out the heat mats and I am putting moisture domes.
(I am also putting a few in soil, to see if that works for me.)
:thanks:

It says 77F and 98% humidity.

Any cuttings in hydro (perlite, hydroponic, aeroponic) don't need domes, and in fact root faster without them. Only ones rooting in soil need to be domed. If the leaves are being kept moist there's no incentive to grow roots.

EDITED: Awesome! 👏 Thank you, Shed! I pulled the dome over the perlite ones. :thumb:

EDITED: Any ideas why my clones I put at the waterline were dying? (Besides I did not do it right? 😂 )
The stems were rotting in half jist below the top of the perlite. (it would be great to know how to do it right both ways.)

If it is useful information, the covered patio gets down to about 65 at night and maybe 73+ during the day.
The perlite ones are now on a heat mat. (It is 77F under the dome.)
I tried to put the stems very close to or just barely above the waterline.
