Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

I'm of the opinion that boys show earlier than girls,so the
fact that I've got nothing yet may be a good thing...
But you know what they say about opinions.....

Monday update time!
Not a lot going on-my solitary plant is doing pretty well, I've removed about 24 huge leaves just in the last week, and she needs a bit more thinning today.
30 days old today,and I still don't know if it's a boy or a girl....

5 inches tall now...I'm going to flip to 12/12 around day 35(Sat.)- three branches have reached
the edge of the pot- 1 hasn't...because the idiot that planted her apparently doesn't know where the "middle" of the pot is... :)

Here's a look at the undercarriage...I actually forgot those innermost restraints were there
till i took this pic...all but the outer restraints will come off when I flip to 12/12...

It's On 4.5g/gal of Mega Crop, fed and watered yesterday- the dose will increase half a gram per feeding till I reach 6g/gal....then maybe a little higher dose if it looks like it needs it.

And in case you wondered how the male houseplant is doing...
1580155202636.jpeg

Not too bad,really...fed him 6g of Mega Crop on Friday...I do sit him out in the sun for a
few hours a day...when the sun is actually out-that's kind of hit and miss this time of year around here...

On Friday before I watered him, he was really stinking, smelled like we had a pet skunk living in the house...Mrs.C's "spot" in the living room is about 3 feet from the plant.
She hadn't mentioned the smell.
Thinking maybe her nose had quit working, (and apparently feeling a need to "poke the sleeping bear") I asked her what she thought about that smell....She just said "Oh, it's not bad, I'm getting used to it"...... you could've knocked me over with a feather...She's one of us now !

That's about all I've got today...I'm evidently not going to know if my plant is a
female or not till I flip to 12/12, but If I find out sooner,I'll let you know...

Thanks for looking, I appreciate the support!

Have a great week everyone:peace:

and excellent wire wrapping technique!
Thanks- I've had a 100' roll of thermostat wire laying around for years-
finally found something to use it for (should last me awhile...)
Not sure about having a plant out in the living room though :).
I'm not going to leave it in there for long, Although I'll probably need Mrs.C's permission
to get rid of it now-She really likes it in there!

Aloha Carcass!!

holy jeebus those two autos were monsters! I’m inspired by your work. rethinking my next grow and gonna try more autos. The rate of growth is mind boggling  Sending positive thoughts and vibes from Hawaii!!

:passitleft:

Good Morning VG! :hugs:
staying nice and short for you.
Thanks,Chef...she (i hope) is actually half an inch shorter today than she was on Monday-I'm tying the center branches down now so she's just getting wider...I may wait a little longer to flip to 12/12
Unless it's a boy...
Right!...and it's apparently going to make me wait for the flip before it shows me it's junk....
If it’s a boy carcass should throw that seed in the fire
Or I'll have 2 houseplants...I really don't want another houseplant
Aloha Carcass!!
Hi,Sunny! Great to have you stop by!-When this photo grow is over (which could be real soon),I'm going to be growing quite a few more autos-I'll find out if I just got lucky with the first two,or did I actually do something right:)
Nice and healthy!
Thanks,HH! Mega Crop has a lot to do with that!

Hey guys. Just caught your chat about sexing seeds from a couple of weeks ago.

Seems to me that ring on the seed is where the stalk attached and that ring might get damaged by a couple of factors. Removing the seed roughy might damage it mechanically. Maybe ripeness of seed/dryness of stalk? If the shape of the ‘caldera’ is a sign of bean gender then we want to control it, I guess.

Love the houseplant, Carcass.
And this in your sig:

So it was you !- I saw that somewhere on the forum, couldn't for the life of me remember who said it...
thanks for that!-I didn't realize it was a song title either,so thanks for that too!

The house plant is a happy camper....too bad it's a boy, because it's growing sooo well-I'm going to hate killing it in the fairly near future....

So it was you
‘Twas indeed. Somewhere in Vg’s back pages I recall.

It’s a great idea for a good song. There’s another live version somewhere with Jack White on drums. That song took Seasick Steve from skid row to world fame. Not bad.

I like his style- I'd never heard of him till your vid...
Now I've got some new (to me) music to listen to...
Thanks,DD- Perfect music for this fine Sunday morning!

I think we’re thinking more along the lines of... the seed-to-plant connections that are created perfectly round indicate female. The imperfect connections indicating male. If you can show that mechanical damage is possible without a severe drop in viability, then it’s possible that you would get a lot of incorrect male readings. (Assuming, of course, that this theory has merit) I don’t think in either case, damaging the caldera will increase the likelihood of male.. but then again, what do I know?

He looks kinda stretchy
No,nothing but a few defining preflowers on him...He's probably stretchy because most of his light comes from the floor lamp behind him ...12 big watts of indirect warm white led power! ;)
