Carmen And Tassie Compare Notes: Big Angel And Super Mazar Autos

Thank you :high-five: Gee has said that if a plant's roots are too tightly bound they take a good while longer to settle in than if they are loose and free. I have found this to be the case. It's good motivation for me to uppot earlier before the roots bind up.
Yep, I'm up-potting mine early as well. Barely saw the root peeking out the drain hole, so went for it.

Weekly Update: Week 2

So far so good in the seedling department. No issues to report. The Super Mazar, despite being 3 days younger, is bigger than the Big Angel with side branches starting to show. The Big Angel is still growing frilly, variegated leaves.

I gave them some fish water and a top dressing of EWC, which I spritz to moisten throughout the day.

Cross fingers that I can get my latest seed effort off the ground. I've lost a few seeds that I couldn't germinate and I now have another, two days in dirt! I need to grow a third indoor plant to make the most of the light that is burning.

Happy weekend and thanks for looking!
Wow, your girls look brilliant!! They do look quite happy in their new homes 🏡 makes me think about up potting, but i think I might wait a little while yet.
I'll drop an update shortly 😉
@TassieTurtleman your seedlings are giant I bet they are taking off
Thanks G13! I didn't think they were that big tbh, but I'm hoping they explode with growth soon enough!

Week 2 Update:

Man, I can't believe that's it's really been 2 weeks already! After spending some time outside in not the best of conditions, I probably stunted their grow a little bit, now that they are back under the light, hopefully they'll improve rather quickly and then I will move them down to their permanent position.
They haven't grown a whole lot taller, but i think they've gotten quite a bit bigger, maybe it's just me idk.

Here's the Super Mazars, I think they're definitely going to be the best out of the 2 strains.

Here's the Big Angels, they're still scrawny looking, just bigger and scrawny lol!

My big angels definitely aren't as good as yours Carmen, but i think my Super Mazars will be good rivals 😉

Thanks! It's a new day and they still look good so I am pleased.

Are you seeing any roots showing up in the drainage holes yet?
I'll drop an update shortly 😉

Maybe they want to spread their roots a bit. I'm sure under the lights their growth will be more decisive.

My Super Mazar is the stronger plant too.

My Big Angel is the variegated one and it is pretty scrawny too. It's three days older than the Super Mazar and not even showing branches yet.

They're looking good Tassie. Particularly considering they've been in hiding for a week. The fun is going to begin soon!

:woohoo:

Yours are looking super!
Sorry if I missed it but if the variegation is genetic, I've found those leaves often take on funky shapes as the grow.
No worries, I think it is genetic and the leaves are just a bit frilly. I've seen frilly leaves before in non-variegated plants so I'm not worried about that. It is a bit of a weak grower though which is not so encouraging. It's not showing branches yet, whereas the younger Super Mazar is branching beautifully. I'm not wild about running a small plant under lights but I almost have a third plant, a Bubblegum Extra. I hope I make some Con-sized plants this time!

i'm also curious to see how well they grow with LST & organics

Thanks! It's a new day and they still look good so I am pleased.
Thats great news 😀

Not quite yet, hopefully soon 🤞

It's funny you know, I've got a Zkittlez auto that's in flowering atm. I started her in the 5gal pot from day 0. She sat there being 3-4 inches tall for like a month, then suddenly one day I came out and she was 3ft tall, like it happened overnight 😳
My Super Mazar is the stronger plant too.
I've noticed that, definitely in the same boat there.

Yeah these BAs are definitely a weird breed, I'm glad I'm not the only one 😅

Thanks Carmen, you're right, now they'll be under lights for a few more days, then out in the sun, the growth should be alot stronger 😀

Today's reading says...
Perfection Indeed!

They are Absolutely Gorgeous today! 😍

Looks like the variegation is continuing on new leaves?
So that's what you call it? I got the same thing going on with my little 🐳 s. Is it genetics or what? Stoned minds need to know.

Thank you MS! I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad I took your advice and transplanted when I did!

Yes this is genetic. I didn't notice the variegation in yours. I must have another look.

Thanks Tassie! Yes, let's have a look at your plants too!

Thanks Tassie! Yes, let's have a look at your plants too!
As requested and promised 😉
They are both so different in so many ways, glad I got the chance to grow these with you Carmen, they're super interesting 😁

Here's the BA girls, one is shorter than the other, but they're healthy, gave them a light dose of potassium silicate today!
Here's the underside of #1, she's a little taller than her sister. Also not showing as much red in the stem anymore!
Here's the underside of #2. Kinda looks like she's dancing 💃
Here's the SM girls, they're my favourite, I think they'll be pretty bushy! Also one is shorter than the other, but healthy.

Here's the underside of #2. Also dancing 💃
I've been taking them out during the day, as it's been VERY sunny and chucking them back under the lights of a night. Starting to show roots at the bottom of the cups, so I reckon I'll transplant tomorrow!
