Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

Well, you might be able to... Keep breeding your highest CBD plants together, and you'll eventually end up with a plant of four with a higher CBD than the others. Then you'd need to isolate those, and breed them... rinse repeat. As CBD goes up usually THC goes down, so there's your answer as easily as I can put it.

Wow another factory of happyness!

2 more seeds this morning opened so that makes the count 26.

Congrats man! :)

I'm impressed with how well you are dealing with the "volume" of your grows! I know how much work everything you are doing is, so your results are definitely not lost on me! :)

Sound advice as always!

Gotta throw another plug in here for M.O.N's Harlequin GDB! If you want to advance the high CBD cause, I can't think of a better strain in which to build out from.

Just search "Medicinal Organic Nursery" and find their page on their Harlequin GDB. I don't work for these guys, but I have met the founder and grown several of their strains with exceptional results. I believe in helping to support breeders that have their hearts in the right place, and the crew at M.O.N are definitely in that number!

Y'know, when you first started talking about MON, being new to me, I was a bit hesitant. Then you told me that the guy made good with the trouble you had twofold, and that made my eyebrows raise. Now I see the quality of plant produced by them and it was safe to say I was beginning to gain interest. Then your smoke report clinched it. There's no mistaking the High CBD of that strain.

So couple your overall experience with them with the side research I've been doing on them, I believe I should seek these people out. I **was** set on SOHum, but ahhh.... you persuaded me. yeah, let's just say there's more to a breeder than just turning out good plant strains. and your very first "uh-oh," dealing with them proved to me that they are not just words on a website. Maybe someone should contact them about becoming a sponsor here.

My only problem, though, is that they're down in Oakland... That's a bit far to drive for clones, and would hate to have to order seed, if that's even possible, and have the same happen to me that happened to you.

[h=1]Celestron 44302 Deluxe Handheld Digital Microscope 2MP[/h]

I can't find anywhere that shows what the length of the usb cord is. Are there long ass usb extension cords out there in the world? Could be a huge pain in the ass to get focused walking back n forth to my monitor. But with a desktop computer and the grow down the hallway, well, you get it.

Yes there are up to 15' extension cords. Add that to the 6' cord on it already, and that makes it 21'. Over that and you need a USB booster to negate signal degradation. I have 2 15' cords, and it is a bitch sometimes to get the computer to recognize the scope. I need to get the booster of course.

Very good! Glad to hear it! :thumb:

My first experience with their product was 2 years ago with their Blue Cheese strain which came from a 6 seed packet I purchased from the local dispensary. Unlike the Harlequin GDB seeds which gave me all females, I only got one female from the BC planting. At first I was bummed with that lopsided yield, but M.O.N. females are so impressive that one of their plants is worth a half dozen from another seed bank! Since then I have cloned out that one original plant several times and the strain continues to deliver in spades! (I still regret that I didn't think to save the pollen from those BC males when I had the chance.)

All of these other strains that they gave me in clone form this spring have been just as impressive as the Blue Cheese and the Harlequin.

In terms of them becoming a 420 sponsor... When I met with Alex in person this spring I urged him to contact the 420 mag folks about doing just that since I thought that they would be a great match with this community! Not sure what became of that, or if they ever actually contacted the 420 staff. I know that they are having trouble keeping up with the demand for their seeds and clones, so it could be that they are afraid of not being able handle the extra business? I got the impression that they were the opitomy of an "Artisan" breeder. Small scale, but super high quality product!

Alex was a very soft spoken chap, and as humble as can be. You would never know that you were chatting with the guy responsible for some of the most impressive strains out there right now! Their Purple Diesel for example could give Ken's GDP a good run for its money. At least based on physical appearances. I haven't tried the strain yet, but based on their BC and Harlequin, I am fully expecting to be impressed! :)

I hope that you are able to score some plants from them for yourself! Based on your experience with growing, I have no doubt that you would get the same fantastic results that I have here! And the sky's the limit with what you might be able to come up with their Harlequin GDB! With your skills, you could probably get that already high CBD perentage even higher! ;)

Just snip off a snow covered leaf from the bud site. Then look at it with the scope. Do all my outdoors that way. :high-five:

Exactly! :thumb:

A 10x loupe is the way to go for spot checking trichomes on living buds still attached to the plant.

I haven't used my microscope much this season because I have been able to equate what I see in my jewelers loupe with what I saw at 100x under the scope last season.

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

30 total seeds from the two small seeded buds, with some strays that popped up in the main top buds. Those dried and curing 3 top buds weighed 10.9g which gives me hope for the rest of this plant. Almost 3 ounces total if my figures are right. We'll see when we harvest the rest.

However, I am disappointed that my pH issues with the faulty meter caused fluffy jandre Kush. Those three buds alone, in VOLUME look like almost .75 ounce, but in mass show less than they are. Regardless, they're the biggest single buds I've gotten from this whole hydro venture, so I'm not complaining at all.

The smell? I'm glad you asked! Think of a cross between GDP and OG Kush. Musty, sour, putrid stench, with a hint of sweet fruit. The taste is amazingly different with an almost overbearing pinesol, with lemon notes, and a tiny, almost imperceptible blacktop asphalt on the exhale. The smell in the room is that of deep fried pinecone, with a side of skunk when smoked.

The effect is an overall sedative and an eye-closing dryness. Makes the lids so heavy, even my high tolerance having beloved is now asleep. And she needs to be asleep at this time because she works nights. Usually she's still up and getting angry that she's not the least bit tired, or ready for bed, even having worked all night. So.... Pure sleep meds have been achieved! Now with this F1 back cross, I should start to see variance and begin to stabilize it and look for those same effects. A name hit me while manicuring the buds to be presented to her for trial. Tell me what you think. Bittersweet Dreams. Or something along those lines.

So here we come to the point that I ask my peers for help. If you have a GOOD IDEA for a name for this strain I'm working on, please share it with us. Please try to be serious with the suggestions. Funny is good, but only if it applies to the marketability, because this hopefully in the future will be a calling card of sorts with the co-op. I'm rarely this serious, as you all know, so please help me out with this.

Hmmmmm.............i wonder if I can see seeds coming to me in the mail in the near future hmmmmmm :)

Near? Not until I'm proud of my cross... Until I call it a strain will anyone get seeds. And then only a handful of growers, dedicated to helping patients, instead of motivated by dollars, will get them. *wink*
