Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

...and I'm never using that shit again.
Ha! You know I'm a slow learner! I will use it again, just not so early, and not so much... :)
I'll also make room for it by reducing the mc feed when I use EW- something I probably should have been doing all along....

Ha! When you lay it out like that, it actually looks like a stupid thing to do!(because it is?)
Much as I like to add shit to "help" the plant:rolleyes: I should probably stop doing it.
Thinking back, I'm hard pressed to think of an instance where there was any visible advantage gained by adding stuff to the mc....but I can think of a few times where it definitely did the opposite.
I need to stop using stuff just because I have it....
Thanks, Shed!

If anything simple needs to be added to MC in flower it would be nitrogen and magnesium*. A little magnesium nitrate would be all you needed at that point.

*Because MC has so much Ca and K, as you raise the amount in flower to compensate if your lower leaves are yellowing, you can get toxicities in those two. Adding magnesium nitrate will boost the nitrogen and also better balance the Ca/Mg numbers, leaving the K alone.

Good info Shed.
There’s a Humboldt breeder Brandon Rust who reminds us that sulphur boosts the terpenes in lavender in commercial research. Ergo: adding your magnesium to the mc as magnesium sulphate (aka Epsom salts) may be helpful too. Then you just need worm castings or used coffee grounds for N.

Thanks Donkey! I started with epsom salts, figuring the S boost was a good thing. But when I saw how much sulfur I was actually adding to get the magnesium that went along with it I decided to stop.

I also want to know how much nitrogen I'm adding (for repeatability's sake) so coffee grounds and worm castings are too loosey goosey for me. Of course, that's just me!

Thanks for explaining that, Shed- I will get some Magnesium Nitrate- is this the stuff, And apx how much is "a little"?
:)

I used to use epsom salts, but I ran out and never got any more, for some reason :hmmmm:

Thanks again, Shed :thumb:

I got Greenway Magnesium Nitrate from Amazon, pretty inexpensive as I recall. And by a little I mean about 1g/gallon, though I'd never give my plants 6.5g of MC! That puts you at 155-45-242 on its own, which more K than I aim for.

At 5.1g of MC I'd be using 1.1g of mag-nitrate. That's 154-35-192. Only a really hungry plant would need more than that.

I’m hoping posting this pic isn’t frowned upon here but there are some awesome growers in this thread so I wanted to share. How in the world???

Looks like something @copperrein would do. She's got a plant (Freakshow or Grinspoon?) that she split down the stem three ways and embedded a bead into the center. I'll see if I can get her to share a pic.

Is copper back? She hasn't posted since January 4 on her grow journals.

And @syenite.

He used to create grow art too.

I miss that crazy girl. She is a good egg.
