Carmen And Tassie Compare Notes: Big Angel And Super Mazar Autos

Hey all,
I went and checked on the sprouts today. Where they are isn't the best spot ad it doesn't get the most sun, but it's safe, so that's the main thing. I gave them all a water, with a light dose of ferts. I'll be moving them down to a better spot tomorrow 😌

Here's the Angel's 😇

Here's the Super Mazars

They were a little droopy because of not much sun for a few days. But they've gotten a bit bigger and will be happy once they're down in their new home 🏡
I bet they'll be super happy in the full sun when they get there! They're looking good.

May i ask why are you topping them?
I like the structure of the canopy of the topped plant. I feel that topping plants encourages better budding.

Thanks Miss C, theyre definitely hanging in there, our days are now about 15hrs of full sun, so they should explode with growth!!

Weekly Update: Week 2

So far so good in the seedling department. No issues to report. The Super Mazar, despite being 3 days younger, is bigger than the Big Angel with side branches starting to show. The Big Angel is still growing frilly, variegated leaves.

I gave them some fish water and a top dressing of EWC, which I spritz to moisten throughout the day.

Cross fingers that I can get my latest seed effort off the ground. I've lost a few seeds that I couldn't germinate and I now have another, two days in dirt! I need to grow a third indoor plant to make the most of the light that is burning.

Happy weekend and thanks for looking!

Love your spreadsheet! Damn you are organized.

Thanks. All credit to HashGirl though. It was she who started with the spreadsheets.
Do you think up potting the Big Angel auto would help her improve quicker? 🤔
Why do you think that might help, MedScientist? I like to see roots at the bottom of the pot before I up pot. I feel these may be a bit small to transplant. Also, I think that the variegation is genetic, so I'm not sure that transplanting will help with that. The plan was to up pot as soon as I see roots, which is usually around the development of the fourth node.

I think the leaf coloring looks kewl, but the irregular leaf shape reads like something is off. Moving to a larger pot gives the roots more room to find what it needs or something. A fresh bed of soil has remedied many plants! 🪴

I don't see any danger in waiting. It's just the way I grow I guess. When things are off, I try to reset to ideal conditions.

Thank you. I took your advice and transplanted them into the bigger pots. I hope that whatever you are seeing in the Big Angel corrects itself. The roots were not well developed in either of them yet.

Ignore the tag on the rh plant, the Super Mazar. It says Blueberry from a previous grow!

😋 Sweet! Such a Smooth transition! And a ViparSpectra xs1500pro over each one! ❤️

I Absolutely ❤️ these lights!

PS. I love these lights too! I will get a third under the two of them. If only I could get one to sprout! lol
Ugh I'm having my own sprouting trouble right now so I feel for you. Sending the good vibes to you and your little seeds :surf:. The girls look great in their new homes!

@TassieTurtleman your seedlings are giant I bet they are taking off :morenutes:.

Hope you Southern Hemisphere'ers have a good weekend. It's supposed to snow here this week so enjoy that sun for me 😂.

Thanks and right back at ya!

I think Gee's Ol' Lady soil moisture wisdom is to be thanked. Getting the LOS to the correct moistness before the transplant is key to me having an easy transition, after which I gave them each 500 ml to water them in. There should be enough soil moisture to keep them going for a while.

It has been a glorious, sunny day. I hung out at the Whale Watch for a while with a friend. There are vendors selling coffees and Austrian cuisine.
They look perfectly okay with it.
Nice job. :high-five:
Thank you :high-five: Gee has said that if a plant's roots are too tightly bound they take a good while longer to settle in than if they are loose and free. I have found this to be the case. It's good motivation for me to uppot earlier before the roots bind up.
