Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

now you're experienced!
And this one's a photo, so that darn "flowering" thing won't get in the way ;)
try a few new things!
With plants that are growing like they should, I top above all of them above the 3rd node- the only difference with a runt is I top above node #1(I've always done it that way, if twice qualifies as "always";))

Sorry I missed these earlier-
Looking forward to this new run, Carcass! :surf::cheer:
Hi, sye- good to see you!
It's off to a slow start, but I'll try and keep it interesting!

@Carcass : What is that lead (temp probe?) arrangement with a cup on it in the back left corner?
Hi, NC!
It's just a temp. lead from a little thermometer on top of the box- so I can see the temp in the box without opening the door...It's really kind of silly, since I open the door all the time anyway...:)

Mar 8th. That was the day I lost touch. Actually it was before that. Mar 8th was the post it led me to when I clicked your sponsored link.
Sooooo, what's new? Great new light btw. Those folks at Atreum really took care of so many members here. They were wise in choosing you. :high-five:

I warped through just to say hello and apologize for not getting around lately. Busy as heck, but loving it at the same time. Stay well.

Hi, Mr Sauga, great to have you stop by!

It's odd to have anything new in the box..
But that Hydra -1000 is definitely breathing new life into that old thing- I can already tell that it's outperforming my old cheap light, and it's only turned up to 60 watts so far...
To say I'm impressed is an understatement!
And I'm also giving GeoFlora nutes a try, and
they're also working great- I was a little worried about switching from the nutes I'm used to using, and it's a little early to tell for sure, but I think they're going to do just fine..

Nothing to apologize for, Mr.S, I appreciate you taking the time to stop by to see how things are going, even with all you've got going on :thumb:

Hi carcass, :yummy: wow, that Alaskan purple sure finished nice! Sweet sponsor stuff! Have a good one buddy.
Smile and stay stoneder

Sweet sponsor stuff! Have a good one buddy.
You too Fred, In fact, Have a Great one!
Yeah the sponsor stuff is really cool, @Atreum Lighting & @GeoFlora Nutrients produce some great products- I feel pretty fortunate to be asked to represent them!

And while I've got a few minutes ( lil Nova is taking a catnap)...I decided to grind up a little bit of the Super Silver Haze, so I can give it a try this evening...the buds only have a tiny bit of purple on them...

but once it gets ground up, there's actually a lot of purple in there......

It's only been curing for about a week, so it may taste a bit funky, but I've waited long enough to try some...It smells pretty good, so it may not taste too bad....

And here's a progress pic of my little Iced Grapefruit runt, topped 3 days ago...it may not look much like it, but she's actually doing pretty well:

...and lil Nova is paging me from the other room, so I gotta go- I hope you're all having a great Friday!

Those buds are just gorgeous! Love the colors! I've had runts that end up good for sure! Smile and stay stoneder

Pretty bud, Carcass.

And the runt will rule! :Rasta:

That runt is really pulling through.
Slow starter, but she may end up alright!
I've had runts that end up good for sure!
This is only my second one, and it'll have to do pretty well to beat that first one...
And the runt will rule!
She definitely wants to grow- she showed me this morning that she's ready to graduate to her 3 gallon
permanent home- she's in a 1 quart take out soup container now- she ain't much yet, but her roots don't know that...

I thought I had more time, but those roots have a different plan- Her pot of GeoFlora amended soil has been ready for a month, so it should be teeming with microlife by now, if I'm using the GF correctly...
I'm measuring it by weight, since none of my measuring cups has a 1/8 cup marking on it... :)

What about a tablespoon, 2 of them equals a 1/8 cup.

Well, I mis-read GF's feeding chart- it's actually 1/3 cup or 2.5 oz (for a 3 gallon pot)...but 2.5 oz is half a cup...it's a little confusing, so I'm just going with actual weight of the nutes- my Kalashnikov auto is happy with it, so hopefully the IG will be too

2.5 oz seems like a lot- I think it's hard to overfeed with GF- but, I don't really know yet-I'm still pretty new at the Geoflora thing, so I'll undoubtedly find out for sure before these are done...

From the line on the bottom of their chart that VG posted here ("App rate in cups"), it seems they mean 2.5 ounces in a measuring cup, not on a scale.

Thanks for clarifying that, Shed-they both got a rather large first dose (68g)- from now on it'll be 44g, or2.5oz in the measuring cup...
Guess I'll find out early on if it burns em up or not :)
It hasn't done any harm yet, but it's early...
