Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

How about a mini Friday Update on the little @Barney's Farm Blue Gelato 41?

This is her third day above ground and she's already giving me that warm, fuzzy feeling...😌
There's apx. 1/4 tsp of Grow Dots mixed into her Promix HP, and she's loving it so far...
BG 1.jpg

Her little 4 wick SIP takes care of the watering...and it also creates the correct type of root system for it to be a seamless move from here into the big (4 gallon) SIP, when the time comes..
BG 2 SIP.jpg

The seedling lights are 4" above the seedling- 22k lux at the "canopy" keeps her from getting too leggy- which is important if you plan on training her low and wide later on...

The actual lights are 2x 9 watt led bulbs, with the bulb part removed...she'll spend 2 weeks+ under these lights...
BG 3.jpg

A big Thank You to @Trala ,for making this plant possible..This was going to be part of a USA/Australia comparative grow,
But Trala's sprout got taken out by a severe case of "helmet head"- so sorry that happened, T.!:hug:

And that's all for this little update...

Thanks for looking in...:peace:
And have a wonderful weekend!

She is a perfect-looking little one Carcass! I'm feeling fuzzy too, but not warm yet. :)

This confused me. Can you help me out?

Thanks, GDB👍
The "round" plastic part is what I call the "bulb"- it's just glued on to the metal base- once you get it off, then you use the base as a seedling light...
If it's glued on too well, you can use a hacksaw to remove it...
Here ya go:

I use those in my grow. To get the diffuser off I usually plug it in for 10 minutes or so which warms up the glue that holds it in place and makes it easier to pry off which I do with an adjustable wrench.

That's a great idea, Azi!

It seems almost obvious.... but I didn't think of doing it..!🤪

I just clamped the globe in the vise, and wiggled and pried them off that way..

I damaged a few getting them off that way which is why I now heat them up first.

These 2 will probably last just about forever, but If I ever need to do another one, I'll def heat it up first👍
I'm all about easier!

Happy sproutling, fuzzy grower!
Thanks, Shed! She's even happier today- and that feelin' is getting fuzzier all the time...😋
I can’t wait to watch you make her sing!

Thanks,T!- I think she's gonna be a regular Adele when she grows up... ♪♫♪♪♫ 😄

I can't believe I fell so far behind, but I'm caught up now. A belated congratulations on your Wookie #1 harvest. In spite of the yellowed leaves, I thought it looked beautiful. :welldone: Over 7 oz of buds is pretty dang awesome too!

I'm looking forward to watching your little Blue Gelato thrive in your fancy setup. :thumb:

Omg she looks just lovely! I swear you can’t go past Barney’s Farm for quality when it comes to genetics.
Thank you, T! Both of my previous Barney's plants did very well- so far, this one is doing better than both of them...it may not seem like it, but it's growing way faster than what I'm used to..
A belated congratulations on your Wookie #1 harvest.
Thanks, Beez- she was a productive little thing!

Thank You, Beez-It's probably been called a lot of things, but "fancy" is a first.:)...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm here, it's Monday, and that means it's Update time!
How much can one say about one tiny seedling?....lets find out-
It's day 6 above ground for this little Blue Gelato 41, and, although it may not seem like it- she's growing pretty fast...I like to think my little SIP is helping with that...but it's probably just the awesome genetics from @Barney's Farm :
bg2.jpg
It's nice, not having to worry about whether I'm over or under watering- the mini SIP takes good care of that chore...(I have a tendency to over water seedlings)
bg5.jpg
She's 1.5" (3.8cm) tall...seems a bit short, but that's actually what I'm going for- a long spindly stem is just wasted space..at least I think it is...
That big seedling mat not only keeps the seedling warm, but it also keeps the box at apx. 80f most of the time- it'd cool off if I was running the exhaust, but that doesn't get turned on until the big light comes on..just the circulator fans are running now.
bg5a.jpg
I prepped 4 gallons of ProMix HP on Saturday- I added Dynomyco, Worm Castings, half a gallon of mosquito dunk treated water, and 3 cups of Perlite to it - it'll "cook" until I add the Grow Dots to it on transplant day... 2 weeks or so from now she'll be going in to the dual mop bucket SIP- she'll be the third plant I've grown in that one. I have a feeling she'll also be the best one, but that remains to be seen..😬
Side view, with black background...she's definitely a happy little camper...
And there you have it!
Thank you for looking, I really appreciate your support..:love:
I hope all your gardens are thriving, and
the upcoming week is a great one for you..:peace:
Mine hasn’t made it :(
But if that’s the worst thing that happens today it’s still a good day.
Can’t wait to see you make yours sing tho C Star!
We will have to rain check for your next grow. Xo
Oh Trala, I'm sorry to hear that! Keep that positive spirit, though. Every grow has its lessons. Can't wait for your next one. And I'm rooting for C Star too! Keep growing, friend. 🌱
Hey Grand Daddy Black, I was curious about that too. Learning every day, right? And gotta agree, Carcass has got that green thumb magic. Your grow's looking pretty solid too from what I've seen.
Oh, Azimuth, that's a genius hack! I've been struggling with those things. I might try your method next time. Thanks for the tip! How's your grow coming along?
