Carestaker's - Hybrid LED / HPS Powered 4x4 - Various Strains

Congratulations on big win...like winning the Super Bowl. Well deserved imo. Great work. Glad I was along to enjoy the ride.:goodjob:

Very glad to have you along BL! :high-five: Thank you for the kind words, and sharing your grow as well. I'm grinning from ear-to-ear, and really looking forward to what's next for everyone, as it seems everyone is kicking it up a notch :cheertwo: I can't imagine next year's contests!

Congrats on your win Carestaker.

UPDATE

Snowbound, and I had some time to sit and write today (and plenty of cured Cotton Candy), so it's a bit of a scroll. I hope it's not too long. :smokin2:

All of the girls are showing signs of flowering today. To start my clock for 'flowering', I do not use pistils. I wait till the leader tip starts to change from looking like sprouting leafs, to a small centered knot. Once I can detect the start of the tip change, is when I start my count. I do not wait for the process to complete though - as I feel that that development is part of the flowering period. This way of counting has been more reliable for me, when timing out plants, and reading breeders recommendations. :reading420magazine:

ASD Flower 2/7
BD Flower 2/7
CL1 Flower 2/7
CL2 Flower 2/6 (Smudgy the Male)
HG69 Flower 2/7
Kush Flower 2/7

All of the girls are doing really well, although not all of them are girls.
CL2 (smudgy) didn't show sex until flower, and instead of calyxes, she's got balls. :whoa: I'll come back to that. In her absence, BD and ASD will spread out, and I'll stop pruning them to allow for more side branches. I doubt that the loss of the 1-of-6 will change my ending yield by much. So, 5-Fems 5-Strains.

I've done a very light defol over the last week, maybe 50 leafs total from all plants. Had I only had the 5 plants at the time, I wouldn't have pulled as many. They have received nutrients with their last three irrigations, with Base nutes @ 5ml/gal (31% strength), and supplements listed on page1 of this journal @ (25% strength). I cannot take them out of the tent during daylight, so these pics were taken with CFLs and my cellphone. A few of the cuttings I took a week ago have started to root, so I already have rooted backups of ASD and both CLs. The remaining 9 clones all seem to be viable, and I expect them to make it. I'm sure I'll figure out some good use for them. :) Maybe I'll run them with some F2 Candylands :) I may soon have some extra space to play around with such things.

Ken's Candyland, CL1, Born, 12/10 Topped 12/28, final pot 1/8, Flower 2/7

I'm not sure how she's going to go as she's so short at 14" from soil, but she's looking good. She's moderately nute, temp, RH and light sensitive, while also being a bit hungry. :hmmmm: Sounds like a typical woman. :;): She seem to prefer a fairly narrow and moderate temp range, and higher humidity in veg. She's a fair bit fussy imo. This pheno is not what I would recommend to a beginner, but I only have these two plants to go by. Some info, is better than no info maybe. I suppose if growing them again, it would be pretty easy, but 'finding' them was a little bit of a challenge. Beautiful plant though. I think I can see something special, I just don't know of it's worth the extra effort yet. The interruption might have upset her too - I'm just sensing something's not 100% with her. That just goes to show how lucky I've been this run, she's my 'clunker'. :yahoo:

Ken's Candyland, CL2 (Smudgy) Born, 12/10 Topped 12/28, final pot 1/8, Flower 2/7(Male)

CL2 is a male. He's got a more open and taller structure than his sister - so - I'm considering keeping him around for a bit to chuck some of his pollen on CL1 for some seeds. I would then chop him, and then reuse the soil for my next Reg seed, as there will be 'male' hormone in the soil. :smokin2:

cl214.jpg

BD, Born, 12/10 Topped 12/29, final pot 1/8, Flower 2/7

Still loving this plant. I took three clones, just to make sure. Other then topping her once, I've done very minimal training on her, she just wants to grow this way. She evened herself out so well. :thedoubletake: She's 28" from soil.

Master Kush, Born 12/11, final pot 1/8

She is elegant in her symmetry. Deceptively simple looking, but the details are quite nice. I didn't highlight it in the pics, but she's got a really deeply cupped fan leaf. I'll post it next time. Really liking how she grows, and she's smelling great. She likes to be fed, but likes to be dry - so high porosity is almost a must for her. Super easy plant to grow IMO, she doesn't complain, but will glow if you treat her right. She's 22" from soil.

HolyGrail69, Born 12/11, final pot 1/8

Another cool plant. She's just like hanging out, and slowly pushing up her lower canopy. I rotate the other girls, but this one is just set up for being side lit. I'll leave her in one place. She's got some high indications of polyploidism. She's got three consecutive nodes where she put out three branches/leaf sets. Most of her leafs are double serrated, and they are of a high count (20). She strongly stinks like a combination of every pot plant you ever smelled - almost like it seems like it changes minute to minute. She's about 28'' and a skinny minnie.

HSO Amherst Sour Diesel, Born, 12/10, final pot 1/8, Flower 2/7

I can't wait. Also looks to be polyploidal. Drinks a lot. N demanding, but not sensitive. She's easy to clone, and she's got that ChemD smell. I've got some high hopes. She's also 28".

I'm thinking of knocking up my CL1 with some CL2 pollen about three weeks prior to chop..or whenever I need to - I gotta look into that. If anyone has any advice, I'm all ears. First time I'd be getting seeds on purpose.:battingeyelashes: I would like to paint a lower branch with pollen:popcorn:, as late as I can prior to harvest, as these two phenos are different, and I feel they might produce some nice F2's.

Peace and love. :peace:'n:Love:

Beautiful, stellar plants CS!

For the pollen I would recommend pollenating CL1 as soon as the pollen is ready. Unless you were planning to just harvest all the buds except the pollenated branch and let that run for a couple more weeks. This is just going off of my little experience with harvesting seeds. My last grow the seeds were harvested 5 weeks after pollination and they have just a slight green hue to them. Another week would have been perfect. It probably depends on strain to though. My sannies jack seeds were a dark brown and harvested probably after 8 or 9 weeks after pollination. Both seeds are growing great so I think there is plenty of room to play with there. It just seems to me that 3 weeks may not quite be enough.

Enjoy the rest of this weekend bro.:volcano-smiley:

Update: DAY 10 Flower

I've revised the Kush's flower date, as she really wasn't showing till the 10th. I've been feeding just water with CaMg and a tweek here and there, and am just now getting back to my feeding schedule, after the move. I've been feeding at approx 25% Sensi Bloom, then water, water, feed again. I'll eliminate one of the water cycles, and go to feed, water, feed around wk3. Wk4-5 will be feed only, unless otherwise indicated by the plant. I don't keep a book of it anymore - I just go by what I feel, after careful observation :volcano-smiley:

ASD Flower 2/7
BD Flower 2/7
CL1 Flower 2/7
CL2 Flower 2/6

Kush Flower 2/10 (revised, pics from day 7)

Ken's Candyland, CL1, Born, 12/10 Topped 12/28, final pot 1/8, Flower 2/7

She's not growing vertically, stuck at 14", but is branching a bit. I think she got stunted by the 'move' which put her in a box, in the cold, for about an hour. I don't expect much from her 1z-2z, and I'll have to prune her heavily underneath for airflow. I was going to paint some pollen on her from CL2, which turned out to be male, but thought better of seeding what might be a weak genetic - before seeing how she finishes and smokes. I've got cuttings from both if I change my mind. Thanks to Allsmiles for his pollen advice, I'll use it one of these days. :high-five: She may look funny, but she has some great leafs, and smells like something I really want to smoke. I have two clones of her on deck - and I'll give her another go. I've been known to be partial to fiesty ladies, and this one might be worth the effort. I can appreciate her attitude though. :smokin2:

BD, Born, 12/10 Topped 12/29, final pot 1/8, Flower 2/7

I usually try for one BBW per grow, and she's going pretty strong at 41". Her canopy isn't even, but I don't want to mess with her while she's stretchin' just in case. She hasn't needed much ferts, but I did load her up a bit after getting her back from the water-only diet, she had while away. After seeing just a hint of tip burn, and N claw on a couple leafs, I realized I might be a little to heavy, and watered with only benes for 2 irrigations, before feeding again at 1/4 strength. She's back in the pocket, and stretching, just like I like. Looking very productive, with a secondary canopy that is open and strong enough to deliver tight buds.
I've taken about 4 or 5 fans from her.

Master Kush, Born 12/11, final pot 1/8

A pleasure to grow. She's 26" from soil, and a sexy square shape. As long as you are in the ballpark with water, Light, Nutes, Temp, RH, she's just gonna smile. Perfect first plant IMO. I'm not going to hit any of these plants too hard, but she might get some higher doses than the other Sativa leaning plants. Truly a wonderous structure that won't translate into pics - but she's so symmetrical and predictable, and has just the right strength of limb to bend if you are into that. :) I've done really no defol on her, but will after wk2.

HolyGrail69, Born 12/11, final pot 1/8

She's dark and exotic, and smelling like Haze and mint, with smokey pepper. If I had to choose my favorite smell, she comes in right after the CL1 in terms of aroma. She's a bit thin in the stem, and has grown like a small sativa hybrid, 31" tall. I think I've taken about 4 leafs while in flower. A bit of a wallflower for the moment, but I expect that that will change soon. :)

HSO Amherst Sour Diesel, Born, 12/10, final pot 1/8, Flower 2/7

She is building some big buds, and looks like she will build thick colas, rather than push out branches like BD. She got a bit sad for a day or two. She was fed on a day that went way below zero, and her pot got pretty cold, mabye a little below 60F. I think she's stalled at 31", but she might creep a bit more. I have to remember that I'm only ten days in. I will try to grow her clone out with an organic base nute, and see how she likes it. She's got that gas smell - but it's still pretty mild. I can see sparkles on some of her big fans, and a couple of her fans are over a foot wide. I've taken about a dozen or so fans around the two main colas to allow for light. I should have pre-flower defoled like I usually do, especially with all of these big plants in a 4x4 - but I didn't due to them banged up from the move - so I'm taking them now when I can. She's so chunky.

Peace 'n Love :peace::Love: and I hope your gardens are happy. :circle-of-love:

This, folks, is a Master grower at work. :bravo:

Amazing looking plants, CS! I did think I saw a flaw on one of the leaves somewhere, though. :laughtwo:

Oh! ... Hey, I forgot to tell you - I have a Spicy White Devil on the way! :high-five:

You're too kind GT, I have so much more to learn, but I'll revel in this run of fine lasses. :high-five:
There were definitely a few flaws, and ole McStuntty in the corner.
Who knows, she might be a surprise, she looks like she's going purple in the bud already. :circle-of-love:

edit;

Speaking of purple, I see your Pana looking nice! I'm down to my last of her, and might toss my last bean soon. :)

McD's

:adore: I absolutely love how you grow CS. Blue dream and master kush are my faves. The master kush looks so much like my dark star. Plants are all on point. Beautiful.

I received my order from bonza yesterday. Got me a panama thanks to you and Graytail. Also got a blue dream seeing yours and Gov's current grows :)

Back atcha brother, it's very much mutual my friend. :high-five: Loving your finished out Jack, just perfect.

BD is a beast, but smartly so. I'm saving this one. :) Panama is so far my favorite daytime smoke, but I have yet to grow out any of GT's latest finds, Destroyer and Carnival. She'll put a spell on you for a bit - something special there. I can't wait to see you grow her out!
The Master Kush, wow, so adaptable and vigorous. I'll have to compare with your DS when she finishes, she's looking like she's gonna be tasty!

Thanks Reg! :high-five: Same here bro, your gear is really looking McD's all day!

Beautiful plants, well done!

Hello CS. I see many good looking plants on 420 journals, but whenever I'm here I always scroll very slowly when viewing your pictures. Said it before but the vibrant healthy green on your plants is really a pleasure to see. Your latest ladies are setting up for a great flowering phase. Great job! :welldone:

Hey BL! :byebye: Thanks for the kind words, and your support. I so very much enjoy sharing them with everyone, especially when they come out nicely haha! I'm going to keep my eye on them, and will try to do them justice. I'm going to feed lightly this round, and hope for a nice fade on them all. There should be some purple on most of them too - so if all goes well - there will be some fun stuff going on. I see you just updated too, I'm there my friend!

Beautiful plants, well done!

Thanks Peter! I'm pretty stoked for the buds to follow :circle-of-love:

Page 40 - I'm not late am I? No no no - I'm early for your next journal.

:ciao: CareStaker. So sorry it took me so long. :circle-of-love:

Glad your here my friend, you're perfectly on time :Namaste: we are just getting started with these 5 girls/strains.
Things are looking good so far, so it would be nice to have some easy sleddin' :Hookah: :circle-of-love:

Feeling good tonight :volcano-smiley: very relaxed. Just finished using the VaporTower that I got from winning NOTY. :thanks: I've only used one vape before, and it was supposed to be excellent, but I just couldn't get the hang of it - and it held no allure. This thing is so easy. Put on 7 and and hit it like a bong and you're good. I'm so blazed, and Ms. Staker is too. Anyway, I'll post my impressions at some point, but this is a very positive experience so far. Wow. Now I get it. I feel so honored to have won, and the prizes are so touching, and not to mention needed! I'm speechless. A BIG thank you to everyone here. :thanks::420: Much gratitude! :Namaste:

Was getting nostalgic for some of the strains I've run and no longer have on hand, and was looking at pictures, and this caught my eye.

THCBomb. I kinda miss those nugs. Maybe top it more next time. Wow, gonna go fill that vape and see what's next. :)
