Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

That's what my little scale tells me..44g looks like a more reasonable amount- 2.5oz looks like a lot, sprinkled in a little 3 gallon pot

Just found out lil Nova is going to be here tomorrow, so I'm going to do a little
Sunday Update...
Things are going pretty well- The @Atreum Lighting Hydra-1000 is performing beautifully- I'm not sure how they do it, but 60 watts is growing my plants as well, or better than the 200+ watts I was using before...
I'm going to slowly work my way up to 100 watts over the next month or so, but I don't see any reason to turn it up quite yet...

Here's the Saugaview®
20 day old Iced Grapefruit runt on the left, 26 day old Kalashnikov auto on the right:
Both are in ProMix HP, amended a month ago with (a little too much) GeoFlora Veg nutes

1.jpg

The Kalashnikov is responding to the sixline (quadline+2) training pretty well, she was topped above node#3 nine days ago- I didn't shave off node #1, so there's six branches to train now.
2.jpg

She's just starting to flower, so her training is almost done...probably 2 or 3 more days, then I start letting everything grow upward instead of outward- you can see a few pistils in the red circle.
10.jpg

And then there's the little IG runt- she was topped above node#1 five days ago, now there's 4 branches growing in- should only be two, not sure why there's 4, but I'll take 'em!
She was transplanted into her permanent 3 gallon home yesterday afternoon, and given her first full dose of GeoFlora nutes...I actually gave both of these plants 24 grams too much  , but they both seem to not mind (yet). With some help from @InTheShed and @Virgin Ground , I think I've got the proper dosage figured out- 44g instead of the 68g they both already got.
So they both get a 44g dose every 14 days from here on in...
4 IG runt.jpg

I think she's going to do pretty well- she's a photoperiod plant, so she's got all the time she needs to do what she's gonna do...she's pretty short and funky right now, though (1.75")
6.jpg

In fact, neither one of them is very tall- The Kalashnikov is twice as tall as the IG, but that only makes her 3.5"- she should be significantly taller by the next update.
7.jpg

That's about all that's new in the box so far- one of the plants is going to end up outside eventually, but I'm not sure yet which one that's gonna be...
Thanks for looking, I appreciate the support!
And please, stay safe out there!

Looking great buddy. How was the SSH smoke?
Thanks,Vet! It was good- not really as sativa as I expected, but very potent stuff-4 out of 5 stars!
Loved the photo of it that you entered in one of the contests this month.
Thank you for the kind words, HashGirl!
She was the most colorful plant I've grown...others have shown color, but it's
almost always just been brown or yellow :)

It's so hard sometimes to vote in these contests especially when you're comparing the colourful ones to the ones that remain mainly green with orange and yellow pistils. I love colour! I have 5 favourite colours in order from most favourite to least favourite. :battingeyelashes:

What a nice MoSunday update! No harm no foul on the overage of GeoFlora, but I'm glad we (think we) have it sorted out now. VG says that GF is thinking of having a single thread to answer questions, rather that responding to tags in journals all over. If they do it, that should work for us, no?

Topping the runt seems to have done it wonders...in the hands of a pro of course. :high-five:

Nice sexline on the Kalash...what's that 800 number again?
she should be significantly taller by the next update.
But no taller than 17". :cheesygrinsmiley:

. I love colour!
Me too! I remember in "the old days" pot grew green...period. The colorful strains make growing it even more interesting...
VG says that GF is thinking of having a single thread to answer questions,
That would sure be nice- I saw on their website where it said "all measurements are in cups", and I really wasn't sure what that meant- seems like dry grams or dry ounces would be more accurate- although my plants aren't showing any negative reaction to the overdose I gave them- it's been 7 days for the Kalashnikov, and it's a little darker green than I like to see, but other than that, it's doing well.
But no taller than 17".
Could safely get a little taller now- With the Hydra-1000, I've got a whopping 40" of headroom now, up from 37" with the old light...:cheesygrinsmiley:
Hope all is well my friend
Hi, Dean- good to see you!
Things are pretty good- I got my second vax shot this morning, so I may feel like crap a little later on today...but for now I'm fine- babysitting again today, because the granddaughter has a snotty nose, and daycare won't take her till she's over this cold, or at least not snotty any more...:)

Hi carcass, passing through to......:passitleft: :yummy:
Love your plant training style.
Smile and stay stoneder

I got my second vax shot this morning
I’m glad your were able to get your second shot on time. How ya feeling? I was dreading the second shot reaction because I was hearing it affected more people than the first shot, but my symptoms were very mild.

Hi carcass, passing through ......:passitleft: :yummy:
Hi, Fred!- Great to have you drop by!
Omg your hooks compared to mine!
Happy Wednesday, Trala!

The secret is the copper wire- 24ga. solid core t-stat wire- copper is nice because when you bend it or wrap it around the skewer, it stays bent (or wrapped)

I’m glad your were able to get your second shot on time. How ya feeling?
Hi, big D!
I'm feeling fine now- had a little fever and chills last night at bedtime, but this morning it's all good!
Thanks for asking!

While I'm here, here's a little Iced Grapefruit Runt Report...
I started her training yesterday, she ended up with 4 branches- 2 of them sprouted after I topped her 8 days ago, so she's going to make a nice quad, hopefully...
IG Runt 3-24-21.jpg

I also fed her 24 grams too much GeoFlora Veg nutes 4 days ago (68g instead of 44g) and I'm not seeing any negative effects- so I think GF nutes are very forgiving...
(thank goodness )

To clarify a bit on the nutes- 44g = 1/3 cup in a regular measuring cup (dosage for 3 gallon pot)

@InTheShed did the math a few days ago, - 1oz of GF in a measuring cup = 17.6 g of product.
so, a full cup (8 dry oz) of GeoFlora= 140.8 grams, NOT 224g like I first thought....

I'm actually doing it the hard way by weighing it out- I'll probably just start using a measuring cup, since it doesn't look like the quantities have to be exact.

That's about all for today- Thanks for looking!
And please, stay safe out there!

Hi Carcass :)

Hope all is going well in your world :)

I‘m thinking you must be due for an update. But 1, 2, 3 back to me, I can’t wait to show you our Carlas on my next day off. They are BEAUTIFUL! Well I think they are. I can see where I muffed it, level wise but on the whole I’m happy.

I‘m getting my first covid jab tomorrow, did you have any side effects?

Hey Carcass!

I fell a few pages behind but I'm back to current again.

I enjoyed all the GeoFlora discussions. They have somewhat confirmed what I already suspected, you can use pretty much any amount of GF you want to use!

The challenge and competition going forward will likely move toward who can grow a beautiful plant using the least amount of GF! I can see it coming. :Rasta:

Your plants look great. Of course, I'm pulling for the runt!

Great news on the shot!...The first one made me feel sick(ish) for 8 hours or so, and the second one
gave me a fever for a little while, but it passed quickly and I was back to normal ( :hmmmm: ) in no time..

It does seem like you could just toss a generous fistful of it in the pot every so often, and it'd do it's job just fine..

I'm pulling for the runt!
Thanks, GDB...but she's done with the runt life...now she thinks she's a cabbage.... ;)
