Capt Blast Moving Indoors - A Utility Shed Perpetual

Wow- you're a hard working guy Captain. I know what it's like to work an 18 hour day, get the kid to bed at midnight, and then have to drag my sorry ass out to spend a few hours working in the grow. Anyway- you're dedication shows.
I don't have much help to offer with the venting. Given the time limitations- I wonder how much it would help the situation if you installed a fan at the peak, with a diy barbeque charcoal filter- and had that pushing air out. It might not need to be very powerful- just something to get some air movement - flowing up and out even if it was slowly, instead of sitting there and seeping out every possible crack. Also a few of those Ona things in the eaves would help a lot. I rigged a diy carbon filter for my veg room and it seemed to stop any smell. I took it off after testing it once - I'll just use it in situations like yours when company is around.
Other than that- psychological barriers work great at diverting people and making them go the direction you want- like sharp objects, tangled up messes, bushes and such. People always take the obvious trails. But I see now that you have a pretty clean show going there and not much there to use to re-route the visitors. Sprinkling the property with rubber snakes would maybe work to keep the company indoors but seems a little cruel.
Keep in mind that non-smokers - if that's what they are- have a much better sense of smell. I haven't smoked tobacco in a few days now - my smell is returning and now I'm smelling all sorts of stuff that wasn't there last week.

Great stuff there WC, thank you, I think for Mom alone just high grass will deter her if i keep it cut close all over the rest of the yard and can definitely drag a utility trailer or two up next to it along with say a boat or some implements, the area beyond the green barn where I kinda tend to keep "stuff" I call the snake pit and usually kill one or 2 big rattlers back there each year as well as a few moccasins which Momma is aware of, she is so afraid of snakes she want even say snake, she calls them indians for whatever reason, so if it just Mom I should be ok, now baby sister is the nosey one, but we close so I can talk to her in confidence if necessary. Kinda took today off for a change felt like a lazy bum which was a good thing.

I am working towards living off my land but got a couple more years, not that this would mean working any less hours a day, I'm sure you of all people get that.

great point on the non smokers, I've heard that but din not even take that into account.

Tight lines Brother!

Greatly appreciated:Namaste:

Isolating the hot air by doing the cool tube idea helps with the smell because the hottest air never gets smelly. It would be an airstream that never mixes with the inside of the shed. So now we can just scrub the air we are pulling from the tents with one fan and filter using the "T" and we probably don't even have to exhaust it from the shed if we don't want to. This way we are essentially scrubbing the whole tent because it filters the air over and over.

But since you need fresh air to provide co2 it would pay to do it as you describe and vent out of the shed post filter. You could even make a DIY inline filter by putting a storage bin up in the eaves with the filter inside and two holes leading into the storage bin that would have ducts attached that go to the top end of the tents. Then duct tape the lid on to make it air tight and have the fan attached to the top of the filter and a third duct coming from the fan and going out of the storage bin and directly to a vent at the back peak of the shed. So the airflow would be: tents / ducts / storage bin / filter / fan / duct / vent to outdoor. If You do that I would put a intake vent on the shed with some kind of regular house furnace filter so you allow air flow into the shed but not bugs.

raised shed... yea... you know you're right! My shed (and house of course) is raised as well.

I'd rely on the snake angle. After they arrive, just take a moment to wander outside a bit and return... then tell them you killed one not far from the back door. Seems way effective.

Another option might be to actually open up about it. I don't know if that would be possible, but you might be surprised by how understanding family can be. Hell... they might be in a similar boat... the do come from the same family and background thus may share some of your ideas.... or not.

Perfect thanks a zillion Shiggity!

Probably want get to it until after Mom's visit but for sure going this route to finish up my room.

Yeah, I see these shed up and down the road rotting from the bottom as they just sit them on the ground and the splash from rain gets to them, my house is on a slab it was built in the 50's a little ole 1,000 sq ft 2 bedroom one bath, works for me and will work even better when I'm even older and more feeble not having to use stairs or steps just wheel right in.

Truth want work with Momma, I've been down that road before, baby Sister wouldn't like it because she's worry about me going to prison, but would understand and she is cool on it. Momma knows I smoke and ignores that but she'd have the same concerns with prison.

The snake angle will definitely work, like your angle, damn I just saw a big moccasin running inside after gun, back out bam bam, got him momma, and I'll just point to the big rattler skin on cedar board that hangs over the back door as a reminder, she don't like that there either.

Good thinking thanks Tead!

Well scrambling rond to get ready for Momma, Stent surgery is finally set for Thursday morning @ 0630, can't wait to feel better and hopefully get off some of these damned pills. Got my 6 WWxBB transplanted last night and flipped them to 600 watt HPS in 4x4. I had put one into 5x5 about 4 days ago trying to get an idea on stretch, I really topped the hell out of these over the course of their 11 week veg under one T8 4 foot shop light with last week under 400 watt MH. Hoping to get a 3-4 zip average from the six instead of my normal 2 zip average, just getting braver on heights and notes each round.

With 5 days left before surgery I've got to get new 4x4 veg tent set up, I'm going to have (2) of the 2 tube T8's and a 400 watt MH hanging in that baby, probably use the 400 watt just before flip, as I mentioned before, I really think the flouro tubes add much to root development, up pot my babies, then fix a trailer tire to put on other side of Sugar Shack, (I've brought my lil' vintage 16 camper home from work site for other side), spread some lime around so when Momma asks I can tell her it's a snake deterrent, already setting the stage as she asked what I was doing the next few days, told her trying to cut the grass as I've killed 2 moccasins already and lime the perimeter of home and barns, move some tree tops the loggers left on my property perimeter and dig 5 holes and add soil, replace front wheel bearings, throttle position sensor, idle air valve and cylinder head temp sensor in older ford F150, get to safety deposit box and collect will and bank info and other such stuff for my Sister in case it don't go so good and cut the grass one last time on Tuesday before I leave, and last but not least bring poor old Dixie to the vet's kennel for a 3-4 night stay. So getting after it yawl. Hopefully by the next friday I'll be back and up and running better than ever.

Also got my seed delivery in from Herbie's 5 days no special shipping added, they are just so easy to deal with, and MS Bapple was right, they honored my DP Durban Poison not germinating :yahoo:

Howdy Captain:ciao:

Good to hear you've got a date for the stent procedure. Can't help with the visiting family and smell situation but sounds like you've got it under control. :thumb: Good luck on Thursday:Namaste:

Great result with the Durban Poison; a good reason to always buy from reputable breeders and outlets.

Three jobs Captain:goodjob:....not sure whether to congratulate you or worry that you're burning the candle at both ends and ignoring your heart and BP issues.

if you get a minute - would you have a look at my Blue Dreams and share your thoughts on how close to harvest you reckon they are.:thanks:

Done, Really only two jobs MS B. but the late nite gardening is a job as well. I concur, turned them down on the 2nd job this week, they're begging, mo money, mo money, not important, need to rest.

As to the BP, I've never had an issue, only since these quacks starting prescribing/selling scripts has that been erratic.
