Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Do you mean you got 6 new leaves a week, or after a second week still no more new leaves?
But the main thing is that you really love Bubba Kush, so you're winner regardless!
I mean no more leaves.

She’s only just started to get that out of node growth. Hopefully she will get her grow on now.

they're both what I consider a good shade of green
:green_heart: You do have a way with the lady’s C but I’ll be honest I don’t think my back would hold up to schlepping the sippies. I struggle with pulling dry fabrics from the tent. :laughtwo:

Finally had a little time to stop by and see the new SIP set-up.
Your plants are as beautiful as ever. Looks like it's working great for you.

I think that I'll be making mine out of 5 gallon buckets. They also have some nice 3 gallon ones. It will depend on how tall I can hang my lights in the new place.

What size are your mop buckets ? About 2 gallons?

I haven't read much about this method...SIPs. Does one need to use only LOS or does it work in an application like Pro Mix with a synthetic like MC? I'm not familiar with the 'Grow Dots' that you are using.

To keep soil out of your reservoir, you could use a bit of pre-rinsed perlite.
1-2" would work fine. Works great as a wicking medium. I could see coconut husk or long fiber sphagnum moss working as a natural option as well.

Does one need to use only LOS or does it work in an application like Pro Mix with a synthetic like MC?
Farside is running synthetics, res-fed only in ProMix Organic (like you I recall), and he seems to be doing okay with them:

Thanks for that , Sheddy.

As helpful as ever.. :green_heart:

Serious question: how do you get so much growth in one week?
Much as I'd like to take credit for it, it's the SIPs (self irrigating planters) that are doing it-

You know how when you water your plants, and they grow like hell for a little while?
And then they sllooowww down a little, until they get watered again?
With a SIP, there is no slowdown- they just keep on drinkin' and keep on growing and all you need to do is keep water in the reservoir.

I'd say they're growing about 1/3 faster (maybe even more) than in a regular pot- so I'll be growing in them for quite awhile.

the main thing is that you really love Bubba Kush, so you're winner regardless!
She is, regardless👍
Hopefully she will get her grow on now.
My ATF was a real slow starter too, but she's growing out of it as we speak!
Don't give up on her, T.!
I don’t think my back would hold up to schlepping the sippies.
Mine wouldn't either if they were both as heavy as the mop bucket sip- but I knew the auto would end up outside, so I made a smaller,(3 gallon) schlep-friendly one for the auto.😃
What size are your mop buckets ? About 2 gallons?
Hi, VG!
The mop buckets are 14.2 liter/3.75 gallons, the smaller sip is apx. 3 gal.
Does one need to use only LOS or does it work in an application like Pro Mix with a synthetic like MC?
I was going to mention @farside05 's beautiful grow, but Shed beat me to it!
and he seems to be doing okay with them:
An understatement if I've ever heard one!💚
Thanks for that , Sheddy.

As helpful as ever..
And with all the right answers!

Roses are red ❤️

And now...
How about a little Update on the 2 SIP girls?

They're both doing well- the Grow Dots/SIP combination is keeping them pretty happy so far..

Amnesia Haze auto(?) , left- ATF, right...

12.jpg

The AHa- 38 days old, 17 in the SIP- no sign of pistils yet...which seems like a good thing, but it's gettin' kinda late in the game for that...if she turns out to be a photo, I'm going to have to come up with a new plan... 🤔 Those specks on her leaves aren't bugs or something- they're dust blowing off the 2 overhead fans that I didn't clean when I should have..
2.jpg

And the ATF- 52 days old, 30 in the SIP...She just started with alternating nodes, so she's ready for the flip..she hasn't grown as fast as the auto, but she's done ok, after a super slow start...
3.jpg

And, an out of focus Saugaview®- sorry- I didn't see how much this pic sucked till I got them back into the box...
Anyhow, the AHa is apx 14 inches wide, the ATF is apx 18"- their color looks way different under fluorescent light-
no "in the sun" shots today, because Mr. sun was a no-show ...
9.jpg

The ATF (r) is due to be flipped in 5 days- she's 8" tall today. Seems a bit short, but it's actually just about right in this growspace..(36"from the soil to the light, when the pot is on the floor)
5.jpg

The AHa is 7" tall, so she's almost caught up to the ATF after just 17 days in the SIP...
4.jpg

One last look- Saturday is 12/12 day for the ATF, so there'll probably only be one in there next Monday...
Although...I may leave the AHa in there with her for a few days of 12/12 - to maybe help get her flowering juices flowing...😁

And there you have it!
Thanks for looking,
I appreciate your support..
See you next time..:peace:

They are looking totally healthy, full of vigor and ready to explode Carcass. You got room for a double wide corrugated in there? :laughtwo:
The AHa- 38 days old, 17 in the SIP- no sign of pistils yet.
This would make me wonder also but like an auto she had a real burst of early growth compared to a photo. I just have personally never had an auto take anywhere near that long to show of the good stuff.
:passitleft:

Looking good Carcass.

How's the weather? That auto might be a closet-huge auto! :)

Plants are gorgeous Carcass! This is what I sent you….hooray for 30+ days of veg!
PXL_20230213_225711392.MP.jpg

I will say, my heart skipped a beat when I read your update because of this…
PXL_20230213_225737517.MP.jpg

Not sure if you remember my summer 2021 grow (that got raided/confiscated)? My Blow Dream was an autoflower in my tent that just wouldn’t flower. I finally moved her outside and she was a gorgeous 7’ plant with dinner plate sized leaves. I recently discovered why. NOT an autoflower! I ordered those seeds with the Chocodope auto seeds but there must have been a mix up in packaging and I didn’t even notice! Maybe I’ll try again outside this summer. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks, Nev!
You got room for a double wide corrugated in there?
No, but I do have a hall closet that would look real good with a pot plant in it!
(pending Mrs.C.s approval, which doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell :) )
I just have personally never had an auto take anywhere near that long to show of the good stuff.
I had one take 36 days a few years back, iirc, can't remember which one, though.

Looking good Carcass.
Thank you, GDB!
How's the weather? That auto might be a closet-huge auto!
Sunless, gray and cold- hard to believe it was 82f last week!
It might, I just have to convince the boss Mrs.C.
Auto or photo, I think she's going to be a good one ..

Plants are gorgeous Carcass! This is what I sent you….hooray for 30+ days of veg!
Thank You so much, Boo..💚
I think I was having a senior moment when I labeled those seeds- tbh, I'm not sure what I did...
As far as I can tell, I think I may have put Amnesia autos and Amnesia Haze photos in the same little jar...so she's one or the other...:hmmmm:
But, whatever she turns out to be, I think she's going to be a good one!
There may be much schlepping involved, but I'll make it work...😁

Thank you, Trala!

Im still amazed at how well you work magic with the hooks man. Great work buddy 👍

Well, the seeds are aptly named if nothing else. :laughtwo:

Thank you, GF!
I spend about 15 minutes a day adjusting the hooks, but it usually pays off in the end..

Well, the seeds are aptly named if nothing else.
:rofl::laugh:
now that is funny!
Well Done, Azi!

I think 8" is a great height to flip, considering @Van Stank's ATF at harvest on day 85:

Damn, that was a tall one! Hopefully, I don't get more stretch than I /the box can handle!
I have a feeling that she won't stretch much...but I also had a feeling that she was a runt to begin with, so my "feelings" evidently don't mean much... 😁
If I can schlep you can schlep!
True!
and either way, I was going to have to schlep.... but if that AHa turns out to be a photo, it's going to be a looonnng schlep till flower time:oops:
