Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

@Carcass Thanks for letting me join in your tribe :ganjamon:, and thanks for the quick reply, I'm almost caught up (pg 240) and in-between the time I typed out my first couple of questions and pg 240 you guys answered all of them before I even knew it. :adore:

I'm curious (just trying to see if my observations are WW and not just me), when your girls are that green you like and look for, do/did they feel different (tactile wise) than when they were that yellowish/light green color? I'm trying to determine if the girls can express their needs other than just through sight.

Thanks for the break got to get back to catching up.

I like the moon footprint! @Trala stop picking on Carcass...you're bougie in the streets but I know you bogan in the sheets, fam.
Its like you can see into my soul... if I had one.

:laughtwo: :laughtwo: :laughtwo:

If you rearrange some of your box gear you can turn the box on it's side. Then the plant will fit in there with at least two sides not touching the box. Then you can use the Lazy Susan to rotate it. This will work especially well absent any more stretch.

Problem solved.:ganjamon:

Or he could take the extraordinarily beautiful plant out, put some cheese and crackers on the lazy Susan. Roll a joint, take the box outside, poor petrol on the box, strike a match and watch it burn baby burn.

Problem solved... well not totally, in fact not at all... but I will have finally killed that box!

LOLLLINGGGGGG

I've gussied her up with a few new stickers, she's looking real goooood now...:high-five:
Beautiful box lol.jpg
The outside giveth no hint to the beauty that lies within. Awesome plants buddy.

That box is why I started following you.

You showed everyone what can be done without fancy equipment.
The dedication and talent of the grower is on full display.

I'm hoping that you'll keep it as long as possible. I know I would be really bummed if you got rid of
"The Magic Box".

Only the lower leaves that are dying of old age feel different- thin and brittle- yellow leaves higher up on the plant feel pretty normal- those are the ones that'll green up again if you figure out why they're yellow in the first place ..

@Carcass Thanks for letting me join in your tribe
Glad to have you, man!
Anyone that read this whole journal, start to present has a reserved seat in the front row!

That box is only 3 years old ... she's just gettin' started... :high-five:

It proves that, like beauty, ugly is also only skin deep...:cheesygrinsmiley:
Thanks for the kind words, Vet!

do you still add cal\mag and silica to your feeding schedule?
I use the silica blast every watering, but now I use Calmag (8-0-0) for a little extra nitrogen if the plants need it- my tap water supplies all the cal and mag that they need.
I did need it back when I was watering with rainwater...but there hasn't been any rainwater in California for a looonng time...

Thank you so much, VG- Your kind words mean a lot to me:hugs:

It's going to be around for a looonng time....and when it wears out, a trip to Home Depot, and an hour or so is all it'll take to move everything into a not-quite-as-ugly brand new box...hell, I'm not sure I'd know how to grow in anything else...:hmmmm:

Yeah, but the stickers. How do you move the stickers? Be a shame to have to replace those... :p

Challenge yourself. Next time get a Lowes box.

Thank you for this explanation on yellowing leaves. I always want to pull all the yellow leaves but if they may turn green again, maybe I'll try leaving them on for a change. :battingeyelashes:

Are you using GF or the grey stuff? My Girl Scout Cookies are starting to turn yellow again.

Also, while I have you, I planted my Dark Devil seeds directly into 3 gallon pots. Since J isn't here currently, could you please let me know when I should start feeding them the grey stuff?

:thanks:

Yeah, but the stickers. How do you move the stickers? Be a shame to have to replace those...
....I hadn't thought of that....I'll just have to start with a "clean slate" and slowly uglify it with new stickers;)

Next time get a Lowes box.
Hmmmm....a Blue themed box would go better with the blue painters tape that I use for pretty much everything.... :)

Are you using GF or the grey stuff?
I'm back to using the grey stuff, but I'm going to continue using the GF veg as a soil amendment- I pre- treat the soil 2 or 3 weeks before the plant goes in- it really does seem to get them off to a strong start..
could you please let me know when I should start feeding them the grey stuff?
I usually wait till the plant has 3 sets of leaves, not counting the cotyledons...I start at 2g/gal., and increase as needed up to 5g, then I leave it there till the plant shows me she needs more (or not)

I initially gave the GG one dose of GF veg before I started the gray stuff on day 39 @3g/gal, now it's up to 5g @70 days old...
It might be something to consider, no danger of burning the little seedling if you start them on GF, then switch to the grey stuff a bit later on.

I did, thank you! The clouds have done that a few times since I’ve lived here and I always grab a pic or two. I just love it. :)

That would look beautiful framed on a wall.

I love the contrast of the top of the trees meeting the sky and clouds.

:)

Just wanted to share that I had a Heavenly Hybrid day today: :battingeyelashes:

Heavenly Hybrid Sky.jpg

Not as much sunshine with mine though.

Happy Labor Day! it's time for the Monday/Labor Day Update!

Things are moving right along in the box, the Gorilla Glue decided to stop stretching @ 17" tall, so she stretched a total of 7"...I was hoping this one would get a little taller (than the last two)...but apparently, that wasn't meant to be...she is a little wider than my previous plants have been, so she's filling the box up pretty well...
She's 75 days old now, flowering for 24 days...
1.jpg

Her canopy is still pretty flat, I haven't had to supercrop or bend anything...you can see my little flag in the middle- that's my "the plant needs to get taller than this" marker....but, that didn't happen..
2.jpg

She's being fed 5g/gal of the gray stuff+ 1g/gal of @Blue Planet Nutrients "Easy Weed"as a flowering supplement, and 4 ml of Silica Blast...

I'm going to do a little defoliating the next time she's out for watering (tomorrow) I probably won't do enough, but I'll do some...I usually don't do any, but this one really needs a little thinning out...

I continue to be impressed with the performance of the 100 watt @Atreum Lighting Hydra-1000- it's pretty much the perfect light for a 2'x2' space-

3a.jpg

Now on to the 2 outdoor ladies- first up, the 36 day old FastBuds Blackberry auto (from @BooWho2 ) - it got off to a slow start, but seems to be making up for that- 24" tall now, so she's grown 14" in the last 2 weeks. Flowering for apx. 10 days

There's not a lot to her, since she didn't get topped or trained at all...she's like a stick with some leaves on it...:)
4.jpg

But she is going to be a pretty one, lots of purple showing up on her
5.jpg

She's only going to have one big cola (and a few smaller ones), so I hope it's a fat one....not much to it yet, but it's early...

5a.jpg

Then there's the 20" tall @Weed Seeds Express Blueberry auto- 38 days old, flowering for apx.8 days
6.jpg

There's a few more budsites on this one, thanks to the topping apx 26 days ago...
7.jpg

One of her little buds- no blue yet...maybe that'll come later?, I don't really know, just gotta wait and see...
8.jpg

And here they both are- They're both being fed 4g/gal of the gray stuff,+plus a gram of Easy Weed & 4ml of Silica Blast- they will both need water and feed later today.
These 2 are my first time using fabric pots- I like them, and so do the plants, so all my outdoor grows will be in them from now on...
9.jpg

And that's about all there is to report on this fine Labor Day....
I hope everyone has a great week, and thanks for looking, I appreciate the support.!.:peace:

And please, be careful out there...covid is coming back around....

Those outdoor shots are nice, @Carcass!

I can't praise the plant in the box enough. Words fail me.

So fabric pots for all your outdoor grows. Will the box plants continue to rest in a cooking pot? :Rasta:

Thanks for the compliment, GDB!
So fabric pots for all your outdoor grows. Will the box plants continue to rest in a cooking pot?
Yeah, the indoor plants will still be grown in a plastic pot- inside a cooking pot... :)
at least that's the plan right now....I may eventually go to fabric indoors too, I'd just have to figure out a system for the runoff. Something easy, preferably....

Thanks for the kind words, Boo...that GG is going to be fun to watch, as she outgrows that box a little more every day ..
that Blackberry photograph is stunning. I’m amazed, I had no idea it would look like that!
Nor did I.. she started with the purple stuff real early, too- should be a real looker by the end..!
you might not have told the plant what the little flag in the middle was for.
I think she saw it and thought that's as far as she had to go-I should of made a 24" flag...;)

Your garden, both inside and out, is looking great, as usual. :high-five: I'm loving the colors on that little Blackberry!

I'm loving the colors on that little Blackberry!
Thanks, Beez! She is living up to her name...the Blueberry, not so much...:)

I hope everyone's Monday is going well, and while I'm here, it's time for an Update...

The plants have had a good week- everything's moving along as it should...
First up, the 82 day old Gorilla Glue- she's been flowering now for 31 days- still only 17" tall...
The Saugaview®:
1.jpg

She's about as wide as she can get in the box- I'm going to have to support some of those branches as she fattens up so the walls don't get gooey in there... ;)

She's still being fed 5g of the gray stuff every other day, plus a gram of BPN's Easy Weed as a flowering supplement.
3.jpg

One of her little buds:
4.jpg

Now ,on to the outdoor ladies...
First, the WSE Blueberry auto- 45 days old, flowering for apx 15 days she was topped once, about a month ago.
5.jpg

She's 21" tall now, fed 4.25g of the gray stuff every other day or so, supplemented with a little Purpinator
instead of the Easy Weed, since this one might show a little color later on...or not, we'll see....
6.jpg

One of her buds:
7.jpg

And then there's the 42 day old FastBuds Blackberry auto from @BooWho2  - flowering for apx. 16 days- not much to her, but a lot of what there is is purple...she's 25" tall, and apparently, branches aren't a "thing" with this one...
8.jpg

She's also fed 4.25g/mc+10ml Purpinator every other day...no complaints from her yet...
15.jpg

A little bud...
10.jpg

I bring both of these into the patio room every night to try and keep the moths/caterpillars away- so far, so good- in fact, right now they're both bug free- but they've got a long ways to go..

And that's about all for this week!
Thank You for looking, I appreciate the support:peace:

I hope you all have a great week, and please, stay safe out there!
