CaptainLucky's First Indoor Golden Tiger Grow 2023

I think I lost a bit of optimism when RG had to make the thread, and looked at their profile & saw their activity.

Figured something was a bit off...

I just make educated guesses from the info I've got.

Not that it's a bad thing to send free gear to 420Mag members, I just always question the motive, I guess.

Hope I didn't ruffle feathers, just stating what I see

I didn't "have" to do anything, I posted it for them as a courtesy because it's a "420 Magazine Official".

"Comparative" here refers to comparing different strains Canuk carries.

We don't have to do things the way everyone else does, nor do we want to.

I thought it was a great idea to make things unique and different from the last one we did.

So we changed it to a large variety of strains and allowed you all to create your own titles this time.

Just because they only have 24 posts doesn't mean anything.

They are owned by True North Seeds and have been advertising with us for 20 years.
No veil and nothing fishy going on, everyone can take off your aluminum foil hats and get back to growing:smokin:

I was grateful for the opportunity to try something different and get it Sponsored. And I even got a surprise when they arrived early today. I got a little surprise from Customs 🛃 too. I think 🤔 I’m on a watch list because anything that comes from a different country is opened. Smh Thanks again @Canuk Seeds. CL🍀 :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley:

Cob Update: My Cob making skills haven’t improved much but I think 🤔 it’s time. The Golden Tiger buds are dry enuff and need to be cobbed or 🫙 jarred now. I destemed them first and then into the corn 🌽 husks. Then rolled them as tightly as possible to be tied. I tried using twine and cotton string. But it’s not working great so I’m gonna have to try butcher string. Here’s some pictures before vacuum sealing. CL🍀. :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley: Edit: and no that’s not a mini cob but a joint I rolled soon to be gifted.

How are you finding this cobbing process? Hiccups are normal with any new task. What's next after vacuum sealing Clover?

I’m not sure 🤔 yet about cobbing but next they go into a crockpot of hot water to start the fermenting process. CL🍀

It seems like a helluva process. Definitely can see it taking time to master....hell it took me forever to be able to press without an issue just cause I wasn't doing everything exactly to spec...I'm happy to follow along and learn from you Clover, even if it takes some trial and error until you get there! How's the smoke treating you? Everything should be curing nicely now and smelling super yummy again!!!

Hey CL, what strains are you growing next, or have you got another journal going?
With the cobs, (and mine is newbie experience) is that you still need a bit of humidity in the buds for fermenting, like it would need to be relit if smoking it. One of my first I feel was made with bud too dry and to me it seemed to 'miss the target' but that's subjective.

Chocolate Thai is my favorite ❤️ and it’s a great all around daytime smoke. Lemony taste with a happy buzz n motivating like a cup of coffee ☕️. The Golden Tiger is just now going into jars 🫙 and cobs. Without a doubt it’s the hardest hitting weed I’ve ever smoked. First exhale you feel a head rush but if you keep puffing it’s fugetta bout it. It’s like the twilight zone of dazed 😵‍💫 n confused for a hour or two. It’s definitely a one or two hitter quiter. CL🍀

I was told that it was better to have them drier like ready for jars 🫙. I’m going to start a new grow in late October Sponsored by @Canuk Seeds. A Elite strain of Acapulco Gold and Lambs Bread 🍞. I’m pretty excited about it too because I never had any Jamaican weed and have been told it awesome. And well because everyone knows that Acapulco Gold is bad ass weed. lol 😆 But after that I have so many different seeds it’s gonna be hard to choose. CL🍀. :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley:

That makes sense comparing the bud stage to jars that need burping. For my jarred buds, I whole plant dry for a month or so before trimming and jarring when by which stage I would be doubtful of achieving a good ferment. So far in my limited cob making I have trimmed such buds for cob use after no more than 4-5 days of hanging. But it is all relative to whatever the drying environment is, I think @tangwena often cobs his buds after just 1 or 2 days from harvest because of the hot weather and rapid drying in his area.

That Acapulco Gold/Lambs Bread cross sounds excellent, nice choice, it'll be great to compare to the GT.

It’s not a cross but two different strains that I’ll be growing. One Elite strain of Acapulco Gold and one Elite strain of Lambs Bread by @Canuk Seeds. I’m going to be using re-used soil with Prescription Blend nutes. CL🍀. :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley:

You had me at fugetaboutit. Thank you for this detailed smoke report my robed Irish friend! Happy Smoking to YOU!! YUMMY! :yummy::ganjamon:

My corn husks need re moisturizing! I know where they are! Sure I do! I'm finding them and putting them in the bathroom so they can have a shower too! Cobs in a few!! Thanks for the inspiration!
You got a sprayer/ mister? All you need to do is give them a light spray. CL🍀

From everything that I’ve read about making Cobs it seems that corn husks add to their taste. CL🍀. :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley:

Gifted Golden Tiger Smoke Review: A friend of mine’s dog died so I gave him a joint of the Tiger. Him and his brother are both daily smokers. But of whatever black market bud they find. Quote: We were watching t.v. passing it back n forth and both looked at each other and said wow this stuff is really strong. 2 hours later they said they came down enuff to start communicating again. I told them that it was the hardest hitting weed I ever had. Btw they only smoked half a joint. Lmao 😂. CL🍀.      :cheesygrinsmiley:

I just love blowing folks away with some crappy looking ditchweed. Makes my day every time. :slide:
